Love the store and the selection but the prices have seem to be going up which seems odd. And also when you bring in donations online it says $5 per bag and when you go there its $5 per delivery so we had 10 garbage bags full of great condition clothes only to be given $5... :-(

Really good prices on used stuff. Really good for kitchen appliances and that kind of stuff. A few of the things they have are a bit useless but there are also a lot of cool things so it's all good. LOADS of clothes here... I can image it would be a good place to shop for kids toys too.

Though I have found some discrepancy with the prices of sort of strange items where it does not seem like they have a specific guideline for all things. There are sales on certain areas of the store on different days so it's always fun to pop in and see what's going on.

Kept clean, fairly well organized. Overpriced for donated goods. Supposedly they give a portion of proceeds to Children's Wish Foundation. Certain that would be a fairly small portion. This is a for-major-profit organization. I NEVER actually donate here, but do shop. Majority of people who work here are kids. Don't expect to do any shopping in the last half hour before closing as they pressure you to get out.

Easy to find everyday items for less. But the real deals don't happen on 50% off days. You must draw a sigil on the floor in the linens isle, create a circle of used salt shakers around you for protection, and chant "save save save" while you light a slightly used vanilla scented candle. You'll feel the deals demon inside you and you'll begin to shriek in pain until you pass out. Once you regain consciousness you'll open your eyes and find the perfect pair of mint condition converse you were looking for for $8.99. You must leave your first born son in the wheelie basket upon exiting to ensure the spell will work again though.

I use to love talize when it first opened. Everything was well priced and it was a clean store. Now ,I find that it's gotten a bit pricy and I have found lots of clothes with rips and stains. Also the isles are very narrow and the racks are jam packed.

I can only give it three stars for now because it was a bit disorganized possibly because it just opened. Also the prices seem to be very high, for example slippers that you can buy at giant Tiger new for $3 or $4 are closer to $6 here and they are not new. Staff is very nice and helpful. I wish they had furniture, a better selection of pet items, and a better selection of gardening supplies. I will review my rating soon in case things improve.

Much better than Value Village. Not perfect, but much better. Lots of selection. There isn't much in terms of footwear, most their footwear is pretty roughed up. Their clothing thought, for the most part, is really nice. I found a few really good items. But, as pictured, I also found some items that might as well have been thrown out. I'd say visit, they have lots of summer dresses and I must say, the staff are fantastic!!

They have terrible service every time I go. Their prepackaged bags of toys, home products and craft supplies are always a mess. Either not done in a way that makes sense or just filled with obvious garbage. Clothing isles are never clean and clear. Place could use some TLC.

Love this store but for the first time had an unpleasant experience. We have recently spent the better part of the year cleaning out our home and making massive amounts of donations to talize as promoted by their in store advertising. We received coupons each time, but when we went in today to redeem one we were told that some people had been photocopying them and allbecause the of this our coupons were no longer valid. I handed in a stack of coupons to have them replaced by just 4! I am extremely angry that the store printed coupons on paper that could be easily photocopied in the first place and now I'm being punishers for their lack of foresight. This is their mistake and they should act accordingly not by upsetting loyal customers that donated to their store for the express purpose of obtaining coupons AS THEY ADVERTISED! I feel cheated!

Have been here about 9 times in past couple days to drop off donations. Ring buzzer the staff member is prompt to help unload my car , always offers a coupon toward next purchase. After first ; visits he asked why so much stuff I explained clearing out my terminally ill mom’s house. I really like this thrift store. It's big, well-organized and the change rooms are large. Bathrooms are clean. The only thing I would like to see, would be clean clothes before they're displayed. Sometimes I find the prices high and other times they're reasonable. More consistency in pricing would be nice. Still, you can find some fantastic deals and treasures! Talize is a for profit company that supports the Children's Wish Foundation and is Canadian owned.

My first visit to this store. I was pleasantly surprised to see how nicely laid out they were and product presentation was very similar to some of the nicer department stores. This store has a ton of stuff and consequently it makes browsing a challenge as the racks are too full to be manageable. If you have a lot of time and patience you can probably find a useful addition to your wardrobe. Also they have an excellent selection of used books.

Talize is a large thrift store, rivaling the size of most major clothing stores. The selection depends on when you go, but all of the clothes are seperated first based on type(pants, shirts, blouses, etc), size, and then colour. It's eye catching, and quite unique, to see a store organized by colour. It makes shopping a breeze if you know exactly what you're looking for, and the fitting room attendants are understanding when you bring in a large amount of clothing to try on. Although the fitting room does a limit of 9 items at a time, if there is no lineup they will generally let you continue to enter and exit with 9 new items to get through your cart quickly. The prices are great, with most items under $10 each.

My go to thrift store. The clothing is pricey for donated items but I understand that they have costs as well. As this store is quite far from me, and most people donate chunks at a time, their $5 off coupon you get after donating a trunk full that can only be used on purchases over $25 seems a little stingy. I'd much rather coupons based on how many bags or boxes get donated as I dont always find something I like so I dont end up spending over $25. Even a percentage off would be better. Their items are nicely organized, and look clean but like every thrift store, I'd reccomend bringing hand sanitizer. If you need to make a return, you have 7 days to return for store credit on a gift card.

I donated a huge fully stuffed black garbage bag of re-sellable clothing and got my $5 off coupon only to find out after shopping in their store for about an hour and CANNOT use the coupon I just earned unless I spend over $25 before taxes. So the MAIN reason I'm posting this is for others like yourself to DIVIDE the donation bags up and drop off multiple times to receive multiple $5 off coupons. Hopefully this helps for the people that donate big and the customer gets what they deserve instead of a company that only has to donate THEIR share (which is 10-20%) and take in huge profits from FREE donations.

Just opened yesterday and boy, does Value Village ever need up their game now lol. The store itself is about 7-10 VV all in one. The selection is ENORMOUS and unique (like Toronto second-hand store clothing) and the quality ????????. The clothes don't have that stinky smell either lol. I absolutely love Love LOVE how much black clothing they have too! For pricing compared to VV it's a cheaper, but not a lot a lot. Still better than there for the sheer selection and staff alone. The staff is friendly (so far) the changrooms are open and they have bathrooms as well. The shoe selection is a bit bigger than VV but they have tons of name brands. Like, I found a pair of fricking Valentino shoes there for only 20$! 20$! They also have a points system. The line was long and I browsed so long I didn't have anymore time lol. But from what I gather from a website I found it's 20pts for every dollar spent. 1000pts can be redeemed for 1$ off you're purchase. So spend 50.00$ get a 1$ off basically. Apparently they have special days and deals for more and better sales. Time will tell. But as is I highly recommended this place! Included are pictures of well known clothing brands so you can get a rough idea of prices

Prior to the pandemic, I had stopped shopping at our local Talize, it was a Matt and Nat bag priced at $70 that was my tipping point then... the vegan leather is what makes that brand priced high but this one was made of stained fabric with only a bit of ‘leather’ piping. This was my first trip back and I think I would rather spend my $90 at a small local business.

The reason I am giving such a poor review is I am disabled and the handicapped parking spots are disgustingly small. There is no way I could have gotten out of the car and fortunately the driver was able to drop me off before they pulled onto the parking spot. You really need to do something about this!!!

It is what it is. A profit making business. I am a regular. I enjoy and appreciate the store's open, bright and organized space. Yesterday I saw and posted a photo of a navy plastic Croc beach bag with a price tag of 39.99. What a crock! This is SO offensive Tailize. We do know that these items...even those with the original price tag has been a donation to you. I would have said it is way better than Value Village ...however I can see the prices have certainly increased since the opening.

You must be willing to search to find the good deal. But they do exist! Of course there are some rip offs, you need to be aware of general prices. I enjoy going and walking through when I have time to kill and don't have kids with me. It's got a bit of a funky smell as as second hand store does but the smell didn't come home on my items however I did not buy clothing. With a donation you receive a $5 off coupon. I will for sure be donating my next trip.

You can always count on Talize to make you wait. 7 cashier positions. One open. Only 2 customers ahead of me, but each with 20 items. 5 full minutes to check out. That doesn't sound like much until you sit there and look at your watch for that amount of time. I had time, so I counted the number of Talize employees I could see while I waited. There were 4 employees, not including the single working cashier. It looked like they were standing having conversations in pairs, but maybe they weren't. In 5 minutes traveling on the 401, you can go 8.3km. You're half way to Trenton in the time it takes to simply pay and leave....Thanks Talize !

I use to love coming here until they hired the front end manager Tara. The woman is so incredibly rude and unprofessional. I was shopping with my daughter and mentioned I would have love to buy the pair of jeans I liked but they were to small. The manager who wasn't even a part of the conversation suggested i lose some weight so they would fit better. I am never going to that store again.

Store was clean, floor staff helpful, and even notable a gentlement who directed my to the change rooms which were also clean. The products I question the value and price from my perspective and experience. Further look at other reviews, prices and increases I went to shop for DIY Halloween costume, however didnt end up purchasing as from my perspective the "quality" didnt match the price "Britches" (Jack Fraser/Tip Top Tailor - perhaps 7-10+ years old) Faux leather jacket with hole in collar, "misplaced" (managment) in with leather goods however had a price of approx $25 the approx same price of suede pants. This is quite a high price compare to that of new, if you didnt know it was faux. Asspcted Belts for costume $3.99, a belt with the end totally destroyed, couldn't be used for a belt of that size, for still $2.99. The "rational" was, as mentioned, "misplaced" item and the, excessively damaged, belt were 20% off. As i result i didnt by the jacket, pants, or belt(s).I made a costumn with what I had at home. The products I reveiwed not worth it from my perspective and experience.

1st. As a commercial Cleaner Myself I just was to say that the person who comes in and cleans talize at night does a fabulous job and deserves the recognition. I personally know it isnt easy making a floor covered in lint from used clothing clean especially when none of the staff help out and sweep it thru out the day but everytime I have come in, which I come in often, it is always clean. BECAUSE OF HOW CLEAN IT IS IN THERE I CHOOSE TO SHOP HERE OVER VALUE VILLAGE. 2nd I have notice that your prices have started to sky rocket. Some prices are fair but others are insane for used and free donations i do think you guys are getting a little money hungry. 3rd As Far as the staff i have been in there seem to do a great job. I have never had to deal with them but one time I was in there I did ser a poor member crying well still trying to work. In my opinion the manger should not make a member cry and also should have compassion if they are crying to allow them to have a break to calm down. I just think that is very unprofessional to allow a manger to treat there employees like that.

Talize is a great second hand store. It is very clean, organized, and reasonably priced. I have found that there prices have gone up in the last year. However, they have daily 50 percent off different categories of clothes (or shoes, housewares). You can exchange for store credit for 7 days. The staff are nice. Well organized and clean change rooms. They usually have an offer going where if you donate a bag of clothes you get a 5$ coupon or a 30 off coupon for donating 2 large bags. The second offer is only offered occasionally from what I was told at the store.

Highly overpriced, especially considering the fact that everything they sell, they got from people for free, and they are a for profit organization. You're better off donating your stuff to the Salivation Army Thrift store in Peterborough, they don't receive enough donations while Talize receives too much and is getting greedy.

My wife and I bought 4 assorted men's shirts, 2 pairs of shorts for me, she got 2 summery dresses, and I found a nice pair of Nike shoes, all for about $80. I had never shopped here before, but I can't imagine why I wouldn't come back! Such a great value, and I did not feel odd shopping for used clothing!

Nicely laid out and smelled clean. And you can try on possible purchases, which is great because then you don't have to make a second trip to return what doesn't fit properly. Furniture and knock knacks were a bit disorganized. They have daily manager specials which are 50 percent off on whatever they choose that day, you just don't know what that is unless you visit

This store is so considerate of people not being able to wear masks for medical reasons. Best experience I've had literally anywhere. An associate approached me and asked if I was except rather then yelling at me to put on a mask like other businesses. Then told me next time I come to tell one of the cashier's so they can tell the other associates over the radio so that I don't get harassed. So refreshing, all businesses should be like talize !!!

GLUE on Price Tags Can you or your head office address this issue? The glue is soooo sticky it damages products especially books. A books in pristine condition is a mess with this crazy sticker and soooo large. Something with a different glue....please.
