(Translated) a fabulous experience! It was a team of 4 Canadian buddies who worked on the wood and decided to do their own canoeing and offer half-day excursions on the Pyramid Lake: a human-sized company with a top-notch service for customers. The canoes are beautiful, you are comfortably embarked safely (with children) for a half-day walk on the lake. Small blankets, binoculars, a stop on a small exclusive beach with a coffee / hot chocolate snack and some sweets: you are alone in the world. Your guide guides you in the observation of the surrounding nature, tells you the history of these places, delivers you full of anecdotes that immerses you immediately in the heart of Canada as you can imagine .... For us it was an unforgettable experience: a very beautiful memory for our children! thanks Mike, thanks Travis :-) (Original) une expérience fabuleuse ! C'est une équipe de 4 copains canadiens qui travaillaient le bois et qui ont décidé de faire eux même leurs canoés et de proposer des demi-journées d'excursion sur la lac pyramid : une entreprise à taille humaines avec un service au top pour les clients. Les canoés sont magnifiques, vous êtes confortablement embarqués en toute sécurité (avec les enfants) pour une ballade d'une demie-journée sur le lac. Des petites couvertures, des jumelles, un arrêt sur une petite plage exclusive avec une collation café/chocolat chaud et quelques douceurs : vous êtes seuls au monde. Votre guide vous guide dans l'observation de la nature environnante, vous raconte l'histoire de ces lieux, vous livre tout pleins d'anecdoctes qui vous plonge immédiatement au coeur du Canada comme vous pouvez l'imaginer.... Pour nous ce fut une expérience inoubliable : un très beau souvenir pour nos enfants ! merci Mike, merci Travis :-)

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. They provided first class service. Me and my friend were visiting Jasper for the1st time and it was going to be our very first Canoeing experience in the life. I forgot the person's name who provided us the service but he went above and beyond to enhance our visit. It was a slow rainy day, there was no one for Canoeing at the Pyramid Lake but he drove all the way to the lake for us and also offered us decent price. We miscommunicated about the location but he was really patient and friendly all the time on the phone and in person. Provided enough equipments and training for the 1st time Canoers. I wish I could remember the gentleman's name. Profusly recommended!!!!!

What an incredible experience with Mike from Wild Current. We had a guided canoe trip on Pyramid Lake in late October, and it was simply stunning! Not only was the scenery incredible - but Mike's genuine wonder at the surroundings made the trip perfect. Mike did a great job pointing out landmarks, teaching us about wildlife, and sharing stories and history. After he found out we were birders, Mike helped us identify birds, too! The hand-built canoe was beautiful, and every detail was intentional - binoculars, blankets, delicious snacks, hot chocolate. We will 100% (1000%) come again if we make it back to Jasper. Highly recommend Wild Current and Mike.

Wonderful experience on the guided public trip on pyramid lake. Unfortunately we didn't see any spectacular wildlife, Mike made the trip a great experience (he is one of the three founders running WCO). He really thought of everything: blankets for occasional rain, binoculars, cake, fruits, tea, hot chocolate for the brake. Nothing there to improve, he even picked us up from the hotel without us asking first. Would definitely book again and perhaps look at the 3 day adventure they have posted on the website

Went on a private canoe tour. Mike is an experienced guide. He's knowledgable to the area and the wild life. He's also a great host that for the whole tour, we didn't need to worry a thing. We were trying to track the animals but we had no luck. I highly recommend this tour.

My girlfriend and her kids came to Canada from Los Angeles to experience the Canadian Rockies. The highlight of our trip was canoeing with Mike around Pyramid Lake. Mike is a wonderful host and guide who made us feel very well taken care of. This is a once in a lifetime experience you shouldn't miss.

I wouldn't normally post a review, however since we didn't have the ability to tip Mike after our trip , I am writing this review in lieu of a tip. Mike was such a lovely guide that it wouldn't be proper to skip this. My family and I booked a private canoe ride on Pyramid Lake in the midst of this year’s record-breaking heat wave. We had the company’s owner as our guide (Mike I believe is his name) and he was kind enough to rearrange our trip for an earlier departure to beat the worst of the heat. Mike was very patient with us and made us feel at ease, even as we shuffled with our two young children before the start of the tour. That was the first win for us, it is NOT easy to get a 4 and 2 year old to follow directions. Before boarding the beautiful wooden canoe (other people at the lake also commented on how beautiful it was) Mike thought us the proper rowing technique. He even had little paddles for our kids! As we got into the water, Mike engaged in thoughtful conversation while also giving us room to enjoy the silence. I thought he did a great job providing interesting facts and pointing out elements of beauty that we would have otherwise missed. As part of the tour, Mike set up a lovely spread with fresh fruit, pastries and coffee (he even brought cream!) which we enjoyed sitting by a shaded beach. My kids loved the experience (and the sugar rush from the delicious treats). On our way back to shore, my 2 year old son promptly informed us that he had to use the bathroom. I immediately panicked thinking my son would have a poop accident in the canoe and asked Mike if there was any way he could get us onto land. I would have expected nothing more than annoyance at the request (specially considering we had just left the picnic spot on the beach) but without a flinch, Mike told us he “liked the challenge” and promptly adjusted rowing course to get us to an outhouse. Mind you, this was not part of the route and he had to pull us up to shore in a location that is definitely not commonly used for this purpose. But get us onto land and close to an outhouse he did! Both of my kids had a lovely time on the canoe and even kept commenting on it a few days after our trip. My husband and I also had a wonderful time and we would most certainly book another trip with Mike on a future visit to Jasper.

We rented a canoe last week at Pyramid lake and it was just beautiful! The equipment was great and we even got some blankets for the canoe so the seating is more comfortable. Great service how he brings the canoe to the lake and picks it up afterwards. We got a great price for 3 hourse and I had the feeling this is the only place where you can actually rent a canoe at Jasper National Park because other places like Maligne lake are just way to expensive with 85 $ for 1 hour. Great location, great service, great trip, can really recommend to everybody!

It was a great time having Mike as our guide! Since we visited Jasper in the middle of January, we decided to opt for skating at Pyramid Lake. It’s absolutely stunning and he made our experience really stand out. He also made a nice fire for us and brought some snacks. Wonderful way to end off the guided event. Mike is great at teaching and brushing up any skating skills you have. He is super knowledgeable and down to earth. Great time and definitely recommend!

We had a fabulous evening canoe trip with Mike. He's is a knowledgeable and experienced guide who knows all the best places in Pyramid Lake to see wildlife. He was also great with our kids (ages 8 and 11). This is a great trip for families or travellers who are seeking a peaceful and intimate taste of Jaspers wild backcountry, but don't have the time of skills to go it alone.

Amazing experience out on the lake today with Travis. We took the private 6-9 tour and got lucky with the wildlife; we saw a loon family (one caught a fish and fed it to one of her kids), a few ducklings, an elk and a blue heron. Travis was informative and his love of nature was evident. The beautiful handmade canoe just added to the experience. A must try in Jasper!

We were lucky enough to be using a new 17' canoe this summer ( red of course ), which was perfect for two persons, gear & lawn chairs for Maligne Lake. Mike met us at the put in and was great with advice and keeping in touch. Maligne Lake is spectacular - best canoe trip ever - stay all 5 nights on the lake if you can.

Awesome morning on the canoe with Mike. We booked the day before via telephone. Mike met us at the rv Park in Jasper and was delightful with our family from start to finish. He was fun, knowledgeable and a lovely chap to canoe with. He drove us up to a quiet spot on Pyramid lake and after a thorough safety brief took us in a wildlife tour around the lake. We had awesome cakes, hot chocolate and coffee on a private beach and took lots of photos. Great event in a traditional cedar canoe that takes a year to make. A Jasper must do.

Rented a canoe on Wednesday to paddle Maligne Lake - customer service was great! A guy came to our campsite and dropped off our gear the night before and sent us a few texts to provide information which was great to refer to because I have a horrible memory haha. (Translated) What a very nice tour guide! So enthusiastic about his canoe, which he made himself. We had some drizzly weather, but luckily no rain. Everything was taken care of to perfection, from collection to drinking. Before the cold there were blankets and gloves. Unfortunately we didn't see any wild animals, only a special kind of 'duck'. Here is only 1 set of per more. I received a lot of information about the animals. (Original) Wat een ontzettend leuke tourguide! Zo enthousiast over zijn kano, welke hij zelf heeft gemaakt. We hadden wat druilerig weer, maar gelukkig geen regen. Alles was tot in de puntjes verzorgd, van het ophalen tot het drinken. Voor de kou waren er dekentjes en handschoenen. Helaas geen wilde dieren gezien, alleen een speciaal soort 'eend'. Hier is maar 1 stelletje van per meer. Wel veel informatie gekregen over de dieren.

WOW! We loved our snowshoe adventure with Mike! The beautiful fire at the end of our walk and the hot chocolate and treats made it the perfect family adventure. Mike is so knowledgable and friendly, he was a wonderful guide to the Jasper area. We were even able to spot some moose after our tour thanks to his knowledge of the area! We can't recommend this company enough and we can't wait for our next tour.

Definitely recommend this company for canoe rentals! We were looking for a canoe for our overnight trip and found Wild Current Outfitters had the best price. Mike was extremely responsive and helpful when we emailed to inquire about a rental. He set us up with everything we needed for our trip including a huge dry sac bag that I didn't even know was included with the canoe rental, and offered us solid advice for our trip. We were so impressed and pleased with this company's services and cannot recommend them enough.

We had a truly fantastic experience with Mike at Wild Current. I highly recommend Wild Current's guided canoe tours and am so glad we booked this while we were visiting Jasper. Our tour was in Sept 2017, and the weather was a little unpredictable, but Mike reached out to us in advance to suggest a later departure due to the temperature, and had plenty of blankets and rain gear in case we needed it. Mike was so kind and knowledgeable, providing information on Pyramid Lake and local history, answering all our questions, pointing out wildlife (we saw a bald eagle, muskrat and several elk) and providing lots of recommendations (he even drew a map to guide us where we might see moose and other wildlife during the rest of our trip...because of him we saw several moose!) The canoe trip was so enjoyable, incredibly scenic and even included a break with hot drinks and a variety of delicious snacks. The handcrafted cedar canoe was a true work of art and added to the entire experience. We thought about renting a canoe on our own, but I'm so glad we opted to do this instead. Even with all the great hiking and sightseeing we did, we will remember this as one of the highlights of our trip.

He was flexible and incredibly responsive - we decided to go around 915, and he was ready to meet us and had all the equipment ready by the time we drove to the office. We rented a canoe from Wild Current last weekend, to paddle out to Hidden Cove. It’s been a very long time since I’ve paddled and we’ve never gone as a Family. Mike was beyond helpful, he discussed what size canoe we should take, provided suggestion on equipment and offered us more than we thought we needed - Just Incase. When he brought over our gear he took the time to ensure our children were fit properly in their PFDs and engaged them in chit chat about our trip. The pickup of the boat was easy pesy - they have the NICEST canoe racks at the lake, the canoe he suggested fit perfectly - kids, dog, wood and all! We all had a blast paddling to Hidden Cove and the help and kindness from Wild Current made us all feel a little more confident. Thank you so much Mike and the other Wild Currenters ????

There was no hassle, time crunch, or stress about this trip, all thanks to the way they do their business. All of that for a fair price comparatively to most canoe rentals we came across as well!
