I bought a dress that was expensive ($67) considering it was used. I got to the event and my dress tore from the back seam all the way up. To the point of having to leave the event and get a new dress. I called style encore to see if anything could be done considering the dress was expensive and faulty, but nothing could be. I understand I wore the dress, but it is a shame that style encore doesent take partial responsibility of faulty products when charging higher prices. My thing is, I could have gone to aritzia and bought a dress for $100, but have the assurance that if the product were to break, they would replace or refund me considering it was a faulty product.

Very disappointed. First off it was a man checking my clothes... I would think a woman would make more sense to decide which women’s clothes are sellable. Second, they said there was maybe some marks on brand new items from Aritzia ASOS etc dresses hat handy ever been worn. Out of the 6 items I chose to try on THREE of them had stains?! They had very outdated items in store and I was disappointed that they only offered me 4$ for a brand new never worn pair of heels and not a single pair of lightly worn designer jeans, dresses, sweaters etc. Checking out platos next door and hoping for more likely and nicer service!

I would give zero if I could. I walked around the store and compared to what I was offering to sell. They said they weren't selling heels??? I saw them all over the shelves. Mine were from Guess , BCBG, L.A.M.B and more. A lot brand new . They had garbage.

I agree with posters below. Bringing clothes in is humiliating. Absolutely love the store otherwise but unless what you bring in is a few weeks old they won't take it. Sell on kijiji and save yourself the walk of shame when you leave.

I absolutely love shopping here. I found some amazing deals on really unique items. Not my favourite place to consign in town, but they do take all season at all times so that's one huge advantage. They also pay up front so it is nice that it's a done deal.

Well curated selection of brand name and upscale labels for women. Clean and well organized. Don't fret when they purchase only a few of the items you bring in, they just know their customer very well and only want the latest and best items. Expect to save at least 60% off of retail!

This place! Amazing finds for great prices. I feel silly even visiting chains anymore, because you can't find a better price for quality clothing. Oftentimes their stock is either new in box or new with tags, so consignment doesn't necessarily feel "used" anymore. A hidden gem!

Great clothing - extremely snobby and rude staff. Act as though your items are garbage when most are brand name and hardly worn. I get that you don't want it or may be overstocked, but no need to be rude. Brought my daughter in with me, and the gentleman that works there gave the vibe that she shouldn't be in the store because she was sucking a lollipop. So we left because I didn't want to throw her sucker out. I will never return to this store.

I’ve visited a few Style Encores with family and this one was quite nice. As usual the staff were nice, the store was clean, and there was lots to look at. There’s also nice chairs to sit on while waiting for others to try things on. The layout is nice based on where they are in the plaza. The counter where you can bring in your clothes for sale is just inside the door with the shopping area of the store away from that foot traffic.

Extremely disappointed with a recent online purchase. Website states, "All online purchases including Instagram purchases can be exchanged or returned for store credit only. They must be received within 10 days of the sale." After picking up my item via curbside pickup (which was suggested by them) realized the xs ordered was actually more like an xxs. I was upset when I got home that it didn't fit and went back to the store the following week and tried to exchange it for something else. I was in a rush and couldn't find anything. I asked the staff if I was able to get a store credit. I was advised they were not able to offer me a store credit ...I could only exchange it. Never recieved an explanation why they wouldn't honour what their website states concerning a store credit. Hopefully no one else falls into this trap as well!

Just heard of this store and love it! Brought all my “before baby” clothing in. They selected some items and explained why other items were passed on. Based on what was on the racks they are selective and sell only items that are current styles in excellent condition; which as a customer I appreciate! Staff was friendly and helpful, even when my little one was acting out. Will be back and will bring friends!

I love this store. I always find something when I make the trip from Georgetown., and now their website allows me to shop more regularly from home. Great staff- incredibly friendly, and with only 5 customers allowed in store at a time, it's a safe, comfortable place to shop.

A while back I went in with a bag of clothes and I asked if I could leave the bag with them and pick it up later, as the wait was over an hour and I was getting engagement photos done that afternoon. I should mention they had let me do this previously when they first opened, so I thought that's how things were done. The owner rudely insisted I wait. We argued back and forth (she has terrible customer service skills) and I left the store upset with my bag of clothing. Every time I have been in there since she has been so rude to me...doesnt greet me as she does other customers and acts snarky if I ask any questions. This is one of the few consignment stores that take decent plus sized pieces, which is the only reason I even returned. At this point I doubt I'll be going back...the staff are rude and as other reviewers have mentioned they refuse a lot of clothing that was barely worn and would be taken at other stores.

Love this shop! There’s always a perfect selection of designer brands for dirt cheap! Be sure to check them out on instagram for posts. It’s easy to get lost in all the items they have, the Instagram account posts adorable outfits so that you can get a better idea of how to style a certain item.

This location had an incredibly strong, off-putting and sickening perfume smell. I could not even look around, as the smell made me feel ill. I would caution any one with a sensitivity to smells/odours to stay far away. I really can't comment on the clothes, as the environment was enough to turn me away.

I've brought in items a few times and overall they are very picky, which I can totally appreciate as when I shop I want "picky". But sometimes its just over the top. I went in today with about 8 items. I was very choosey in what I took knowing they are picky. THey didn't accept one thing. I took my items in on hangers in a garment bag...big no no. I got told very curtly that in future to not bring them on hangers. Ok....but seriously don't have to be rude and have it be the very first thing you say to me. Maybe a nice welcoming and appreciate first and then the scolding. A few of my things had been worn once, just purchases that once I got home and wore realized they weren't for me. A couple were casual sweatshirt material but dressier sweaters purchased from Nordstrom and worn once. I was told a specific brand they won't accept and no black dresses (I didn't have a black dress in my things). While browsing the store while I waited I found nothing of interest. In fact I really thought their quality of offerings was dismal. Other people coming in when asked how long it would be were also responded to in a very curt manner "its first come first serve". This business relies on their customers to also be their suppliers and this one for sure won't be back either as a purchaser or a seller. I would rather donate my items then be treated the way I was today.

I Love their Instagram account so I headed in to check out the store. They have a great selection of clothing, shoes and handbags. Customer service was excellent. The store is well organized, clean and bright. I brought in a few items to sell, and they bought a couple. If you love their Insta account take the time visit their store-you won't be disappointed.

Style Encore in Guelph, Ontario is apart of a co-signment store chain that buys & sells clothing for women in their 20s-50s. You can buy “like new” brand name clothing without paying the huge prices that you would pay in the stores they came from. Unfortunately, when I visit this Style Encore, I consider if buying their clothing is worth it. When I visit this store, I feel an uncomfortable and hostile vibe. In my opinion, the sales associates who work there have to force themselves to be outgoing and to act like they like working in the store. Their customer service standards leave something to be desired. Yes, it’s a chain store, but that doesn’t mean customer service shouldn’t be important. They claim to review issues that arise by a case-to-case basis, but it’s as though thats only said to protect their reputation. A customer should feel better when they leave the store than they did entering it, not worse, regardless of policy. When something can be done to make things right for a mistake they made, they should do that. Sadly, that’s not the case with this store. One incident I experienced in this store occurred yesterday (August 31st). I put an article of clothing on hold to purchase later in the day and I got confirmation that I had until 7 p.m. to purchase it. Upon arrival at about 6:30, the sales associate tells me that someone claimed the sweater under my name. When I asked if they could implement a system to avoid this, the associate simply said that it would take too much time to do this every time someone put an article of clothing on hold via Instagram. Please know that they maybe post 7 outfits a day on Instagram. That was very disappointing because customer service and satisfaction should always be number 1. However, an Instagram user spoke out and said that they were told the sweater I had on hold was available to them because I didn’t want it, which is untrue. Perhaps they need a better system to keep track of Instagram holdings. It’s very sad when an employee lies to a customer to protect themselves from get reprimanded by their manager, not that I think the manager would care about what their employees did anyways. It’s also sad when the entire post and comments are deleted from Instagram, but that’s okay, I screen shot it all. I stand by my review and I agree with the other reviewers that gave a low rating of this store.

Went in with various leather and suede items only to be told they didn’t want them because they don’t sell. Posted the items to Facebook groups and people went nuts to buy the items. Don’t understand the logic this place uses. They were very snobby as well - acted as if I was bringing in rags when most items were name brand - ie Jones New York, Danier etc.

I met one of the most amazing staff last week Friday. I rushed in 3 minutes before the shop closes as I didn't know they closed at 8pm. I needed a pair of trousers for my event the following day. Not only did Cole Bromley allow me into the store , he also assisted me in looking for a pair of trousers. Thank you so much Cole! You really are a valuable employee and I hope your employer realizes that !

This is a great store to shop, it is very welcoming and inclusive to all!! I'm surprised at the number of low reviews. Although they all seem to be from people who did not have items purchased by the store. The best is a comment that only women should be purchasing for a woman's store-thought this was 2018!! I guess all those male fashion designers should look for a new line of work.

I feel like the prices are marked high for second hand clothing. The articles are nice and in good condition. I can buy new clothing for close to these prices.
