Good product and I got what I was looking for however it took quite awhile to be served. There was an advertised shoe sale and only 1 poor girl working in the department... I watched at least 6 times while staff made their way in and out of the back room, some walking not even a few feet from me and not one acknowledged my presence or asked if I needed help.. had it not been for the sale I would have left.. kudos to the 1 girl actually working in the department.. she was very helpful after finally making it through all the shoppers... A few hellos or how can I help you's would have given you 5 stars...

No large running shoes (15+) and they won't special order in larger sizes like they used to (and every other store that sells shoes does). This is brutal, you try to support local instead of buying from Amazon and the local store doesn't even want you there. I'm used to stores not having size 15/16 in stock, but refusing to special order a pair is borderline discrimination. I'm not sure if this is a Woodstock SportChek policy or a new direction for the whole company, but I don't care to find out. It'll be a cold day in hell before I buy anything from SportChek again.

Went to purchase a bike there for our daughter and while she was sitting on it seeing how it felt (with her dad tightly holding her), we got told twice within 1 minute she can’t ride it without a helmet.. Even though there was a family beside us with 2 other kids actually riding up and down the aisles without helmets. By all means, I get policies and safety but cmon. Talk about being bias. Ended up buying a bike somewhere else.

It is definitely packed full of stuff. There is a selection of high end goods and low end sporting goods. Service was not to good a bunch of the ladies where on their phones while one was doing all the stocking of garments. The bikes on sale where not top quality and could be found online or in another store for cheaper plus no electric assist bikes. Prices at this store must be lowered drastically. If they want to see great sales numbers.

I called the service desk and I needed a snowboard waxed and polished before the store closed for use the next day. Staff couldn't say for sure but they said they would try there best to get it done in time. On my way out the door my roommate asked me to get his done. I came in with two boards to be done and they had them good to go in two hours. Their service desk did a really good job of them as well.

I bought a bike for my 9 year old daughter, from Canadian Tire. She loves the bike, but it came with a "twist-grip" style shifter. Her young wrists aren't strong enough, yet, to operate the shifter. She was able to shift up with ease, but couldn't get a proper grip, to downshift. I contacted the Service Department, at Sport Chek (Village Green), and they had a suitable replacement, "clicker-style." Thank you, Sport Chek Service Department, for your awesomeness!!! You went above and beyond, according to this Dad. She can now freely change gears, all on her own!! ????????

Arrived at the store 21st of July. 5 associates behind the counter. Not one looked up and acknowledged when I walked in. Who cares, I'm not special. Another client walked in same thing happened. There was three males including myself looking in what is not the shambles of a clearance department. Seriously, if this is a head office thing that has to be the worst shopping experience. 15% of your floorspace you can't shop in.. it's so disorganized and mismanaged. If it isn't serious merchandising should be done. Anyway, I couldn't find the swim wear for men. I looked around and long behold couldn't find anyone. No biggie I'm a big boy. I was about to leave when I noticed the swimwear was now in the women's section. Again.. that makes very little sense. But alright, times change and I'll adapt. Lucky me, I found what I wanted, had no idea if this was my size. Because I couldn't find anyone my first 5 minutes of my visit (let's be clear it was dead) I assumed/ didn't want to bother anyone that the change rooms were closed. So I grabbed and paid. The girl at the front.. it was like I was wasting her time. We finished, our transaction and when she handed me the bag she couldn't even look and say thank you. She handed me the bag and immediately looked away like she was too good to say thank you. Seriously awful service. Lucky me I got the pair of shorts that would have fit me when I was 13. So I went back for an exchange. Day2- the lady at the front was much friendlier held my shorts while I went to choose another pair. Again, no one approached after 3-5 minutes standing there. I wasn't looking for help really but your shrink must be through the roof. Anyway, I must apologize to the lady at the front as I received a very important call part way through our transaction. I don't know your name but I'm really sorry I was so rude and couldn't talk! Anyway, maybe it's just my experience. But there was no sense of urgency to approach or assist a client at this location either visit. I hope others have a better experience!

it was quite minor, but i still really appreciated the great service from gus in vernon over the phone. i called from penticton on sunday, and he found and put on hold some boots for me, and they were actually still waiting for me when I finally got there tuesday afternoon (as we had discussed, but still - sometimes stuff happens...) thanks very much, gus!!! I am super happy with my new boots... oh, and special thanks to sportchek too, for the unexpected extra 30% off the clearance price - which was already 62% off! I do not reccomend getting your skates sharpened here. I had to do it once when players bench was closed. My blades were oversharpened resulting in me having to replace them. Staff was friendly but training in this department needs to be upgraded.

While waiting near entrance for her to finish with a customer she yelled over "you'll have to give me a minute here" - clearly I was already doing that. The more polite way to say that is "I'll be with you in just a moment". You need a lesson in true customer service, won't be back and will spread the word.

It's a good thing the store is so big and has great selection, because the customer service is left to be desired. I don't know what those high-tech ear pieces they wear do for them, sure doesn't do much for customer service. Pretty sad when you come in wanting to give them your money but they won't even acknowledge you existence. But even when they do, customer service...lame. The answer was “well I’m not going to tell you everything that is on the list because there is too much” I replied “well what is on the list? I don’t want to buy an energy bar.” “I’m not going to tell you that either. There’s too much to mention” So I said thank you for nothing. I feel scammed into signing up to a 10% email bribe that you can’t even use. They hung up the phone on me without saying bye. Worst customer service for such a large company. Everytime I visit there is a group of three or four female staff who you can never find and when you do find them they're chit chatting to each other.Today I found them all in a group socializing in the changing rooms and heard one say how glad she was that she was done soon and I had to ask them for help. Jesus christ I know theres 20 minutes until closing but make yourselves usefull. The bottom line is when you see a customer coming towards you looking lost make eye contact and ask if they need anything. If you were my staff I'd fire you.

The Orillia Sports Chek is a good store and the staff are friendly. The store is small so has limited selection of supplies. We were visiting family in Ontario over the holidays and we were hoping to get in on a boxing day sale for a particular pair of skis. On our way back to the states we stopped into the Woodstock store hoping to get the skis - they had the skis, but they didn't have a tech to put the bindings on. This is where Blake from Sport Chek sprung into action for us -- he phoned multiple stores to find a store on our route back to the US that would be open when we passed and who had both pairs of skis and also a tech to put them on for us! Additionally, we didn't have cell service and he wrote up directions for us and we took photos of his map and everything. We got the skis in London and have since used them multiple times this winter and love them. We were so thankful for all the effort and care that Blake put into helping us. I have never had such great customer service and the skis have been fantastic.

I popped in to look around and noticed they had a washroom so decided to use it. They were all locked but unoccupied. I even tried the wheelchair unit. Had to find a staff member to unlock it for me. When I got inside I found the sink and hand dryer were quite disgusting. The toilets had rings around the waterline so they have not been cleaned in a while. I found something to try on and went to the change room but no attendant to let me in. It’s in the centre of the store with four openings to different sections so I walked out each side to look for staff. Couldn’t see anyone. There were not many customers in the store. Another person came out of a change room so I was able to get into one finally. I liked the item I tried on but decided not to purchase it and I left.

The store associates are full of stereotypes. I went to the store to buy special kind of gloves. I asked one of the associates if they happened to have that special gloves. The associate was explaining to me, but suddenly, a female associate interjected the conversation and said that the store does not have such gloves. Even if they have, they are very costly. For some seconds, I was shocked. I mean, I am the one to decide whether they are expensive or not for me. But the store associate judged me: I do not know on what basis. Both the store associates went away without helping me. I checked the price, and the gloves that I was looking for that the female store associate said were costly were just $30. Management of the sports check you should please look into this. Well, I will shop in other stores and never sports check, and I will encourage my friends and family to do the same.

They have decent customer service in the store but ordering online is horrible. I bought some boots online that first were delivered to their store instead of my home. Then when I got them they didn't fit so I needed to exchange for a size up they said I had to go back to the store and return them and reorder from the store. They refused to just order in my replacement for an exchange to save me multiple trips to the store. This is the worst online service I have seen ever. I am returning the boots and buying my footwear elsewhere from now on.

Nice Sport Chek attached to an Atmosphere. I assume that because of the general size of North Bay, they deemed it not necessary to have separate stores, pity. Atmosphere would make for a nice dedicated outdoor store like MEC or SAIL.

Twice I have gone in here to buy something and get to the till and get charged way more than advertised price. Have to go through an ordeal to get the price thats posted. Also when you buy things buy one get one 50%off you may want to do separate transactions. Bought 2 items at $16 2 items at $7 2 items at $6 paid full price for 2 $16 and 1 $7 and got 50% off the other $7 & 2 $6 items. Next time I'll buy the 2 $15 in one transaction and then transaction for the 2 $7 items and so on... Think they would just make it easier and not rip you off.

I would give less then 1 star if I could. My husband and I went in yesterday to look at a fitbit watch. We asked the floor staff how long the sale was on for they told us until tomorrow. My husband went in to buy it today (the next day) it should have still been onsale, they would not honour their own sale. The flier even said the sale was on until today. The manager told my husband "To bad go to another store." So he walked out. I wish I could post the flier but I can't. Sport check Midland needs to honour their own sales.

The guy just started shaking his head and saying no, can't do that, without the bolt we can't do anything, then proceeded to tell me about places where I can fix it myself. Super lame

A go-to shop when looking for all your sporting needs for all ages. Able to find good deals during promotional times or clearance areas. I’ve shopped here a lot, simply because of convenience and I’ll say that your experience will vary drastically depending on the sales advisors. Some are absolutely amazing; quick friendly, and efficient. Others are the total opposite. I try not to take it personally, some people are just miserable.

Great store but they never have any smaller sizes. I'm always disappointed when I need a size lower which "it does come in, but we don't have". I've been shopping or trying to shop at Sport Chek since it was in the North Bay Mall. The only thing I've purchased to fit is a loose hoodie, and a pair of shoes which I had to order online. Maybe I should eat a burger.

Well I can say I have spent a small fortune at this location. Usually happy until today. My wife and son were trying out a balance bike as we were looking for one. A worker with red hair and glasses rudely followed my wife and son around the store then order them to buy it if they are going to ride it. Unfortunately I found this out just as we were leaving and I am not impressed. I will be contacting for a formal complaint. And yes we walked out and did not purchase a bike. Poor care for regular customers. This worker seemed to have a power trip but what he needs is a lesson in customer service, my kid was three man show a little patience.

Absolutely horrible service. My 13 year old went in to get his skates sharpened and the employee took them, locked 1 into the clamp and left to help another customer. I asked my son if skates done he told me the guy was not back ther. I had to remove the skate from clamp myself as I was told he would be right there after finishing with this new customer. Brutal disrespect to 13 year old.

I wouldn't even give this store a single star. I use to be a frequent customer, however during a recent experience of a child being bullied regarding their appearance by employees at this location I won't step foot in here. I am not one to blame or point fingers, but there were THREE separate employees at this location that made highly inappropriate comments and/or went out of their way to direct negativity about a child's appearance that were almost inconceivable. I feel sick to my stomach even thinking about this. I am disgusted and will never come here again. Please give your employees sensitivity training and teach them the importance of meeting people in retail that don't always fit societys mold. You need to become better and do better Sports Chek, Timmins.. way better.

Well, I placed an order online Thursday am. The item I wanted was available in store. So instead of attending the store I tjough I would try curbside pick up. Placed my order, received email confirmation almost immediately that my order went through and to wait for a follow up email as to when I could attend and pick up.my order. A few minutes later, another emIl confirmation that payment went through but to wait for email confirmation when my order was ready for pick up. Today is Monday and still no email. Called the store to inquire and was told my order was ready Attended the store, asked about my order and the cashier went and got it. I asked the cashier why I would not have been notified that it was ready. Was told that they don't send out the email, it is automated, they just call. I let her know that no one called. That I had to call. She basically said oh okay. Very disappointed with the service or lack of at this location....5 days to get shoes that were in stock.

I went into Sport Chek looking for a pair of sandals I was in a car accident in April and my ankle is still giving me trouble. My therapist suggested getting a sandal that would accommodate my larger right foot and still give support. I went in on July 25th and my sales person was Nicole, right away she started pulling out sizes of the shoes I was looking for. I was getting disappointed because the ones I liked wouldn’t fit, she suggested the men’s version because they are wider. I could not be happier with the staff or the shoes they are just what I needed. I had an awful experience at a specialty shoe store Walking on a cloud downtown Orillia the sales person I dealt with there was very rude to me. Thank you Nicole for making my experience great. I recently purchased a mountain bike and child trailer at the Woodstock store. I was helped by Derric who is the head service technician at the store. Derric, you were absolutely fabulous! Since it is winter the bikes were all put up and weren't handy to get at but Derric showed us the different kinds, pulling them down for my son-in-law to try and explained all the differences between the bikes. I have never had such wonderful customer service. You went out of your way to help us and it is greatly appreciated. I hope your manager realizes what a wonderful employee you are.
