Don’t visit the south Edmonton Common store. They have the least helpful employees. I went in the buy a Halloween costume that their website said several were in stock. Nope not in stock. I was told by one employee to not trust their online stock counts. This was my first time in this store, so I decided to look around and pick up a few nicknacks. I go to the counter to pay and I ask if they can search their database of other local stores for me. The manager had to be asked if this was doable. Nope. So I ask if they can call another local store for me. Manager was called again. Nope, they would not even give me the phone number of another store. I was told to google and call myself. So I’m googling alright. They gave me a $10 coupon that didn’t have any min purchase amount listed on it for a future purchase. I go back and was told there is a minimum purchase and that there was a printed sign on the front door from head office. Talk about bait and switch. Never again. I expect better service standards from a Canadian franchise. Also this is a Canadian company and they don’t ship to the Yukon. Not this stores fault, but come on CANADIAN TIRE CORP.

Simply went in because we had bought balloons quickly at a place close to home and didn't end up with enough helium to fill them so quickly drove all the way to party city to pay to fill them... While others have used the same service they utterly refused to allow us to pay to have our balloons filled because we hadn't bought them there.... If their service wasn't so garbage maybe next time we would have actually bought our balloons there knowing we could also get them filled. Instead, we will never again shop for any reason at any party city.

I will never go into this party city ever again. I went in to the store this evening not realizing that they were closing at 8:30 On entering the store the the first thing that was shouted out was "we close in 5 min". No good evening or welcome to party city. Then at 8:30 another shout out "the store is now closed. I understand where they would like to leave work but it could have been expressed in a nice tone. I went to shop for items for a wedding reception. I will be going to the location in Langley to give them the business as the Abbotsford location does not need the business

I had a few issues getting a balloon to a friend for her daughter's birthday during the pandemic era. The manager Melissa was very accommodating and very helpful. With her help and the help of the staff working the balloon counter, my friend was fully surprised and her little girl thoroughly enjoyed her giant Big Bird.

Normally okay, but we got home today with our balloons and noticed it’s missing one, not a huge deal but the end of the popped balloon was there but no fragment of balloon to be seen in the carry bag so it didn’t happen while we had it. Edit: they provided another balloon, not a big deal that it was gone to Begin with but you would expect more for a balloon store. I am glad they fixed it when I had to get my second bouquet for one of my kids!

Come into the store a half hour before close. Go along and start gathering everything we need. As I am heading to the till my wife goes to grab one more thing and one of the girls says "can I help you with anything? We close in four minutes" in a very rude tone. Then the lady at the till is very rude and dismissive towards us and when we ask for a pinata she goes "well we close in 2 minutes" if I dont recall, you are paid until 30 minutes after close regardless. All in all very disappointed with the attitude of the customer service.

Obviously they have a ton of party stuff that’s fun to look through. However, I was planning my sons 1st birthday and...had some issues. I looked online for a balloon bouquet to order online for the day of the party. I couldn’t order exactly what I wanted from the site so I tried calling them to order. I called and they said I cant order over the phone but in person. (I live in Richmond and was hoping I could order them then my mom could grab them the day of). Anyways I go there less than 24 hours before, get the balloons and they were “out” of the shark balloon I wanted. He told me they had one left but Langley called and put it on hold (yet I couldn’t order over the phone). His birthday was a shark themed birthday, so this was a disappointment). THEN we wake up in the morning and the latex balloons are ALREADY deflated. I called and they said they only last 7 hours (which they should advertise). The price is decent for balloons because they have a cheap product.So I’m left to scramble for balloons. Honestly, any dollar store is better for helium balloons. Thanks.

I tried to avoid this place thinking it would bankrupt me. To my surprise they were a bit cheaper than their pop up competition. The selection is a bit limited to mostly costume accessories. However we found what we were looking for and for a good price. The staff are nice and helpful. The only problem is their checkout area is a long cramped area. Where people have to lean over the counter to let others by. Other than that. I can't complain.

Great selection of popular Disney and Nickelodeon kids character items. Not much in the way of Canadian cartoons (no "Justin Time" options, for example) hence the 4-star review. Anything disposable and party-related, and you'll find it here. Every item can be purchased in any colour, including plates, napkins, cups, cutlery, gift bags, table clothes, etc. Lots of variety of helium balloons in both regular stretchy and metallic.

I have been to this location a few times and never got disappointed. They have great collection of balloons, cutlery, party decorations, costumes, etc. There was a situation in lockdown, that I had to buy some helium-filled balloons last minute. We had to place our order through their website at least 24 hours prior to our pickup date and only show up for curbside pickup. I called them and the accommodated my purchase. I am very thankful of the friendly and helpful staff because they literally saved me!

Yea you can find lots of party supplies but it is 99% cheap plastic items that will break and end up in a landfill. Please choose environmentally friendly options for party supplies like reusable plates/cups or compostable plates! The gimmicky toys for kids loot bags are useless and entertain for very short periods of time, why not give just one decent item like a book or a donation to a charity?

I was able to get the balloons that I had asked for, but I needed the young lady behind the counter to guide me through their process of creating the order. Unfortunately she was less than helpful. The manager type was much more helpful once I came back to collect the balloons. Sadly, they didn't last long at our house. As I recall about 10 days. We have some mylar ones from another company which are still going more than a month later.

Love this store in general....EXTREMELY disappointed today....NONE of the staff were wearing masks and not one staff offered me any help or even said hello. Whomever runs this needs to make some changes!!! Horribly run store!! I was there today around 1pm.

Large selection of all kinds of balloons in Mylar and latex. Many shapes and sizes, filled with helium and made into a bouquet while you wait. The counter person was very helpful but they did seem s bit short staffed so be prepared for a wait. One thing I do wish that I could order and pay by credit card over the phone or online, then I could have them picked up or delivered. My daughter lives in Grande Prairie but I live out of province and no one offers balloon bouquets delivered in GP that I could find. Could be a good addition- just sayin.

Went there around 6pm on a friday and the store looked horrible... Barely any merchandise. Went to get helium balloons and only 1 person knew how to use the machine so there was quite a wait on that since there were other ppl ahead of me waiting for their balloons to be filled w helium. Customer service kinda sucks...since they dont know what they are doing. Id recommend going somewhere else.

The stock information on their website is apparently incorrect, checked both yesterday and while at the store - neither were there. Was told that if I couldn't find it then it wasn't there. Not very helpful or polite, didn't check their computers.

The young girl with dark hair and glasses on the front desk of this shop is fantastic. She is helpful and always has a smile. I bought a lot more from this location because of her suggestions and good attitude. The manager also personally dropped off some items I left behind at the store. Talk about service!

We ordered whole bunch of balloons for my 8 year old son birthday party. Balloons went flat over night as they don't fill them with sealant before filling with helium. Went to the store and wanted to rectify the problem, but the manager informed me then and only then. That they only provide guarantee for 12 hours. No one will inform you about this ahead or when you pay, or when you pick the balloons. He said I have to buy a new set. Great business tactics if you ask me! Save yourself money hassel and disappointment.

No helium in gas cylinders?? Seriously! Very disappointing. This place is known blowing & preparing helium baloons decor especially for birthday parties & events We ended up buying a helium cylinder from them worth $40 just to blow some 5-6 baloons

I came in on Jan 3. 2020, and recieved the absolute best customer service I've ever experienced. And I worked in retail management for 7 years. I just turned 24 Years old and Cassandra and James went completely out of their way to help me get balloons for my birthday and they went absolutely above and beyond to make me the best selection. I was extremely impressed with not only the service but the supportive and fun environment between the two workers. I can tell Cassandra is a really fantastic manager AMAZING!!!

I phoned the South Edmonton Common store two hours ago to ask if there were Large Harry Potter costumes in stock. Waited on hold for five minutes, then was told that there were several in stock and on the shelf. Just arrived to find two small Hufflepuff robes on display and no other Harry Potter-themed costumes. Grrrr. What a bloody waste of my time driving here!!! Not impressed and definitely won't be back.

Slowest service ever! 4 customers in the store and I had to wait almost 20 minutes for balloons to be blown up. Not one associate had a smile or asked anyone if they needed help. Very poor customer service.

The store is clean but the staff didn't seem happy at all. We bought 12 balloons and within 12 hours, 8 weren't floating anymore. In 24 hrs none are floating. Clearly they didn't put enough high float in any of the balloons. The cashier said there was only a 12hr guarantee and then when we came back to pick up our order she was telling another lady it's a 24hr guarentee. I buy balloons at least 4 times a year and wont be buying them again from that store. At 36hrs half the balloons are actually shrinking. Very disappointing. At other locations I have had balloons that last months and it brings such joy. In this world right now is it all that terrible to use a decent amount of high float to bring some joy. I would bet people would pay extra for them to last longer if there was an option. Just my thoughts.

I don't know why but I noticed all the staff who works here at this location is unfriendly and don't look happy at all. I didn't feel comfortable reaching out to any of them besides everytime I walk into an aisle I notice either a ladder or a cart blocking the aisle which means I cannot get through and had to go around multiple times and it was a very annoying shopping expreience

Lots of costume options not only just for Halloween. The store is nice and clean. It’s not on the main road so you have to watch where it is. They have tons of candy too. They seemed have few staffs working but no one is watching the costume section so you have to chase the employees and ask for trying the costumes. They don’t have a fit room only a temporary ‘room’ divided by blinds. Returns are easy as long as you bring back before the date on the receipt. Staff are friendly.

I had a horrible experience with a short-haired woman working at Party City. I asked her about a shirt as she was on a ladder & she repeatedly, very rudely, continued to say, "What size." She was so rude and it was very uncomfortable. When I tried to confirm a price with her, she immediately said to look below the item beside me in a very rude way. Overall, my cashier was very nice, but some employees need to be nicer.

Waiting 45+ min for walk in balloons on a weekend, sure that’s understandable. Telling me to get back into the long line up after waiting that long to pay for a $1 bag for my balloons is ridiculous. Your staff could work on their customer service skills.

Waited in line for almost 20 min, I just had one customer before me and there was another 2 employees who are just blowing balloons instead of helping the waiting person, the cashier on the till was talking non sense. When people are rushing they need to avoid talking much and complete the transactions.
