WARNING: Long message ahead. So my first interaction with CCS was with an online inquiry about getting makeup sealer before my convention a week later. I fully expected an email. A generic and impersonal email. Instead, I got a phone call from Geoff. Extremely nice and knowledgeable! I was assured if I ordered before a certain time I would have it in hand no later than Wednesday. I placed my order and received the shipment notification later that day. Sure enough, it was in my hands Tuesday! So yes, I rambled, but these days it seems no one cares about the little things that make customers happy. Well guess what? Candy's Costume Does! I'd give them 10 stars if I could ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ well done CCS, well done.

Even though the store is small, the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, and are willing to go 'above and beyond' for their customers! I had forgotten a small piece of the costume I bought, I probably wouldn't have even noticed, but the saleswoman who helped me, RAN DOWN THE STREET, to make sure I had it!! I mean, c'mon! that's amazing! Those are the kinds of shops (and PEOPLE) I LOVE supporting! Well done, Candy's! I WILL be back, and recommend my friends! "you haven't seen the last of me...!!" lol

Very helpful staff, good collections and they carry authentic special effects make-ups which I highly recommend everyone to buy to avoid skin irradiation and breakout risk. However I did find the smell in the back where the clothes are kinda of smelly.. maybe it's due to the abnormal traffic in the store but... Hopefully that can be fixed to make this store even better. **Parking is a little hard for me this afternoon, maybe nice to take the public transportation?

This is one of the best costume stores in the city (and my personal favourite). It's small, but they have a great selection and the quality of the products is good. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely worth a visit if you're in need of a costume, props and makeup!

I have been to Candy's Costume shop on avenue road on two occasions. The first time was ok I purchased a mask for 45.00; what was disappointing was that I later found the same mask on dufferin street for 25.00. I chalked it up to its location and accepted that I got ripped off. What was the icing on the cake was when I took my son in to purchase his costume. We purchased an inmate suite for my 10 year old and my bad for not trying it on. I told the women he was a 10-12 and the lady gave it to me; the store was crowded so I just took it, paid 50.00+ dollars for it and left. Got home, noticed the lady gave me a size SMALL and and it didn't fit. When I called to simply exchange it she flat out refused. Insisted she told me it was final sale (which she didn't by the way) and insisted that I asked for a small. She spoke over me and raised her voice. Most unprofessional attitude. Refused to help me, then when I asked to speak to someone else get reply "you can but they will do nothing for you cause I'm the owner" Worse thing, is that I found the same costume at a Spirit Halloween, on sale for 22.00. This store is over priced, just because your on avenue road doesn't make it right to ripe people off and over charge while providing crappy service. The owner made a conscious decision not to help me and wasted my time and money. Big mistake going there. Never again

The staff who served me said that to me right after the register said "approved". I have no problem with that policy. But to go around in that matter is absolutely disrespectful, will not be shopping there anymore. I'll tell you this here since they won't tell you until after your purchase.

I like the stores in the vicinity as well, as I can get to my favourite stores within 5 minutes of walking. The place is great and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for costumes locally.

A pretty interesting shop. It's a little small, but it has a pretty decent variety of costumes. I'm short so it was a bit limiting because there wasn't too much selection smaller than a large, but I still managed to find what I was looking for. Prices are solid. It's a little cheaper online, but with shipping it probably evens out and you have the convenience of being able to pick up a costume on short notice. The staff was very friendly, found what I was looking for right away, and then let me try on a couple of options. It was a very pleasant experience.

Good selection and sizes but the quality of the costumes is pretty poor for the price tag. There was a line at the store due to last-minute Halloween shoppers and the store is making hay with ‘final sale’ on all items. Felt a bit cheated cos we had no choice at the time. Not going back because of this experience, costumes’ quality and prices.

Candy's is awesome! I found out about because my wife LOVES Halloween (it's basically her Christmas lol). So, naturally once I found out about it we try to make a trip there at least once a year (for Halloween essentials) and to find other ideas or inspiration as well. The owner is WONDERFUL as well.
