Went there looking to buy a 5 Iron golf club today! The two young men who I spoke with initially, went out of their way to help me! In fact they knew of some clubs in the back corner of the store that had been there for a long while! They told me they were singles from old sets or might have had some superficial damage! Perfect, that’s what I was looking for. They brought out 3 different clubs for me to see and swing while they looked for a price! They couldn’t find a price so they called the manager and she informed me I couldn’t buy the club because it could possibly belong to a set! One of the guys helping me, cut her off and says the clubs had been there over a year! There was no set to match. Either way she wouldn’t sell me one! Brutal!

I was given some of the most laughable service I've ever received at a Sports check last week. All I needed was one item and I was left alone for 45 minutes just to find out that they didn't have my size when the online store said that they had my size but Low in Stock. After this little frenzy, I was trying to get in contact with a worker who was in the area and he magically disappeared. I walked to the other side of the store to find a worker and asked for some help to find an associate to help me find another item. After the nice lady called asking for assistance, the individual was still no where to be found after 10 minutes. I wasted my time in this establishment and I don't think I would want to walk into this building again

I left a putter to get regripped here over a day ago and came in to see if it was done and nothing. A golf club takes all of 10 min to do and the guy said we have maybe 10 of them to do, I laughed and walked away disappointed obviously! Maybe Sportchek should hire more competent staff and resolve this issue....one ???? is all you get from me, I would have given less but foronenis the lowest on the scale, poor customer service and effiencey of work! I tried to place an order online for a pair of adidas shoes and the website showed it was low on stock. So I decided to call the store and confirm if they do have it in stock. The male sales associate from footwear confirmed the shoes were in stock and I could come and pick it up in an hour. He asked my name to put a hold on my order. I was at the store in an hour and I waited at the check out for half an hour for them to find the shoes that were put on hold under my name. Then I was made to wait another half an hour at the footwear for them to find the shoes. I was told to provide the item description number by the female associate at footwear. After another 15 min wait she couldn't find the shoes. Then I was introduced to the manager to raise my concern. The manager didn't show any sort of respect neither any sort of responsibility for wasting my 2 hours at this store. All she said was they likely have it packed in the inventory but can't sell it now. I was willing to pay upfront for the shoes so that sport check might show some responsibility when I come next time to pick up my shoes. She was not willing to do that and neither was she helpful in any regard. I was advised by the manager to go through the same circus next time which I am not willing to do, since I don't want to look like a fool myself and waste my 2 hrs on something so useless. Reply to owner : I already submitted my review at the link provided. That was the first thing I did after coming out of your store.

With long lines, difficulty at check out, lack of help from store employees, and merchandise that seems all over the place, I was left going online to purchase during the Family and Friends event. I really do try and buy local but this place makes it near impossible to do so. I am afraid this place will go the way of the Dodo if it does not get its act together. Let's face it, Peter Pond Mall was never really that good, but as of late, it's horrible.

this location is by far the most unimpressive Sport Check location I have ever been to, they have 1 knowledgeable experienced employee in the ski shop, everyone else is basically a drone. the floor is never completely setup for a proper marketing experience and it takes them months to transition from season to season, i constantly check instore stock only to waste my time as its not on the racks. ive never seen the manager on the floor...

Worked Here for 2 Years in the service shop. Enjoyed every moment of it. My co-workers and the good atmosphere made it very enjoyable to work for the most part. Selection is also excellent considering how far North we are.

Sad to say the sport check here is like all the stores in the mall,( minus the health store downstairs, they actually help you when you need it and are super knowledgable). No one knows where anything is, how to help and everyone is so busy doing nothing just chatting with their co workers instead of helping customers. I asked for help to be let in in the back fitting room and waited for 5 minutes with no one coming. I finally went over to the cash register and asked why no one had come yet and the girl at the cash said "yeah it's better if you go to the other fitting rooms" (she tells me thug now...). Anyways I go to the "other" fitting room where I find not one but 3 employees standing around talking . When I asked if I could used a fitting room they said "oh all our rooms are full". So I tell them the other fitting room is empty and if I could use that one, they all look at each other puzzled and say "oh no this is the one we use".... THIS is the one we use??? As if the other one is just for show.... anyways to the least I was less than impressed .... if you go to this store just go about your business because no one knows what they are doing.

We had a great shopping experience at Sport Chek (Peter Pond Mall), in Fort McMurray, AB. The staff were friendly, not aggressive, and were always available to help/answer questions, when we needed them. Sport Chek has many fashionable/durable/long-lasting/quality/name brand products/items to choose from. Sure you can get cheaper items, elsewhere, but at SPOT Chek you are paying for quality and the items will last much longer than a cheaper/lower-quality version, purchased elsewhere. There were no agressive sales people, pressuring us to buy something. We took our time, walked around lots and looked at many items. There was a short wait at the Cashier, while the person ahead of us was being served. The wait was nothing serious, maybe 5 mins. The Cashier was very friendly and professional. She folded every piece of clothing, and neatly placed the items in a heavy-duty shopping bag. We were given the option of printed, or emailed, receipt. We chose printed, received our items and receipt, and we were on our way. My Fiance and I, really enjoyed shopping, at Sport Chek, that day, and we got a few great deals. Good job Sport Chek

Went to purchase a bike there for our daughter and while she was sitting on it seeing how it felt (with her dad tightly holding her), we got told twice within 1 minute she can’t ride it without a helmet.. Even though there was a family beside us with 2 other kids actually riding up and down the aisles without helmets. By all means, I get policies and safety but cmon. Talk about being bias. Ended up buying a bike somewhere else.

I walked into this place trying to buy a pair of shoes for winter and they had one clerk trying to handle the whole shoe selection. He was dealing with way to many customers than he could really handle. I waited patiently to ask for shoes in my size and it took him a while to get a pair. When I tried it on I realized he had tried to pass off the demo shoe as a new stock. Kinda insulting to my intelligence to think that I wouldn't notice a shoe I was holding in my hands 5 minutes ago. I get it was busy, but there's no need to be deceitful. At least tell me it was the last pair. Ordered the shoes online. Hope I never have to go back there.

In this store you can feel the spirit of collaboration between coworkers, in some opportunities you may not get the item you are looking for even, you always get the form of support from any of the workers, it is important to feel that support of the staff from this or any other store, in particular I have never had a bad experience here. Keep in that way.

Great Friendly staff helped me pick out some shoes. They were very informative and patient while I tried on multiple pairs. They endured my 2 and 4 year olds like champs and I was able to buy the shoes I desired in the end. Would highly recommend this sport chek to anyone looking for sports equipment, shoes or clothes. Hello SportChek, I recently went to one of your stores in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada, and was trying on some running shoes at your store. I ended up buying a pair, but some how in the process of buying these new shoes, i have contracted a VERY contagious Foot Fungus called "Ring Worm" I dont know if its because i was sitting at the bench and had my socks on while sitting feet planted to the ground, or if its the new shoes that i have purchased (have only worn them in the store and not since purchase) i dont get out much and that's the only public place ive been in a while. I was wondering if you could let your employees know not to let people wear these shoes BARE FEET or walk around your stores BARE FEET, or try these shoes on BARE FOOT. i dont know if i want to keep the shoes that i have purchased. due to the fact it could be them or your store location that needs more sanitation. please This has caused me A LOT OF PAIN, and discomfort :( . I shop there often and would like to go back knowing its a clean place. but at the moment i will not step foot into that store, and will be returning my shoes aswell. sincerely, A long time customer/ex-customer

Terrible customer service! Waiting in the shoe department for almost 10 minutes then went searching for an employee. There was at least 10 people working upstairs and none in the shoe section. Finally found someone and she said she would go in the back to find someone. In the meantime 3 more employees walked right by. 2 people came out of the back and walked right past us so after 20+ minutes of waiting for someone to help us get the right size we put the shoe we wanted down and walked out. This is the reason people shop online.

Exceptional customer service from Terry in the hard goods department. I was looking to buy a new badminton racket. I wanted one with good quality, for a reasonable price. He took the time to find out my experience level, and what I was trying to achieve with my activities. Also, Terry made the perfect recommendations for other items I needed to have and would not have otherwise thought about. Terry was a great conversationalist! I will definitely be stopping in again if I need anything else!!

My wife and i both called to inquire on the availability of Sunshine Super passes. After each spending almost 15 minutes on hold. I could hear then pick up the line and actually hang up. This is poor customer service. After calling back they tell me they arent sure if they have it or not.

I do not reccomend getting your skates sharpened here. I had to do it once when players bench was closed. My blades were oversharpened resulting in me having to replace them. Staff was friendly but training in this department needs to be upgraded.

Store is untidy, employees seam to lack information on the products, and lack of products. Told me my skates were going to be sharpened at a specific time went there and they were not even touched, then told maybe by tomorrow. I don't go there often maybe twice a year most times I can find what I need at canadian tire for a way better price, a few times the same item at canadian tire for almost half the price, it's my last option store and I leave usually disappointed.

This was the worst shopping experience Ive had in years. It took me and my son 2 hours to buy a windbreaker. After waiting for the store to open due to technical dificulties we had to walk through the store mutiple times before we could find someone to help us. The service was really slow but at least morgan was friendly. After an hour of staff not being able to find our windbreaker we go downstairs to checkout. Not only was the store and till understaffed, the one cashier seemed untrained and was very slow. Simple purchases took her minutes. The whole experience, which took 2 hours, shouldve been one that took 20 minutes. Hire more staff or have better staff training.

I wish I could give a lower rating. Staff is useless. Trying to find youth size skates staff kept telling me junior 1 is the smallest size. As I’m holding a skate off the wall that is youth 12. Had to walk out no staff anywhere line ups 30 people long with 1 person working. Crazy

I had to leave everything I picked up and after spending all that time in the lineup. Very disappointed. Not a good shopping experience whatsoever

Went in looking for a certain snowsuit for my daughter. She went out back and looked for it because it wasn't on the shelf yet. She spoke to me as a real person, mom to mom, about sizing and how it will fit by the end of the winter. Highly recommend Nadine at the Fort McMurray Sport Chek!

Hello I just am emailing to give a review of the service i recieved in Fort McMurray Alberta sportcheck store. I am an avid biker and have gone to the bike department numerous times and am continually and consistently given above average service. It is very rare to recieve exceptional service in Fort Mcmurray and I have been to all other (there are very few) bike shops in town and nothing compares to the quality of service at sport check. They not only know their information, they go above and beyond in answering questions, showing me how to do my own maintanence, and fixing things for little or no charge that other bike shops try to overcharge for. Worst experience ever in a sporting goods store. Waited 20 min.to get an associates help, Handed them two shoes to find the correct sizes. Waited another 15 min. Witnessed a couple leave the store mad. When we asked to have the shoes taken out of the boxes to make it easier to carry,as we were walking,was informed that because we didnt keep the boxes there was no returns. Last time i will shop there.

I just spent 45min going through shirts tags sale price same as the regular price. Racks saying take 50% off regular price. Get to the cashier downstairs explained that your sales tags are same price as reg price. Instead... all she did was scan the bar said whatever comes up on the bar code is the correct price. No that's not how it works in every case. Explained 2 shorts were 50% per the sign upstairs scans the barcode tells me there Is sale price. Dropped all the t-shirts with cashier and said this was the most frustrating shopping experience I ever had here. The cashier should had been trained on sale items or items that day take extra 50% off regular price. It's just an disaster upstairs how they mix everything together and prices that are not the correct sale price. I will not be returning any time soon. Its really sad how shopping in the Peter pond left me thinking well online shopping really is the way to go. You want to keep the money in Fort McMurray... Better think outside of the box and make customer service priority. Not a good day.... to say the least.
