I've flown through Cranbrook Airport a couple times and will continue to do so in the future. The worst thing about the airport is probably the parking, but I guess airports have to make money somehow. The best things are the short lines, friendly staff, great looking airport, secret hidden waiting area flightside, and short walk to parking. I can't comment on the cafe since I've never used it, but I've already said too much about the secret hidden waiting area. If you know where it is, you rock. If not, ask someone cooler :p

Small airport with a recently renovated terminal. Mixed GA and Commercial traffic, Class D with an FSS (see CFS for details, and always contact). Terminal has a nice little cafe, pleasant art work and is a great place to visit.

As a former airline captain with KLM / Transavia in The Netherlands, I have seen my share of airports. Canadian Rockies is one of a kind. The flight in/out offers stunning mountain views. When standing on the ramp (no boarding jetways/bridges of course) you see this majestic Rocky Mountain range. The terminal is brand new, fitted with floor to ceiling glass walls looking to the mountains, and overall very pleasant and spacious. Parking lot right in front (100 meters to your car. Staff are warm and friendly Canadians :-) A world of difference with the overpopulated busyness of your typical airports.

There was ample parking and the avgas pumps were well maintained and easy to use. Tower was helpful, and the gate is right in the parking lot so you don't have to walk too far from where your taxi drops you off to get through.

Small airport. Friendly staff and super short lineup at security check. Upgraded seats with charging stations at the gate! Installed a new fireplace with a long comfy looking couch which provides you a feeling of chilling at a lounge.

Great little Airport! Staff are super friendly, hardly ever a line up for anything, and things like baggage claim and rental car return are very easy. The only small drawback is that the airport is about a 15 minute drive out of town, so plan accordingly, especially if there are winter driving conditions.

Fantastic view from this airport. Tip: Stay in the left lane and stop at the dispenser to pay for a parking permit as you drive in before parking.

airport is small.and beautiful, surrounded by the beautiful mountains ,staff are really very helpful and really take care of all your questions very well. its a small city so people mostly know each other

Always a nice change of pace to travel through here coming from the chaos that is Pearson in Toronto. Have to say it though, my husband and I misjudged our travel time to make an 11:40am flight on yesterday, and missed baggage check-in. It was our mistake, but the Air Canada rep checked our bags and got our boarding passes printed anyways (thank you!!!) with a warning that our bags might be on the next flight out that evening (which would have messed up our itinerary big time). Security were super pleasant and polite and got us through quickly enough to get on the plane, and the baggage handlers did manage to get our bags on with us! We've learned our lesson to arrive much earlier, but thanks so much to all the staff that helped us out when we were stressed!!

Great place for aviation enthusiasts like me who love seeing planes up close. Family came here to fly home after car broke down for vacation around area. Flew with Westjet Link to Calgary (YYC). As far as the terminal goes it was very clean, and had a modern design. Great size for the city, and population. The check in hall had a really warm, and friendly, this one was very streamlined, and efficient. Great experience here. Hope to fly out of here in future years.
