I visited the Brooks Brothers located in the Outlet Collections on Niagara-on-the-Lake recently. I’d like to thank Kristian for being kind, caring and knowledgeable about the inventory, the sizing and my personal needs. I was greeted by him upon entry and he immediately assisted me with my shopping needs as I have an event coming up and do not know too much about sizing, wear and style for these situations. He was extremely pleasant, personable and did his best to make me feel comfortable and cared for in the store. While he was assisting me, a few normal human errors were made in the sizing and we laughed about it together and worked to resolve the issues and figure out my style. In the midst of this interaction, a fellow associate by the name of Mary came to assist. Mary was helpful in the sense that she was able to help me find sizing, but her demeanour and overall behaviours and attitudes made both myself and Kristian feel uncomfortable. She was chastising Kristian for his errors and took control over the situation, she was sarcastic in her response to my questions concerning formal wear and she dismissed me as soon as she learned that I was undecided on whether I would be making a final purchase on my visit that day. Kristian was told to leave the store for his lunch while I was in the change room, which prevented me from thanking him for his assistance and making plans to revisit for his help on a later date. I would much rather be greeted and helped by a representative of this company that has kindness and consideration for the customers over someone that is snobby but knowledgeable about sizing and style. My shopping experience at this location was drastically reduced by the presence of Mary and her remarks towards both myself and a member of her staff. Regardless of the great deals available at this location, I will be taking my business elsewhere to a location or other company that operates on a more compassionate ground, showing respect to both customers and staff.
