I feel so lucky to have come across Liza's website when I was looking for someone to make my dress. She's done an amazing job getting it done. It's honestly everything I wanted and more. ???? I had to travel down to Vancouver for my fittings and she made that a breeze. Visits were comfortable and quick. I had gone three visits with her and each visit, my dress was coming along more and more. Communication was never an issue. We talked for months before actually meeting up for my dress. 10/10 would recommend her to others!

Liza made our family dream come true. It all started with my mother. As a girl, she would dream of wearing the most beautiful dress in the world the day after her wedding. For some mysterious reason, it seemed to her even more important than her wedding dress. After her engagement, my mother bought from an elegant Polish lady a piece of blue fine velvet with a shimmering light that mesmerized her. As it happened, in the midst of wedding preparations she didn't have time to get the dress made, and her dream didn't come true. She was hoping, then, to get a dress made for me for the day after my wedding but it didn't happen either. Same story with my daughter, when it was her turn to get married. For seventy years, my mother was keeping this piece of mesmerizing blue fine velvet as our family treasure. A couple of months ago, she felt she couldn't wait any longer. She asked me to find the best dressmaker in town and to get the dress made for me so that later I would pass it on to my daughter and granddaughter. I googled up 'top dress designers in Vancouver' and found Liza Diaz. At first, Liza was not particularly enthusiastic about my request. This exquisite fabric, she explained, was very difficult to work with. While sewing seams, for example, she would need to place a piece of tissue paper in between to prevent the velvet from 'walking' on itself. Yet, when she heard my story and the material started shimmering in her hands, her eyes brightened and she warmed up to the project. From then on, she wouldn't stop working on it. To prevent an uneven puckered seam on the delicate fabric, Liza came up with an ingenious dress design based on apparent simplicity of bias cut construction. She suggested to add a floral applique with a beaded lace to the dress and to choose coloring that would compliment 'the drama of the blue velvet'. Liza designed and created a floral arrangement of singular beauty gracefully winding from top to bottom. She beaded it on the lace using four types of beads in different sizes. A brighter royal blue crepe lining was chosen by her as the base color of the floral applique to pull out the brighter blue highlights in the velvet and playfully peek out at the neckline and hemline. I marveled over this fascinating process of creation all along. The end result was a majestic dress that looked rather like a piece of art. My friends tell me that -- if one day I'm invited to a reception in the Buckingham Palace -- all the ladies there will be eager to find out the name of my dress designer. My biggest joy, though, is that my mother's dream came true, and the glorious dress that she visualized seventy years ago will be passed from generation to generation in our family. Liza is an Artist, and I thank Destiny for having met her.

It was so easy to make appointments with her and she had my dress done well in advance of the big day. When we went to the fabric store together to pick out fabric for this dress,s he was so excited it was contagious! She truly loves her craft and it shows in her work. The detailed lace and buttons on the back of my dress were absolutely perfectly executed. My dress had pockets and was comfortable to wear all night. I love to dance, so this was a must for me! Look no further, Liza is your woman. I had the most stressful situation last July when I contacted her and she literllay saved my life and of course my dress, making it the most stunning thing I've ever worn. Here is the long story in short version: I wanted to incorporate my mum's 40 years old dress into my 2 pieces dress but I trusted the wrong person... that person took $1000 of me and did nothing in 8 months but a horrible design with cheap materials and wrong finishes... , and after I called Liza in tears and completely desperate, she magically, from scracth, had my dress ready in under 2 weeks (as I was flying to Spain for my wedding). We went for fabric shopping together, I chose the most expensive silk and it wasn't even that much money at all! (around CAD400 for the whole dress, for the fabric). Then she, very professionally, read me, my style, my way, and created this. (The 3/4 sleeve is hand made from Spain but I'm 100% sure she would have done it if I had more time!) Liza did a magical job creating my wedding dress! Every step along the way she was brilliant, from picking fabrics (slightly purple instead of plain white and non symmetrical lace work) to custom designing something unique to my taste and even changing details on the fly. (I love the sleeves! Which also double as a bustle!) Liza was also very conscious of working with me to stick to my budget. I felt like she was 100% considerate of every part of the process. We had to postpone our wedding until next year but I can't wait to get a chance to wear my fairy tale gown. the clock was ticking and my wedding was fast approaching and i still had not begun to make my wedding dress. i decided to do a search for a dress maker and found two options i thought were best fits for me in terms of the work they do and my personality. i was so glad when Liza answered my call and said, "You had me at vintage table cloth!" Liza was willing to meet with me with what little I had in the sense of an idea and fabric. She was wonderful, warm and welcoming. I loved her enthusiasm for my idea and for working with the gorgeous, vintage linen table cloth I wanted transformed into my wedding dress. I reached out to with very short notice and she still took on the project. It was super easy to work with Liza and I truly appreciated her openness to me and my particular style and quirkiness. The end result is a beautiful dress that fit me like a comfortable glove. I looked stunning and natural and comfortable in it and shone on my special day. I had the dress made in a way that I could wear it again after my wedding and that, I will! I have never had a custom piece of clothing designed and made for me and Liza made the whole experience incredibly effortless and uplifting. The price and time of completion were perfect and I would do it all over again for other pieces of clothing. Always forthcoming with great design and colour combination thoughts. The Bride was very particular about the design and colour of her dress (as all brides are) and Liza was very good at keeping the process light and fun. Liza was always ready by the promised dates during the dressmaking and fitting process. When my partner, James, and I decided to elope on our upcoming vacation in Costa Rica, I hadn’t intended to go “full gown” for the occasion. But shopping for a special beach dress in October proved difficult, and I eventually went online for options - and found the fabulous Ms. Diaz. Liza did such a beautiful job on the design we arrived at. I brought her a folder of styles I liked and we talked through what would work best for my shape, fabric possibilities, and adjustments that could improve the design along the way. It was so much more fun to create something uniquely my own than to try on (and be disappointed by or have to settle for) an off the rack option. The dresses I liked were either outrageously expensive or made of fabrics that looked like they might burst into flames if exposed to bright sunlight for too long. ????☀️ Liza’s handmade dress was “just right”. We were able to find a luxurious fabric (without breaking the bank) and I got every design detail I wanted. My favourite was the silk chiffon, bloused train we added mid-way in our design process. I so appreciated Liza’s amazing sense of style, craftswomanship, and honesty in helping me find the design that would best fit and flatter. She really knows her fabrics, how to cut them, and how things drape. And she would also raise a (gentle) eyebrow at my “less-good” ideas. Liza made this a really fun process and it was an absolute treat to have something made to measure. Thank you Liza! You are one-of-a-kind.
