I heard Plato’s closet was opening in brantford and was excited as I had heard a lot about other locations but had never been to one. Upon arriving i missed all the signs that said I couldn’t buy (which I noticed on my way out.) I was told very quickly that I couldn’t buy but was welcome to sell my old clothes for cash on the spot. I was given some papers and info about what could be sold and was told that I was welcome to look around at the product that they had on hand at the time. I’m very excited to go back and sell my old name brand clothes and even more excited to go back and spend more money than I should.

If I could leave zero stars for this location I would. Terrible service. They make up their own rules. Wouldn’t take items in a garbage bag and had to come back with the items in a bin. Not sure why that matters as it’s just a difference in the thickness of plastic. Also, ALL OTHER LOCATIONS TAKE ITEMS IN GARBAGE BAGS! So I go back a second time with items in a bin and am told it’s two hours till they’ll be sorted through so I head home, yet 20 minutes later I get a text saying they’re done. So I go back and they’ve told me they won’t take the items as they aren’t t freshly laundered yet they were washed and put into the donation bag at home. Only at this location are my experiences with this company god awful. The Hamilton location is kind, curtious, and most importantly, great at their jobs! Do not go to this location. Head to Hamilton.

DO NOT SHOP HERE, RUDE SALES ASSOCIATES. I put something on hold on Instagram, they tell me they can only hold it for 2 HOURS! THIS IS RIDICULOUS! So i drove an hour and a half only to be told they gave it on hold to the next person! I'm infuriated, I will NEVER shop there again. STAY AWAY. Go to the London/Kitchener location, they actually hold things for you!!! Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had, if I could give it 0 stars, I would!!!!

Selling stuff here is a pain. They reject perfectly good clothing. The racks are full of clothes suited for 65 year olds, and they accept tons of raggedy worn clothing. The people who work their aren’t very stylish either which makes sense because all of the clothing is brantford trailer trash. They hyped up the opening so much for this plato’s and it was a disappointment walking in. They never post good outfits on instagram, and not often enough. This doesn’t go for all Plato’s, Hamilton is fantastic. Brantford has let us down again. I’m mad that I had my hopes up.

Just brought my items in and was originally told about 20 minutes to wait, so I decided to have a look around. came up to the counter about 30 minutes later as I had not received a text. only to then be told it'd be another 10 minutes, ended up being 20. All for a total of $15. The girl at the front was nice but the 2 behind the counter were not very personable. Huge waste of time, your better off to drive the extra 20 minutes up Highway 24 and go to the one in Cambridge

lol so I bought clothes here a few weeks ago, to be more exact, i bought a pair of guess jeans for $25, many shirts that were 14$ and above. my girlfriend went in and for the guess jeans, and two shirts, shes only received 13$, only for them to later sell everything at a higher price. and it was so low because the clothes weren't in good condition apparently, when none of the clothes were worn, thats just how i bought them from YOUR PLATOS LOCATION LOL. they sell clothes from the 1800s overpriced and wont take clothes from forever 21 because i dont have the receipt from them... ok

Worst place to bring in clothes, they offer you 50-85% off the retail price. I paid about $100 plus taxes for a winter jacket, and thought I would bring it here to get some money for it. They only gave me $15.75 for it. The jacket was in perfect condition too. I should of just tried to sell it online. Nov 18, 2019

Honestly a terrible experience. I was in today and was shopping asked for a change room and the employee was extremely rude and said “didn’t anyone tell you” and that’s all I got. Then I found out on a tiny sign saying there were no purchases allowed. I usually like Plato’s but this has been the worst experience I’ve ever had. I get it’s new but still nothing was communicated well at all. Just to add on the comment from the owner below goes exactly with what I said about how rude you are. Can’t believe you think you can talk to customers this way. Besides the fact there WAS NOT any signs. This comment tries to make it seem as though I am incompetent and couldn’t notice that. Will not get my business. Maybe there’s are reason your rating is so bad. As well the sign doesn’t say just buying it says open to buy.

Only local spot to sell used clothing for cash. Very specific criteria and items they are looking for - staff are mostly university students. They don’t always prioritize customers in order or seem to get the big picture of customer service. Often they give a very low cash offer for new, somewhat expensive clothing (~$30 offered for $500+ worth of unworn, on-trend Aritzia items with tags still on). They do not offer a breakdown of how much they offer for each item. Might be worthwhile to make a list of each item you drop off for assessment. Recommended with reservation.

Sorry they wouldn't accept the long shorts with brand new tags, original prices on them in June past as I had lost my receipt from the store and they didn't fit. Happy to say the original store took them back with no receipt and gave me a gift card.

Staff are always friendly. You may only get a fraction of the value of your items, but the process is convenient and they are a for profit business, with employees and overhead, etc. You likely could. make more selling on kijiji or facebook marketplace but -at least in my experience-it isn’t worth the hassle for smaller ticket items. Plato’s closet texts you when they are done reviewing your items and I normally get an errand or two in while I am waiting.

Was I ever surprised..they insisted I hade been told the receipt was necessary too ....yet another organization that "company policy" means you better count your fingers when dealing with them. this location.

The clothing selection at this location is great. The only issue i have is the pricing is absolutely ridiculously high compared to other plato locations. They claim their pricing is computer generated. But how can you justify selling a USED Nike wind breaker for $55!!!! I purchased a similar wind breaker at the cambridge location for $20!! Exact same size (XS) . Ive included photos. How can one location more then double the price on the same article of clothing when everything is generated through the platos pricing system? I onlu use this as an example. I see this on so much of your clothes. There are some good deals throughout the store. I feel as soon as you get a big popular brand like Adidas or Nike that sells well, you guys up the prices like crazy. I suggest anyone planning on shopping here to make a trip to the cambridge, kitchener or guelph location

When I brought stuff in I was told my wait time would be 10-15 minutes “not very long”. I waited 27 minutes which was very frustrating. Why give me a wait time if ur gonna take almost double the time you told me. Then they gave me back 3 clothing items in a bag under the reasoning “they didn’t suit their brand styles and some stains”. Each piece of clothing was brand new garage clothing never worn (with the exception of one shirt I wore out once). They accepted all the other garage clothing so not sure why those were deemed unfit as they were in perfect condition. Not the staffs fault but was disappointing to see how little money I got from the sale of the clothes, I think I’ll stick to selling clothes online elsewhere in the future for a better profit. Staff was friendly and helpful when speaking to them though.

Brought in clothes for the second time agree being told to launder it, and bring it in a hard tote because of covid so they could sanitize, no problem! I have a wool sweater in the mix of things I would like to sell to them . I’ve barely worn it so naturally, the wool fingers come loose in wash and delicate dry setting. I just got sent back home with them and told to launder again. They think I’m lying and that I haven’t washed the clothing so I won’t be returning. I’m a regular customer and the brantford location just lost my buissness.

Had a great experience shopping online due to the COVID lockdown. Messaged them on Instagram asking for what I wanted and they promptly replied and provided me with pictures of what they had in stock matching the description. Paid by e transfer and did curb side pick up. Very efficient and friendly service.

I love going to this store,I pop in once a week with my daughter.They have a great selection and the store is quite big and very clean. The staff is quite knowledgeable and friendly. There is one girl I prefer to deal with Malina,as she is so friendly,helpful and up on current fashion. I have never sold my clothes to this store but we love browsing the great selection! I recommend this store for both men and women. I will keep going back!

While coming to Plato's Clost Brantford, I had the chance to stop by and to see what the store was all about. The staff was very helpful and I happen to see the "only to buy items" signs which meant I knew I wasn't able to shop yet until November which is very understanding and a staff member informed me more about the grand opening. I also got the chance to speak to the owner in-which she is very friendly and took the time to walk me through the process of selling items to their store. My family and myself are more than excited for this new store and excited for Grand opening in November to come and be able to purchase product!!! Keep up the amazing work to all employees and also to the owner for being so nice and friendly! See you in November to purchase product from you; also Welcome Plato's closet to the brantford community now we don't have to drive out of town to sell and buy products!

I was disappointed with this platos. I was really excited about the opening, and the things that they have at this location seem to cater to an older crowd. A lot of the things I've seen here is expect to see at a style encore, not a platos. I hope with time the racks will fill with things that appeal to the demographic it's supposed to.

Took brand new items with tags, items were clean and bought with in the last few months and kept in a bin, they told me 45 mins to go through my bin then told me they were going to pass on everything. Don’t waste your time taking your items here just sell them on Facebook.

They don't want to buy New or Very good used items. But they sell disgusting clothing with hairs/stains/fading/holes etc. Get new People these people suck. Never Coming again. Worst Plato's in the world. Safe yourself the time and go to guelph or hamilton. Much better then here.
