Been a few times, you need to have the time to go through every thing at least twice, there is so much stuff here, check your items some stuff is damaged, I dont think they know that it was probably just missed when they were checking the items. The staff is friendly. They cant help with much, but they do their best to keep everything organized. If your looking for something that you know they dont sell anymore then this Is the place for you!

I went the other day and there was a male worker, super nice and I was easily able to inquire about any questions I had. However, the female workers there did not look happy or out going enough for me to feel comfortable asking for help. Otherwise, place is decent.

Their generous and efficient I come seasonally to purge my closet from clothes from new shopping. The rest I drop off to the thrift or donate can take half an hr but easy process of 15 min best on a Sunday. While I look around staff vis decent their selection is range of brandd. I got $50 and $70 the next time around $40 come July 2020 recently so it varies. Newer location is cleaner $20 for Levi jeans you can find some promising items if you take the time to look.

Very surprised by this store, I think I have been to almost all of the Plato's closets between here and Kitchener and this one is by far the best for selection and clothing quality and low-wear. For some reason many brand new items from Forever21! Scooped them right up!

Made looking for things in my size, style, etc VERY easy and I'll probably be using this website even after restrictions are lifted.

Great service by friendly staff. Sold my clothes for cash that took about 25mins to sort on the weekend. They are more open to buying clothes that are current trends and brands such as Forever 21, H&M, Zara. This location did not refuse fall/winter clothes like other locations do. They take whatever is stylish and fits their Brampton customers. Would recommend this location anytime. Thanks

They told me the wait would only be 15 minutes, but we were literally waiting for an entire hour. There isn't anywhere to sit while you're waiting expect for one small couch. They're picky. They ended up only taking two out of maybe six items. I made like $18. They couldn't even give me an even $20? (Considering one of the items they took was a Brandy Melville Skirt, and they didn't take my other Brandy skirt which I found odd since they say they love that brand). They didn't even call our name when they were done with our items like they said...We had to ask.

I have been there about 3 times and over all I have found many great items. BUT somethings are over priced & I have found many things that were damaged or stained so check all your items properly. I have sold items at this location too & just like other locations you probably will get low balled. The staff is nice & the set up isn't too bad. It's definitely a smaller location in my opinion and can be a bit overwhelming to shop since some of the racks are full. I would still recommend people to check it out. Just keep a few things in mind. Just because it has new price tags on your item doesn't mean you'll get a higher price. I brought 1 new item to another location they offer $2.40 and at this one they offer me $1.25 The original price was $22.90. If you want to sell stuff that are new try kijiji first.

Honestly disappointed. They told me the system they used, they text you when the clothes that you're selling are done. When I've sold at other locations, they text me when they've gone through the bin. Went to the Brampton one today, was told it would be 45 minutes and they would TEXT when your bin has been sorted. Not wanting to be a body in the store with covid limiting occupants, I waited outside after shopping a bit since they said they tell you when they're ready. Decided I don't care after an hour and a half and went back inside because it was so hot outside, and walked up the counter to ask how much longer and the guy told me they were fine a while ago. Maybe communicate with your employees and use a system of you advertise it, instead of inconveniencing people so much. Super unimpressed.

Can find a few decent items at reasonable prices but for 2nd hand the prices are a little too expensive. And if your looking to sell your clothes try Marketplace or kijiji 1st. I brought in Michael Kors new suede booties worn twice paid over $200 and they offered me $8! I said thanks but no thanks. Also a TNA jacket excellent condition with a tiny pea sized stain only visible under their store lighting I washed and treated this "stain" 2 separate times and. Brought it back 3 times as she said they really liked it but finally after refusing it for the 3rd time I sold it on kijiji in a day. Yet found a h&m job fair employee tshirt how is that trendy?

I love this store! I discovered Platos Brampton last summer and I have enjoyed both selling to and buying from them. They are very picky buyers, but I appreciate that. It means that they won't buy my worn out junk just because it's name brand - they make sure every item is in good condition, clean, and ready to sell. I know when I come here they will take only the best items from me, which means I have a great selection of items to choose from when looking to make a purchase! I wish they could take and sell more dressy/professional items, but I get that the franchise isn't geared towards that demographic. Overall, great store!

Usually I love coming to this location but I just had an awful experience that left me feeling pretty sad to be honest. I was browsing and literally minding my own business when another customer (a male) randomly came by and made a body shaming comment to me. I tried to just ignore it and act like it didn't happen because 1. I wasn't expecting that and 2. It was pretty hurtful and I didn't want to react emotionally. I was doing well at trying to forget it happened when I heard a staff member (again...a male) laughing about the comment while telling another employee. Honestly made my stomach feel sick hearing them laughing about it like that when I tried to forget about it. A store that has an emphasis on fashion shouldn't be condoning body shaming or harassment for that matter.

I got to say I’ve loved this place since I discovered it. I’ve found some amazing deals on name brands like Kate spade, lululemon, pandora, Birkenstock’s, American Eagle, Levi’s, Tommy Hilfiger and so much more. All the items I get are either brand new or looking brand new. But you really have to know the value of items to be able to make a good deal. The employee are all extremely nice and welcoming. I’ve chatted with some of them. One even saw me struggling with multiple items in my hand and brought over a cart. So nice of her. There only problem is the buying counter. My whole family cleaned out their closet and so I brought 5 bins to them and the barely took anything. They took more of my dads old stuff (including the ugliest sweater you could ever imagine) but not my young and trajet things. Really disappointing. I donated to value village instead. Overall, I still go there often for some good deals and definitely follow their Instagrams. The post all the good stuff there so you can put it on hold and go pick it up at your convenience. It’s extremely practical to shop from home. Platos closet Oakville is the best for that.

This is one of my favourite Plato's to shop and sell with! The staff are ALWAYS so friendly and personable, which is why I drive the extra 20 minutes to this location instead of my local Platos Closet. I also never leave empty handed because there’s some fantastic finds if you take the time to look around and through everything. The selection from a shoppers standpoint definitely leaves something to be desired. I think they need to clarify the reasons for not accepting certain things a little better, they say it’s “older styles” but when I actually go through the racks I don’t see anything amazingly eye catching and trendy, most items are dated. I think they’re catering to a specific clientele, the clothes here are for 15-16 year old girls who still think American Eagle and Bluenotes is stylish and spend $10 on frozen yogurt.

Ive been to 3 other locations and this one is ny far the trendiest. It is located in an older part of Brampton but when you get in it really feels like a thrift store. It has that vintage stylish feel to it. When selling, the buyer was really nice and explained why they didnt purchase my items.

They have specific hours of operation on their website and on their door but when you do there the doors are closed. For example I went on Friday Dec 4th their website and door said closing 7PM but when I got there at exactly 6PM the door was locked. Next day got there at 1:45pm and again door closed. Not sure what's happening but if their hours are adjusted they need to update their signs.

Five star for great bargains and great selection of woman's clothing. Would love to see more items for men. I gave a four because on the four last occasions I've been here. The clef k .. The same one has three times been on her phone and preoccupied and the last occasion she was talking to what appeared to be a friend, being the conversation was about a Sunday afternoon family event gone wrong . Couldn't help but listen . You weren't in a rush to make a sale! Lol and left me standing there waiting for over 5 minutes without even acknowledging my presence .. Not cool!

I've been to most Plato's locations such as Mississauga, Oakville, Milton and Brampton, and Brampton is by far my favourite location for both selling and buying. It's a bit of a drive for me but I feel it's always worth. The staff is super friendly and their instagram game is pretty engaging. They are also the only location to adapt to the covid restrictions and create an online experience which I was really excited about! I love thrifting and this location has all the goodies!

Never ever coming back. I made a purchase online, went to pick it up, they gave me only half of my stuff, I had to go all the way back there to ask for the rest. (I don't live in the area) I bought a mistery bundle too that came with an item missing and the items had all wrong sizes, with defects, including men's items????. Its not even the money at this point, it's the consideration a business has for their customers. I sent an email to the store to show my disappointment and they didn't even bother replying to it. In difficult times like this, we should all shop in small stores and support them, but some stores don't appreciate our business. It's sad.

I've managed to pick up some decent pieces here over the past 2-3 years, but tbh the vibe is really negative in the store. The staff are really sweet, but you can just tell they aren’t fully comfortable around management. I can understand why, if I'm correct, management/ownership are this blonde and brunette women, and every time I come in and they're at the front, they always seem grumpy and their faces are uninviting. Their clothing is also inconsistent. I tried selling here once, decent, wearable and brand clothing was rejected for looking too "professional" lol. I brought the clothing based on what I saw in the store so idk. I like the mission of the store, but would love to see changes in the atmosphere and their buying tendencies.

Also I brought in some brand-new Lululemon items with tags on each of them and they wanted to give me literally $28 bucks for it. I sold the items on another site for almost the same price I bought them for. The have some new items in there with tags on and they're selling for triple what they offered me for my stuff...

Amazing selection ! Feels so great to walk into a place and can find literally anything. Im saddened that i had a low expectation for this place and didnt bring much cash with me. Im totally preparing myself fpr my next visit. The staff was very helpful and i love the cleanliness of the place. Theres so much to choose from that your eyes cant just stick to one place. I think that its very convient to put their prime line in front of the store ( means that the pick the high end brands and place it next to the front door ) you cant miss it. Their selection of purses and wallets are to die for and they have a good amount of jewlery is stunning. Im going back next week ready for the next great buy.

Bit of attitude with the staff literally at the second the clock is 15 mins to close. I went to the cash and she said in a very mean tone while not even looking at me "Go to the next cash sir, I'm closing here for the evening". The other employee told me sternly that were closed with the most serious look on her face. Do you really hate customers that much? If you don't want to serve customers at that time then close earlier!!! That's better than being rude and kicking customers out!

AMAZING concept but this store just does it wrong. they will rarely take in any of your clothes and when they do they give little value back, meanwhile, they overprice half their items and some of the things that they have there make me wonder why they would take that in. the employees are hit or miss, some are kind and genuine while others are rude and have a big ego. everytime I try to go back to give them another chance I am just more disappointed than the last.

Honestly THEY WILL NOT BUY YOUR ITEMS FOR WHAT THEY SAY THEY WILL BUY YOUR ITEMS FOR. It was so frustrating talking to the girl about how much they give for each item. Apparently they give 30 % of what they retail the item for in there store, which I was fine with. They processed my stuff and they took three items from me and they offered me 13 dollar for all 3 items. I thought that sounds off so then I asked the lady how much 2 of my items( a plus size fall jacket and never worn boots ) were retailing for in their store. I was told 50$ for the jacket and 20$ for the boots. when I heard this I asked the lady at the desk why I was getting so little she told me that they take into consideration the style,the brand,the size. I told the lady that I understood that they take that into consideration when picking what items to take but I was told that they give 30% of what they retail the item for in their store. I told her I was in a bit of a rush and I was hoping she could check that for me if thats was right. she told me that if I didn't want to sell my items I could take them back. the lady repeated herself a couple of times mentioning that the style of the clothes was a little bit older and that it was plus sized. As i was in a bit of a rush and I needed the money I sold it to them but when I got home I wanted to double-check the math properly. I knew she was wrong( 30% of $50 is $15 and 30% of $20 is $6 I'm not the best at doing percentages in my head in a rush).She should have give me at least $21 thats not including the t shirt they also took!!! THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOU 30 % !!! They give you what they want to give you.

Honestly ill advise people to go somewhere else. Second time there,and i had to decline payment offered, also the attitude from the second you enter the store blows my mind, Please, there is no point taking your items to sell there, save ur gas and go to other places much nicer and with friendlier staff.(i was treated sooo much better and offered a price that made me happy) If you do not have money to offer just say so instead of declining trendy pieces with some lame excuses, I had to laugh when i heard some of the excuses the lady made up. Your website says one thing and its another story in the shops, i brought items as listed on their website that was accepted!!!!but was told people do not purchase those same items that were listed on the website. Very Pathetic. I heard some1 mention on their google review page that there are a little racist yes i agree unfortunately. The friendliness of the staff is inconsistent between customers. I get the impression that they might be ageist or racist. One visit, it was evident that my backpack had been searched through when they requested that I leave it at the front desk. In other instances, staff was nice when greeting me but passively rude (i.e. ignoring) at the checkout. Even though they have a decent selection, sanitary inventory, and fair prices, I do not feel comfortable returning back to this location.

Sometimes you find good items in the men’s section, not as often as before. Currently the men’s selection is limited. When I brought in my clothes in good condition and that are brands such as Ralph Lauren , Tommy Hilfiger , diésel and Hollister the buyers said that my items don’t sell very well .. New location on main is good with Plenty of parking. I had good experience at the kennedy location with decent items at fair prices. But when i checked out the new location i was disappointed. Not only is the merchandise sub par. But the only few decent items was overpriced many of which i could buy for the same price at the department store. When i asked the ladies at the front counter some questions. They didnt even care to check what was clearly behind them. I hope that platos brampton can get back to the good staff. This location has the rudest staff. We drove past and decided to stop in, granted we were unaware that it was close to closing. We walked in and greeted rudely with "We're closing" and the associate just walked away. There was 7 minutes left in the hour so I assumed since the door was not locked + closING and closED are two different things, that maybe they we could take a quick look around. When another lady came and said "You heard we're closed right". Mind you, there are no hours even visible to the customer when we walked in. I will probably never make the drive back to this store and will make sure others don't waste their time making the visit either.

The men’s clothing selection is very poor and generic, It seemed like they put little to no effort into that section....I actually noticed that one of the pairs of jeans were way over priced for a pair of jeans that had paint stains all over It for $20....and it was not meant to be the style of it because the way the paint looks definitely shows someone had used them for a painting job, got paint on them and had no other option but to throw them out of give them away....as well as the music doesn’t seem to appeal to many people I have noticed that they played the same type of music continuously and the music variety is not good at all. I would recommend expanding their music options to something more appealing to different demographics. Once you apply music that appeals many different people, it really will attract others to come in more. On a positive note there was an employee named Madison that had gone out of her way to ensure that I had the best experience possible and it really did make me feel welcome. It was actually the first time I’ve ever had that type of support when coming in the store.

Went to sell some stuff that was in excellent condition TNA to be exact the girl who processed my things handed it back telling me that it didn’t sell well for them.. yet today I went in and purchased a brand new tna sweater. It’s clean but the staff is snobby and no one really says hello as customers walk in the door. Half the items you find are worn out or stained or damaged. Not worth shopping here!

Even if it’s a retail job they take passion in their job. Compare their social media to the Mississauga location and you can see why people love the Brampton location more. I came with low expectations since I've read the reviews before hand. The staff is not the worst but not the best either. They have very limited high end products but most are h&m, forever 21, Abercrombie, American eagle etc. So I found it weird that they ONLY accept high end designer labels from customers but the clothes on the rack are your common average labels. So something seems shady here. Also they're not really cheap considering it's a thrift store. But they do have really good sales from time to time and their stuff become very cheap. So it's alright I guess.

I agree with the previous comment. My first time was nothing special, the associates seemed bored, they were trying to be friendly but it didn't feel genuine. Second experience was awful. It was a busy day, they told us the wait time, which was totally fine. What I didn't like was after each customer left they would gossip loudly about them and their stuff, loud enough for anyone in the front of the store to hear., super unprofessional. It made me feel uncomfortable to think if they said about me after I left. I will never go back to that location. I went to the one in Mississauga and their service was awesome. Lots of staff, young friendly girls, not judging or gossiping. Not to mention a bigger and more organized store.

Customer service here is the worst I’ve ever had. Everyone is on their phone or talking to someone - forcing you to have to wait at the cash desk until you can get their attention. They take about and hour to go through your things and only take a few things you will usually only make a few bucks as they give you less than 30%. Also while they look through your things there isn’t many places to wait so your forced to look around. You’ll find everything is either over priced or in bad/unwearable condition. Anything worth buying in this store is way too expensive.

Extremely disappointing customer service. I was told I would get a text in 30 mins after they evaluate my items. I waited for an hour and still hadn't received a text. I went back in the store and my items were already done being evaluated and they decided to pass on them for today. After waiting an HOUR for a text and then being sent away was totally ridiculous. This store is OK, not the best though. I brought in a TON of clothes, enough clothes for to fill a whole new wardrobe. They did buy a lot of things, but they were also SUPER picky. I have two cats and sometimes cat hair sticks to my clothing. Well as soon as they say cat hair on anything they immediately rejected it. I have never been to a platos closet that didn't at least lint roll the stuff. They rejected quite a few brand new things with tags on them. Why? I don't even know. What really bothered me was that it was a guy sorting through my clothes. Not a girl who would be the most up to date of GIRLS fashion. At one point the manager came over. She looked at one of the things and said, oh this is cute, is it damaged, why are we not taking it? He showed her a tiny little mark on it. She took it over to the other counter and wiped it down with some water? I guess it was. It came right off. It was brand new with the tags. So they ended up buying it. It was little things like that? I've never been to a platos closet where they just completely disregard something at the tiniest of marks without even wiping it first. So the manager started to look through some of my stuff and she said she would have loved to take it all but some things needed to be re-laundered. So I took what they didn't buy and re-laundered it. I came back the very next day and it was yet again another GUY looking through my stuff. Not even the same guy as the day before. He still took a lot of my clothes. But some of the clothes that even the manager told me she would love to buy if they were re-laundered, he didn't take. It was a little ridiculous. I mean, I got about $80 for my clothes on each day. So I made out with like $160 for my used clothes. But like I said I brought in enough clothes to complete a whole new wardrobe. I just feel that this store is way too picky. I also feel that they shouldn't have guys sorting through girls clothing. Especially guys who don't even look like they're into fashion whatsoever. At least they sure don't dress like it. I probably won't return to this location. I'll find another one.

I went into this location today, (Saturday) to see if Platos would buy my items. As soon as I walked in I noticed the girl behind the counter was carrying an infant (baby). I thought that was very unprofessional. I felt like she was not focused onto what she was doing towards her job. Why would you be holding an infant on one hand while looking at strangers items on the other hand. Isn't there policies and procedures they follow at Plato's?? Bad first, experience!!

Plato’s Closet is one of my favourite place to shop. Plato’s Closet Brampton though** has a certain attention to detail unlike any other I have been to. They consistently offer Large BRAND name items for outlet prices. On top of that Inventory is always rotating with new seasonal trends and i have purchased so many items with original tags on…. Whhhattt, Love IT. From experience when selling my own clothes, the items are inspected meticulously (for authenticity and cleanliness). Which is appreciated as a customer, I know every item i have previously purchased has been handled with that sort of attention in mind. Prices are completely reasonable and staff have always been pleasant.

I would recommend the Brampton platos closet to anyone! The staff is very friendly and knowledgable, especially Leanne. They are very thorough when looking at items before purchasing ensuring everything is authenticated and in good condition. They send things home if they have stains which is reassuring when shopping there. Have been to this location a couple times. The first when they were just buying, and not yet selling. The experience was pleasant and the woman working was super friendly. I was impressed, up until my second visit the other day. I was selling my things, and was told that my things would be gone through shortly, and it wouldn't take too long, as she was going through someone elses items before mine. I was fine with waiting, as I was in no rush, however, when you find the person that is SUPPOSED to be looking at your items is gossiping and talking to another woman, at an upwards of 10-15 minutes, it's a little discouraging. Finally, the woman she was talking to walked away, and she began going through my items. I found it incredibly disrespectful, and won't be returning. It's one thing to have a few words with your coworker, but it's another to start a full conversation while a customer is waiting, as if my time is worth a mere fraction compared to conversation.

One of my favourite places to shop! Great stuff at amazing prices! Alot of stuff I found is brand new with tags on it! Lots of brand names and everything is in great condition. Reading some previous reviews I agree that they sometimes are selective when buying clothes, but as a shopper I think that's a good thing - this isn't your average second hand store that will just take anything. As a person selling your clothes, for me really the other option is to donate it so I think getting a few bucks for each item is better than nothing at all. And for the last comment about the employee and the baby, I've seen her there before and I think she is the owner who I'm assuming is on maternity leave and came in to check on things and maybe help out. In this day and age I would think most people would be a bit more accepting of a new mom who is also an entrepreneur trying to run her own business.

Very disappointed ordered through there online site. Went to pick up the items and the condition was terrible. The logo on the clothes was worn out (missing sections) and discoloured (red circles in logo. To top it off the item was not even authentic as advertised on site. I will never order online from them again as it’s very misleading... any damages should be shown in the pictures so people can make a valid choice based on condition to purchase or not. Also no refunds so it is even more of a waste for me. I drove all the way from Toronto to pick up.

Don't expect a text back from them when they tell you it will be 15-30mins. They'll quickly go through the clothing then tell you things with tags still on them are out of style. But if you look around the store looks like the clothing haven't been updated since 2012. Whatever they do take expect pennies. Might as well donate it to a shelter....
