This place is great for when you want a little fan service. Loads of geekery to choose from. Harry Potter, Star Wars, Anime, and some cosplay accessories as well. They sell graphic tees of various movies, video games, and anime series too. They have a sale rack of clothing with some relics of a gothier day. Totoro earrings for the win. I believe they sell piercings and plugs as well. This store is very small and cramped. If you are claustrophobic then this shop ain't for you. Definitely the one stop shop for your nerdy needs. Enjoy.

This location is no different than any other Hot Topic. Except I will say that they graciously did an exchange during boxing week for me, and I was driving from out of town. I called them in Boxing Day and they were quick to confirm they had what I needed and put it aside for me. They also cautioned me to wait til the next day to do the exchange. They pretty much saved Christmas, and the lady who helped on the phone was cheery despite it being a crazy day for retail workers. The staff were friendly and looked like they were having fun.

this is by far my favourite hottopic location, it has the best deals. you could go to square one and spent all full price while at BCC you can get tons of stuff for the price of one. also to everyone angry at the hottopics prices, you got to remember that this is a licesend company, and the hottopic website is usually on USD not CAD so of course in store is going to cost more. also everyone knows hottopic is expensive so dont act surprised when you see a graphic tee for $30

the customer service is always awesome. I came in here with my boyfriend, and it seemed like they were sold out of the shirt. The worker let me get the last one which was on display. she was very kind even with my terrible social anxiety. Prices are high about $30 a shirt but I usually come when there is a sale so you can get 2 shirts for $20 each. The quality of the shirts are good they last me about 2 years and I have put it in the laundry about 100 times.

I went in with a friend and there was a wide variety of merchandise available to purchase. However, the floors were quite grimy with pieces of garbage littered about. The two staff that were on duty that Friday afternoon were friendly but more interested in gossiping about their boss than offering service. If I had to purchase an item here I would, but believe me when I say that I'll be exhausting every other possible option first.

I was here looking for some items. More pop culture or hipster. What great staff. I was asked by three people if I needed help. I did get help on two separate occasions looking through all the stuff. They clearly examined several specials and clearance items. It was nice that they gave me a discount on an item when I thought I did not meet the sale requirements. SWEET!

A great place for band, anime, comic, video game, and movie/show merch. They also offer some punk and wiccan style products, jewelry, makeup, pins, hair dye, and more. I encourage taking a look around the physical store as the staff seem friendly and it's a fun place to shop. However, I'd avoid the online store. The selection is great but sizing can be very difficult to gauge, even with sizing charts. I ordered three shirts of the same size and one was a little smaller than I'd hoped while the other two were huge. I didn't get back what I paid since I bought them online and an exchange could have been better in this case. Shipping is also outrageous as it's based in the US and heavier or several items make the price go up fast. Payment can be a hassle as well. On my first order the payment went through and was refunded several times before it was finally processed. Last note about the online store, remember that the pricing is in USD and so will cost more in Canadian dollars than you might think. I will say that both the physical and online store often have half decent sales and promotions. Check it out for yourself and hopefully this will help you have a smoother experience.

Not accessible for disabled! Even though it's in a mall the store is cramped to the point of claustrophobia. Far too many things in too tiny a unit. Despite many amazing items for sale this is a store I dread. Can't move around in it without knocking everything. Also, I find it very difficult to get help from salespeople. They are always busy and waiting for them to be free never seems to work as someone calls or butts in ahead. There is no where for lines to form so it's a free-for-all. Very unhappy that when I asked for something to be reserved a salesclerk said he had it his hands and placed it aside. Only to find out the next day that he had not checked stock, had not had it in his hand and did not put it away. I understand if something is not in...but don't lie about it. In the future if I must get something from here, I will order online.

There are nice items but the entire store is extremely crowded and unorganized. Staff were super rude and appeared pretty incompetent. I tried asking for a different size in a shirt I really liked (seeing as there was no organization I figured maybe there'd be more of it hiding somewhere I hadn't spotted), and was turned off completely. There were three employees standing at the til just talking to each other, I asked them and was stared at blankly before one of them pointed to the other side of the store and went "ask them". So I asked "them," which was just one guy that looked lost, and he said oh hang on I have to go ask. He goes and asks the same people I just talked to and they just say no without checking or even making sure of what product he was asking about (he referred to the shirt by the wrong graphic name). At this point I gave up, put the merchandise I had in my hand back on the shelf and left, because if you don't want to give me decent customer service I sure as hell ain't giving you my money.

I'm a Funko pop collector and I feel that hot topics business practice is not very accommodating to customers because whenever there's a funko pop release, customers have to line up hours ahead to buy them, and because the pops are so limited, a lot of customers who lined up for hours ends up going home with nothing because they're all sold out. The whole buy one get one for 30 percent off pretty much encourages every customer to buy 2 of the same pop which makes it even more limited for everyone. Please Introduce the pre-order system and stop making customers line up in front of your stores hours before opening. It's a bad business practice, and it's also a really bad marketing strategy if you guys are trying to get more customers to enter your store because most people already know what they want.

Found some really cute frog enamel pins here. You might want to check the type of backing the pin uses (I find the clip ones hold better than the rubber ones). They have lots of very trendy, pop-culture clothes/accessories/toys from animes, cartoons, tv shows, and inspired by whatever is currently popular. Would be a good place to find accessories for cosplay or streetwear. Just keep in mind the quality of items can be iffy for some products.

Worst hot topic location in the GTA, all funko items get taken by re sellers and employees first. They have a limit of 2 on pops even if only 2 drop. They put out 3 erin yaegers.. meaning 3 were taken by employees (boxs of 6 always) the day before. How is that fair? DO NOT RECCOMEND!!! Dont even bother trying to get popular drops!!!

Spacious. Nice staff. Loads of options. I do find size large goes fast. And I wish signage was clearer about what style shirt all the shirts (ex: anime) were. The sizing is a little inconsistent too. But I assume their anime and band tees are all like men style and men sizing? I also wish crop tops would stop :( all the cool shirts are crops, but those were the colors and designs my husband liked the most. I hate how it isn't gender neutral at least in that regard.

I used to love this place until I had such a negative experience here. The staff give you wrong information. They lie to you when you're corresponding with them about having things in stock and make you come in to the store when they clearly don't have the stuff they said they did and when you want to just return something after you were told you could do an exchange ages ago and they never gave you the exchange then they refuse to refund you the full amount. They say it was too long ago but I've been trying to deal with this for way too long. I tried to deal with it in a timely manner (well within the 3-month return and exchange window and then I was assured that since they didn't get the stock in that it could be dealt with outside three or six months window) and then got sick and tired of spending gas money and time phoning and driving into the store multiple times to deal with this situation so I put it on the back burner because I have better things to deal with than t-shirts... and when I try and deal with it again when I have some free time in my life, they say it's too late even though they did nothing to actually help me before they just give lip service and are completely stubborn. Too bad they have lost a customer for life!

This one of, if not, "the" favourite store for my teenage daughter. Lots of TV/movie, them items, from backpacks, clothing, buttons, jewelery and collectables. They do have items for men, especially t-shirts and collectables, but IMHO, and from seeing the clientele, it is mostly geared towards girls. They also have a larger selection online, my daughter has bought a few things online that you just can not get in Canadian stores, or are not carried in store at all. If you sign up online, they will email you exclusive offers and coupons. Not really a store I personally would go to, but I enjoy browsing when with my daughter.

Love this place. If you're looking for trendy clothing, toys or little gifts - visit. Whatever is popular in terms of anime, TV shows, and cartoons - they usually have something. They don't carry video game content usually. Staff is friendly and can help find something quickly in the super packed store. They also have a number of items for people with piercing. Not the best quality from my experience, but they can last a while before being replaced.

I like coming here to see some things and the staff are friendly but I'm not sure if they work off commission or something cause they are REALLY in your face while you're shopping. I do find that I have to be a little forceful with my no thanks when they ask if I want help or they won't let me be. But I also understand stores like this often deal with a lot of theft due to the younger demographic that comes here so I don't blame them especially if they are on commission. Just for me personally I don't like being bothered so much when I'm shopping as I like my personal time and the store is already very loud and cramped so having someone hover over your shoulder can be a bit intimidating.

When we first came into the store three different people approached us to promote sales, which is all fine and good if they weren't so aggressive. One guy approached me twice, and the second time was while I was considering which size of overalls to buy. He said there was a change room to try them on which was helpful, but then after trying them on I opened the door to get my boyfriend's opinion and he was still standing there, being overly aggressive and physically blocking off the exit to the room and my boyfriend. It made me so so uncomfortable, because I couldn't talk to my boyfriend at all without him staring at me, and then after deciding to purchase them he once again was overly aggressive with pushing sales. Honestly the whole change room thing felt so invasive and unnecessary. Some of the people working here need to seriously chill out. The girl at the front counter however was very friendly and nice.

I had a return to do, and I admit that it was past 30days. I came in to the store with my items and the receipt (all in prefect condition, with the tags on them since I didn't use them.) The Lady (who looked liked the manager as she was delegating tasks) asked why I was returning, and I stated that I didn't want to support JK Rowling at this time. (the 3 items I had were HP and I think understandable why I would want to return them). She took my receipt, and then saw the date and then refused to retun my items. She didn't even scan the receipt. She kept saying it was past 30 days so they couldn't do anything. I told her that I was good with a store credit so it didn't have to go back on my debit, and still refused to do anything. And look I get it, it was past 30days. BUT I work for a pretty well known Canadian realtor, and let me just we would have never turned a customer away like this. The fact that she wasn't even willing to work with me! And she didn't even bother to scan the receipt. Very disappointing. Won't be here again, and I'll be sure to tell friends and family.

Can be hit or miss. Need to take your time to find a diamond in the rough. Too much staff on floor. Be prepared to be asked if you can find what you're looking for multiple times by several staff. Can tend to follow you if you're taking time. I understand it's probably policy and trying to prevent theft, but it can feel uncomfortable sometimes.

Cashier is very nice, if you need to try something on they’re very helpful and receptive and they’ll truthfully tell you wether buying a certain piece is a good idea, this store has been around maybe a year or 2 and has done very well as they’re very unique for bcc compared to the other shops in that mall. They always have sales and prices are okay. Always tidy and associates greet everyone!

Went to this location for my first and last time. Gentlemen was super rude to us. I understand you need to wear a mask. But we had forgotten ours. The last hottopic we went too had extras for customers and were totally awesome (limeridge mall, hamilton) So i asked him if he had some. He was super rude about it. And just overall awful. Felt like we were bugging him that we were in the store. Will not be returning

I find the places full of rude people. Simple questions can not be answered on the phone. Doesn't matter there reasoning not answering questions that's just poor question service. And because they can not answer your questions you make your way into the store to see if they do have what you are looking for. I asked a guy there and the way he answer was just in a rude matter. I will never go back.

Literally any hot topic i go to has horrible disorganized marketing. They will never honour incorrect signage and no employees are confident in knowing the promotions aside from the manager. Anytime (like today) i ask an associate if something is on sale and they confirm it is, once i get to cash I discover they are wrong. This turns into a coaching session where the manager TRIES to explain the promotions TO THE ASSOCIATE Meanwhile i stand there with no explanation given to me so i have to once again ask the price. This is horrible customer service as they should be telling ME what I’m paying WHILE explaining to the associate instead of ignoring me. This is my last time shopping at any location. Whoever is in charge of the promotions and marketing needs to follow up in store and make sure it is organized and clear. they need regular audits on this. I am not even talking about one item being misplaced im talking several units being signed as the sale and still not being honoured. When this happens where i work we have to honour it if it is signed as such. They should do the same.

this location is definitely my favourite within the area of the surrounding cities. have been shopping here for six years, the employees are always super friendly and willing to assist. I seem to always find the best selection at this one. I had a very pleasant experience last night while I was shopping with my mother, Amy was so friendly, personable and helpful. She went out of her way to ensure we had the best shopping experience. I highly recommend this location.
