I recently took a family ring to a large jewelry chain in Saskatoon to inquire about the cost of getting a lost amethyst replaced and any loose claws fixed. I was quoted the horrendous sum of nearly $900.00 on a ring that was valued at $400.00. Not having any intention of paying this ridiculous amount I decided to get a second estimate and took my ring to R. Powell Goldsmith. To my surprise and delight I was given an estimate of between $150.00 and $230.00 depending on how many claws had to be fixed or replaced. I considered this a real deal compared to my original quote. To my utter surprise and complete delight I received a phone call when the work on the ring was complete and a bill of $99.90 which included the tax!! The workmanship was A-1 and the 15 year old ring looks virtually brand new. I cannot tell enough people about this positive experience. I am so impressed with the value, integrity and honesty of this local business and highly recommend their services and workmanship!!
