Service not efficient you can stand around in the same spot looking as if you need help and no one comes to ask if you do need help they just blindly walk past you. You have to go find someone and tell them you need help. Beta fish area is gross water is disgusting along with a few dead beta fish still on the shelf that have been there for a few days. Live fish tank area is gross tanks still look dirty even though they look to be recently cleaned along with multiple dead fish in the tanks. Would think a company like PetSmart would have tasks for employees and things to check on in order to bring people to buying their pets.

I don’t have a problem with the store at all I have a problem with the grooming girl name Natalie she’s rude and cruel to the animals, I have no idea why she is there to groom animals, I took my beautiful white Himalayan cat to shave him like a lion for the summer, the package I bought for 76 $ includes shaving plus bath and should take an hour and a half, she took my cat and shaved him like a rat for less than 15 minutes and put him in his cage and gave him to me with mean attitude, I came home to find out how my cat looks like, I was shocked I started crying and I bathed him, I called to complain to her manager she answered the phone and said I am the manager, again with attitude she said you can come take your money back I did and ask for the real manager and complained he said sorry about your experience but I’m pretty sure that nothing was done about it . I don’t recommend for any cat or dog to be groomed , shaved or touched by Natalie ever, as for me I will never ever step a foot in this store ever again,I will also tell all my friends about her anytime I have a chance .. I don’t even know if his hair will ever regrow the same or he would look the same ever again, but I hope the store will do something about Natalie being a groomer there.

Across Canada I rate them in the top five for customer service. Staff was very helpful. A cozy size store for the island. Not the largest but definitely not the smallest. Good prices with a clean grooming station. However if an item does not have a tag on it they cannot sell it, which was a bit of a bummer since I've been looking for a life vest at a red tag price for a while.

Terrible experience at the self-grooming station. Nobody around and we'd been told when we paid at the front counter that if we couldn't find anyone back there that it was pretty self-explanatory. Since we have a large reactive dog we went in to the wash bay area to get started as we had also been told that there would only ever be one party in at a time and it was empty. Eventually someone showed up but didn't speak to us-rather they talked to another party that had shown up. They then thought they would let the other party in to the second bay even though they said they weren't "technically" supposed to do that. We indicated we have a reactive dog and so it wouldn't be a good idea. We were not offered towels-luckily we had brought our own. We rushed the job because someone else was waiting and as we left after trying to sweep away any of the oversprayed water to the floor drain (that was clogged with hair from a previous dog) the attendant just glared at us. If we somehow breached some hidden protocol they could have let us know but we just followed the instructions on the wash-station. What a horrible experience it was through and through as we were made to feel so unwelcome. We won't be back to spend any money at Courtenay Petsmart.

I found everything I needed during my visit. I have three cats, a dog, 3 chinchillas and a hamster and everything I needed was available. I do wish they have larger size bags of Chinchilla food as I go through quite a lot. They also run out of the shredded paper bedding frequently. I was not offered assistance by any employees I passed while picking up my pet products. My checkout was quick and painless, so overall I was pleased with my visit.

We had our 2 small dogs booked in for grooming a short while ago. It was the worst job I've ever seen. The girl shaved off one dogs eyebrow right down to the skin. The other had random long pieces all over the place. She boasted about how fast she did the job and honestly I wish she just took the full time that we paid for and did a good job. If I owned this business and this was the quality of work that employee was boasting about I would fire that employee immediately. We'll be taking our pets back to the other groomer in Cumberland. It's a longer drive, which we were hoping to avoid, but this is ridiculous. I think we paid $135 total and it was a total waste of money. What a mess.

A standard petsmart, has all of your basic needs for your pets or animals. Biggest benefit is their staff, I've never had a bad experience with them and they're always very willing to help. Sometimes the stock can be a little low, that's mostly because the island is small and sometimes shipments take a while. Overall a good place to do some shopping for your animals.

Their fish are a sad sight. Their tanks are badly kept, full of dead fish everytime. Their staff know nothing about the live fish that their selling. The bettas are always sickly looking due to being in cups and being badly taken care of. If you're looking for healthy well taken care of fish The Atlantis is way better.

My wife and I are in here every week buying either fish or things for our animals and normally we have awesome experiences. However, we were in today to pick up some fish, we knew exactly what we wanted, and we were completely ignored. They helped several people that came up after us who were undecided on fish while we were trying to get service. When there was no one else to help aside from us they just refused to look at us and kept doing paperwork dealing with crickets and talking about the female employee going home and about taking a break. My wife and I were STUNNED. We are in there all the time but we didn't recognize the two staff members who ignored us. We even had to ask them to get people to help us get fish and they had the audacity to go "Oh we didn't know you wanted fish." Yeah I guess if you look at us once and then refuse to acknowledge us you would think we didn't want fish. The kicker was that we were loudly discussing which fishes we wanted and asked even louder are these employees seriously ignoring us. When the male employee finally decided to help us he ignored how we asked to him to bag the fish because they were going into three different tanks since he apparently knew better and he was extremely rude and blunt and acted like it was a chore to help us. We were nothing but polite to him once he acknowledged our existence. It's your freaking job to help people and make your company money. If you don't want to help people then find a different job. If we didn't need the pleco for our Frontosa tank we would have left. This left a bad enough taste in our mouth that we will go elsewhere for our needs.

This is my first ever Google Review. I felt the need to review PetSmart Charlottetown because of the excellent service I received when I was there over the weekend. I was having an issue with my puppy and was looking for a specific product and the employees (not just one employee, 4 or 5 employees!) gathered together to help with the issue that I was having. I was so impressed by their helpfulness and level of caring. I will definitely go out of my way to visit this PetSmart location whenever I am in Charlottetown again, and I would highly recommend this store to anyone in the area!

I have had a lot of good and friendly experiences in the store. I usually find what I'm looking for or at least something that will work for me. There is sometimes a few dead fish visible in the tanks but its not as bad as some stores I've seen before. Noticed they do carry a few live water plants but they don't have real wood available for in aquariums.

My husband bought a beautiful baby albino guinea pig from here and he wouldn't eat properly, I found out that he has severely bad rear teeth problems. They told me they had all of their animals vet checked (clearly untrue), all they told me was that because his 2 week warranty was up they couldn't do anything to help, and they said the best they can do is take him back to basically put him down. I will no longer be buying any animals from this or any petsmart, they are rude and disrespectful to animals of any kind!!!!

Went in to get hip & joint medication for old owners old dog - GNC brand at 750 mg of gluecoseamine. Had to ask for help (staff & assume manager) - in another aisle talking. Manager informed me no longer available, don't know why "they" keep taking stuff away and sending different - and this one is its replacement! It only had 500 mg gluecoseamine - yet one beside it has 600 mg of gluecoseamine. He was not friendly, not informed, not helpful - my first time experiencing that in this store. I am no longer a customer. Don't take advantage of seniors just because you don't know your own product!

3/10 for recent grooming of standard schnauzer. feathers were uneven, asked not to cut beard, just trim. they cut beard, all in all job was rough with grooming clipper tracks still showing a day later. When store opened we were told 65.00 for groom. Bill was 85.00. We will not be back.

The girl (I believe her name is Grace) In the fish area was absolutely amazing. She really knew what she was talking about, she was extremely helpful, and although the day I went she was so busy with about 5 "groups" of customers not including myself and my boyfriend, she managed to get to all of us in a timely and professional manner. Then, as I went to the cash I asked the cashier if I could leave a compliment about her and he told me to do so on Google, then continued to be so personable and friendly as we went through his cash. Great customer service!

Had my large, but cowardly, cat in for grooming. The groomers were excellent with him, and I was very happy with the outcome when they finished. They counselled me which procedures to choose keeping in mind his personality, and likelihood to panic, and to my surprise what they recommended and we ended up agreeing on was a fair bit less expensive than what I originally had in mind. I know a lot of places will up-sell, pushing you to spend more. This is one of the few places that I've been that willingly recommends a less expensive option. While my fur-baby obviously didn't enjoy his beauty treatment, he also didn't come home and hide from me like he does after he's been to the vet, or another traumatic (to him) experience. I'll definitely take him back when it is needed!

These guys are managed by liars. Yesterday I was in and bought 137 dollars worth of stuff, and they double charged my card. So I called last night and was told I would receive a call back. Today, I called at 230 because I hadn't received a call. I asked on the phone if I could get a cash refund because it left me short for a car payment. The manager told me it would be fine and he wanted to help me. So I made the drive in from montague on my gas light as I couldn't find my debit card. All the while thinking I was getting a "cash" refund. When I arrived, the manager I spoke with on the phone told his staff member that he told me it had to be the same debit card, which he did not . And I specifically asked on the phone for "cash." So I could make my car payment. Only a coward won't own up to their mistakes. I truly hope you're owners and bosses know what kind of man is running his store. I've spent thousands at this store, with 3 cats, 5 kittens and a dog, it's inevitable. But I will go elsewhere from now on

I was looking for a harness for my new kitten and I actually took my kitten with me to the store so I could hopefully find one that would fit him. It took awhile to find someone to help me and she pressured me into buying a harness that was to big for him. When I asked if he could try it on she was hesitant and a bit rude but let me put it on him. I said it was to big but she said it was fine and told me it fits well so even though I didn't really want it I got it because I needed one right away. While me and my kitten were in the car he walked right out of the harness and into the backseat. This is not a safe thing if he can just walk out of it. I was not impressed at all. He didn't even wiggle, he just walked out of it. They didn't give me a reciept so it's a good thing my number is in their system. The one good thing was they totally understand why I was returning it and did not give me a hard time and they did give my kitty a treat but it just takes one bad employee with an attitude to ruin a store for someone. I do wish their staff knew more about the products they sell and could help people find things for their pets who have allergies or anything that could be wrong with them. I don't think they get any training for food allergies and that is a big issue for pets so pet store staff should know this kind of stuff. It's really important to know especially when someone is coming in and maybe new to the fact that their pet has an allergy and they need help finding the right foods for their pet.

Great staff and it's a good place to go for hard products, but avoid their fish area altogether as not a single fish has lived that I've gotten there. One pleco killed my entire tank with sicknesses a couple months ago (partly my fault for not quarantining first) yet all fish from other stores survive no problem and are sickness free.

Outstanding service, we were looking everywhere for a Russian hamster, none to found in st John's and area, this location was sold out as well, but instead of saying sorry sold out, the young man helping us said he had some robo hamster in the back and that if we gave him a couple minutes to add them into the system we could get one, turns out they're adorable and my little girl fell instantly in love when we got home with the robo, all because of the young man that served us

Very disappointed today with Natalie and Meghan of the grooming dept. and their poor choice of customer service and lack of compassion towards me and my two dogs. Annie my westie sat there in a crate for 40 min., not being bathed while I drove home to get Boo my miniature schnauzer's rabbie update paperwork. Then after I drove back again they refused to bath Boo. So both of them did not get taken care of. They said they did not have time. The appoint was for 10:30 for 2 dogs, and I was back at 11:10 with Boo. Why was Annie not done anyway? Why did they leave her in a crate till I got back and then tell me they were not going to do Boo, she could have been done, they said they did not have time. In the past it has been 2 hrs for 2 dogs and today, not enough time?

Took my beautiful cat for a grooming, his groomer was extremely rude and rushed his groom. My cat ended up with uneven fur, and the style was not what we asked for. We ordered the premium groom and the duration was supposed to be an hour and a half but it took her probably 15 minutes or less. We complained and asked to speak with the manager then the groomer proceeded to lie and proclaimed she was the manager, after hours of fighting with them we finally got our full money back. I suggest choosing a different salon for your fur babies unless you want them looking like rats.
