As soon as we walked in the door we were hit with a delicious aroma of chili, cooking in the back for lunch. We ordered fish cakes, baked beans, sausage, french toast and toutans and everything was AMAZING! Just like mom makes- scrumptious!! The ladies working were also very nice, good service. We are going back later for supper! Highly recommend. They are also one of the very few places that are still open in the off season.

This has to be the best breakfast place in Bonavista. They open fairly early which is quite unusual around these parts.

Cozy little café with friendly service and very delicious home cooked-style eggs and bacon (or sausage) breakfasts. Tastes just like you'd cook for yourself, or better! Many other breakfast and lunch items as well. The other side of the building is a classic bar complete with a chatty bartender, a pool table, VLTs, and occasional live music. Get some Iceberg beer here for a great price!

(Translated) Great place to eat. Everything is made at home. It is a small cafeteria with a local flavor that is felt upon entering. The mac & cheese is great. (Original) Estupendo lugar para comer. 3 staff members working, we are the only 2 customers. Ordered pea soup, fish cake and water. Watched staff get themselves water twice , we never got it ours. We waited 20 to 25 minutes never heard from the staff. We left, staff saw us pack up and put no effort into ensuring our order was even coming.

Discovering Destinations

We visited Bonavista in a day trip and after seeing some Puffins and drove around in the city until we found Waltham's Cafe where we decided to have a quick meal and we really liked it. It’s a small Café next to a Pub, with good options for desserts and a quick lunch or even take out. It's kind of a home made dishes really local and delicious! We had some Cod au Gratin and Fish Cakes and both were delicious, and of course, we also couldn’t resist to their local desserts! The price is good and the service was really friendly. The ambience is simple and cozy at the same time. We totally recommend a stop, even for a dessert & coffee only!

Whilst touring the peninsular in the off season with my parents, we dropped by for some lunch. DELICIOUS homemade food, wonderfully friendly staff and customers, would highly recommend. We left to go on our way but then turned back to grab some sandwiches for dinner later on. It was the best club sandwich I have ever eaten.

We had lunch at this delightful place on our way through town. We had been told by friends to go to the Bonavista Social Club. We went but they aren't open until Wednesday. We were driving by , saw the sign and decided to stop. We both had an egg salad sandwich and soup. The soup was homemade and perfect for a rainy, windy day. We had a great conversation with our server. The place filled up with lots of locals so we knew we had chosen well.
