UPDATE: my call to the Customer Contact Centre didn’t resolve the problem but I called the Bancroft Store GM who honoured the sale price and apologized for the inconvenience. I’m a happy guy. And I didn’t have to build the Log Splitter which is a huge win. Original Post: I had been waiting for a log splitter to go on sale. I’d been saving up, and getting gift cards from family for birthdays and Father’s Day, but also decided to get a CT credit card to make the purchase happen. So I went into the store last week and I approached the customer service clerk and explained I wanted a log splitter that was on sale and needed a credit application and she said she wasn’t sure if they were doing apps in store because of COVID. I didn’t like the “not sure” response but she said I could do it online myself which I thought was fine and was approved for $3000. So then I called the store to make sure the inventory that was showing online was accurate and explained I now had approved credit and casually asked how they’d get my credit card number while I waited for the card so I wouldn’t miss out with on the sale. The lady told I had to wait for the card and then asked me why I didn’t fill it out in store because then they could access my credit card number. I was quite annoyed now since the other staff member staff sent me away and I think it’s just because she really didn’t want to do the credit app or find out. Had I known they couldn’t pull up my account afterwards, I would have asked the lady to make sure apps couldn’t be done in store. So then I asked if they could put the a splitter aside for me and I was willing to put a down payment on it and the lady said that everything was first come, first serve. I was trying to spend $1399 and they didn’t even try to solve the problem that they created. Seriously, they didn’t want my $1399. I am expecting the card any day now but now the splitter I wanted is back up to $1799. I’m a loyal Canadian tire customer but this is experience has left me questioning whether I should start shopping somewhere else. I’ve got other complaints about catalogue items not even being in inventory but I think my post is long enough. I get that COVID has made things more challenging but I lost out on a sales item, and CT Bancroft lost out on $1399 simply because the staff member didn’t want to find out if I could do a credit app in store. That lady didn’t even try. I also drove 45 minutes to the store and 45 minutes back. A complete waste of time and this has happened twice recently.

I called the store and asked how much to install and balance a tire . Was told 24.95 per tire . My mom went in and got charged 190$ labor for 2 tires . Everyone already knows they're rip offs . Mom knew she was being ripped off but felt pressured. My mom was literally crying in the store because she knew she was being taken advantage of. Too make matters worse after she paid 490$ bill for two 88$ tires to be installed they told her that her coolant was milky. She just had the water pump and coolant changed 24 hours before going there. Complete rip offs . Sexist company . Boycott these guys .

This review is focused mainly on the Autoparts department. The staff were extremely slow on a day that seemed to be average at best. In the 45 minutes I stood there waiting to be helped 6 or 7 people were processed. There whole system on how to process customers needs to be revamped.

I recently ordered a plow for my truck online to be delivered to Bancroft store. 2 weeks later I received an email that the plow was no longer available. The plow still showed available online so I called the online service. They looked into this and found the plow I ordered and paid for was shipped to Bancroft and was given to some one else even though my order number was on it. Now over a week later still waiting for the replacement to show up. Plow finally showed up after missing 2 more promised dates. The Manager was very apologetic and gave me a discount for the trouble, and had his team load the item in my truck. Happy to have the plow now not happy about the circus it took to get it.

They have the best selection of plants in the spring/summer and the employees here actually look after their plants until other large stores who leave them to dry up and die. *Update* I've had a loss prevention officer (Aboriginal/about 5'7/long hair in a pony tail and in his late 20's) follow me around the store when I didn't even steal anything and had employees glare at me, then while I was paying for my purchases he embarrassed me in front of about 20+ people by shouting "LOSS PREVENTION GO BACK INSIDE THE STORE" while being surrounded by other employees. I didn't take anything so I told him to look inside my bag and to his surprise he didn't find anything. He told me I could go and no one apologized to me for the false accusation. Don't they have to be 100% sure before attempting to apprehend someone? I would have given 1 star but the season employees are great.

Came in for a few small cleaning items when the lockdown ended. Lines were moving well, and the door greeter was very friendly. I don't her name, but one of the employees that works on the floor is FANTASTIC. Always extremely friendly, positive, and more than willing to help. I've described things to her in the weirdest way and she knew exactly what I needed and helped me find it, along with providing ideas for the job itself. If I find out her name I'll update the review, as she deserves a raise. I believe she works in / around the hardware section.

Someone helped me pick out a window wiper, but grabbed me a driver's side instead od passenger side. Exchanged it quickly, after I noticed (when I tried to put it on). Simple mistake, and I had a nice time helping an older man learn how to use the touchscreen to find wipers for his own car. Just got threatened to get escorted out of Canadian Tire by a young girl for not following the arrows. Unpleasant shopping experience. Minding my own business like everyone else in the store walking around not following the arrows, I was looking for baby boots and I got directed to the back. That's where she was, back back wall. She wasn't wearing the Canadian Tire gear either so I told her to mind her own business and she said she was going to call the supervisor, I was like wow! Thought she was a shopper that should stay home if they're so afraid. I still didn't know she worked there, I'm looking at boots still and then she tells me to cooperate or I'll get escorted out and not in a nice way. I asked her if she worked there, she said yes. I told her then she shouldn't be arguing with customers, she said just follow the arrows and you'll be fine and walked away. Unbelievable. I understand that she was only doing her job but no one else was being told to follow the arrows. People are walking all over the place, how are customer service reps going to control that? There needs to be a better system in place, maybe use the intercom to remind people to follow the arrows. It would make for a better shopping experience. Other staff members were helpful and friendly.

I did not enjoy my experience as a customer here today. I tried buying a plug in for my extension cord, but the item rang up $5 more than labeled in the aisle. The label for $5.69 was on the bin with 20 other synonymous plug ins. The advertising and labeling was misleading. The staff would not support or believe me in spite the facts. Thanks for trying, but I will shop elsewhere from now on.

Before writing this I read the reviews and found some of the complaints about customer service disheartening. However, my experience with an employee, Jessica in Hardware was amazing. She was pleasant and was determined to make my experience a great one. The icing on the cake was when she noticed a cut on my hand and offered me a bandage. I thank you. I'm 70 years old and Jessica was a breath of fresh air in an era where customer service is getting more like the experiences of some of the lesser ratings this store is experiencing. I hope management recognizes people like Jessica and her great work ethic. Larry

I'm normally a very patient and understanding individual when it comes to retail purchases, returns etc, but the service at this location is just atrocious. If you are just looking to walk in, buy a product and then leave i suppose its fine. But if you aren't use to the layout, have a question or just want to be treated like more than a dollar sign, then head elsewhere. After my latest experience, that's what I plan on doing. I worked in retail for a number of years and I can understand what its like to be on the receiving end of customer's frustration (even when something isn't your fault). But every time I visit this location they are obscenely rude, don't converse with you unless its to tell you how much change/total is owed, and they are so unhelpful its almost unfathomable. I attribute all this to poor management, because I have never experienced such poor customer service in any other Canadian Tire location. Its frustrating because I have been a patron of this company for the last 15 years and I always speak so highly of its products and services. Unfortunately, I feel as though I should warn my friends, family and any other individuals visiting this location.

Dear CDN Tire. I have tried several times to buy power tools and other hardware items from your store. I can't get your teenage staff to help me. I found the tools yet couldn't get a soul to open the cage so I could buy it. I have since spent about 1500 in power tools at Rona and sears because they helped me get them. I used to hold out on buying items in the city and try to support the stores in Bancroft but after the holidays, I will no longer do that for Canadian Tire. They refused to honour the 5$ off energy coupon issued by the Government! Then they didn't believe that the light bulbs were included on the rebate so they called the Ottawa store where I had purchased the same bulbs with the coupon. After they had me wait at customer service for 15 minutes so they could call the store in Ottawa, the associate on the phone told them that they honoured the coupon. They still refused to honour the coupon!! I asked for the store manager and she had already spoken to the associate and refused to even listen to me! I wasn't looking to trick anyone or take advantage of anyone and it was confirmed by the Ottawa store. Terrible experience and terrible business move on their part. I wont drive out of my way to go there anymore and ill do my shopping at Home Hardware or back in the city. Truly disappointed.

Our car broke down about 20 minutes outside Bancroft on Saturday and we were towed to Canadian Tire after the auto service had closed. The service manager, Fred Potts told us we could leave our information and they would work on our car first thing on Monday. True to his word, when Monday morning came around Fred ensured that or car was looked at as soon as they opened and kept us updated. But, what was really phenomenal was how Fred responded when we learned our car was beyond fixing. He helped us try to sell our car – since we didn’t know the area – called car rental places for us, called a taxi for us to take us to where we were renting our car from, and arranged for a local scrap yard to buy our car and take it off our hands. He also offered to drive us - during his break – to the car rental place, if the taxi was too expensive. My husband and I are fairly young and had never been in a situation like this before; having the support of Fred Potts and the Canadian Tire staff was a huge comfort to both of us.

Closest Canadian Tire outside of Huntsville if you are on the South East Side (East Gate) of Algonquin Park. It is not a "mega" store, but it has everything you need. If you live in the area you can order items to the store for easy pickup. Staff are polite, usually helpful and expected knowledge base for a Canadian Tire Store.

But made a note on the service order that one of the wiper blades had a crack in the rubber. I discovered the stripped stud& returned to tell them, they blamed me for doing it.

Though I sincerely acknowledge these are unprecedented times and staff are exhausted and stressed, so too are customers who are doing their very best in this new world. Going into a store is now foreign and intimidating to say the least, completely outside our norm. Though the store layout and practices may be old hat to staff, this is not true for those of us who’ve been home for 2 months or more (for your safety and of course our own). 100% of the customers I encountered maintained complete distancing, where helpful in guiding each other through the store (especially areas that seemed to put us in a perpetual loop ... had some good chuckles) and kind. I wish I could say that for ALL the STAFF where so rude and made the experience all the more uncomfortable and exceedingly even more intimidating. Did I make mistakes in my nervousness? Most likely, but I was navigating while being fast to allow others constant flow in the store. Came home with 50% of what I needed. We’re in this together people ... each with our own stories and stresses ... rudeness and intimidation is not the answer, ever. I’m going to put this away and tell myself it was a coincidence that each staff member was simply having a bad day. The cashier was the icing on the cake, gave no verbal direction of how/where to proceed and succeeded making me feel supremely unwelcome. Come on people, we’re better than this.

There was a puncture in my tire , I went to candian tire, prince albert to fix that, the guy over there not only said that tire number which goes to my car's model isnt available anymore and I have to buy other type of tire which costs more, moreover he also tired to sale me winter tire eventhough i dint ask for it. Luckily my friend was ex employee there and through him i contacted the other sales guy , not only he was able to find that exact tire number which I needed it for my car (which was also cheaper than previous) but he also said I dont need winter tire. I would recommend to go other places and keep CT your last choice.

My Father recently had a bad experiance at this Canadian Tire; an event which triples in severity given the context that he has always been a loyal patron and supporter of canadian tire. When he brought in his truck for a new battery and oil change he also asked for them to check into a problem he was having with the air conditioning. They misdianosed the air conditioning problem and replaced the mode door actuator witch cost over $600 in parts and labour, this did not fix the problem. They asked him if he would like to continue trying. The next attempt would be to remove the dash. This would be 8hrs labour @ $112/hr . They refused to offer a refund on the original misdiagnosis and offered no garantee that this would be a solution either. The 8hrs labour to take out the dash control unit seemed exsesive so he googled the process and found examples of people doing the same procedure in a fraction of that time (5 min). In the end this visit to Canadian Tire cost him $1048.35 all that was achived was an oil change and new battery. He has always been a staunch defender of canadian tire and feels he has egg on his face. The original inspection and diagnosisis alone was $289 as this diagnosis was incorrect he feels being charged fully for it as well as the part and labour is unfair, he would have appreciated some consessions as all of this was on the fualt of Canadian Tire and ultimatly futile.

This is a decent Canadian Tire with an excellent selection of outdoor and garden equipment and a wide selection of fishing and game equipment. Its a true Canadian Tire, not your run of the mill downtown store. Its a bit hard to navigate since its so packed with stuff. But you'll definitely find more than you would downtown here. The selection is much better and the prices are about the same.

I would give it a zero if I could. I took my vehicle in for Canadian tire to replace the brakes-- and then my bushing went "missing" during the time it was at the shop. I brought my vehicle back because I needed to change the front tire-- I took it back to get torked and then I left-- it still had the awful sound by the wheel and my vehicle would shake. Turns out whoever put the tire on my vehicle did not do it correctly and the worker told me it could have fell off... REALLY!? So I had to pay another $130 out of pocket for Canadian tire to fix their own mistake. No apology was given to me, or even a discount when I was upset and I told them I spent over $3,000 within the few weeks I tried getting there help-- NEVER AGAIN.

This was my first time into the Canadian Tire in Bancroft and definitely won't be my last. I got everything I needed and more. Bluetooth speaker to windshield wash fluid, oil and filter to cat food and litter. And who can forget sugar! And there wasn't a single shelf that wasn't fully stocked. Lots of friendly staff available and lots of computers to search if need be. I even got the wiring harness for my CD player in my van and antenna wiring. Plus a double charging cord. Amazed and I'll be back. :)

I recently broke down in a remote area north of Bancroft and was towed to the CT service centre after close on a Sunday night. I was stranded and had to stay the night. I spoke with Robert, a service rep, first thing in the morning and after explaining my situation he assured me that they'd try to get me back on the road ASAP. I'm sorry for talking badly about the customer service at the auto centre of Canadian Tire Bancroft . It was Saturday August 5th 2017 around 9:30 . My husband wanted our car brakes to be fixed. We were in an art Show.. The guy in charge made both, a young guy and my husband to wait around fifteen minutes talking with another guy about the cars in a magazine. Then called the young guy in front of him. The "friend" came back again, talked for ten more minutes while my husband was waiting to ask a question. When finally his turn came He asked if the brakes could be fixed. He answered in bad mood that they won't do that because they would closed at 12:00 noon. Imagine My husband almost lost his temper. The guy saw him in the line from the beginning and made him waiting for around 25 five minutes talking nonsense with his friend. We are from Scarborough.

I went to this location for a simple battery change. When I first went in, they gave me a quote of approx. $230 all inclusive. When I took my vehicle in the next day, I was told that $120 diagnostic charge will be added to the initial $230 amount, which does not make sense. I am paying for the new battery than why the diagnosis? So, salesperson told me it's because my car wont start and later he said it's because they have to push my car into their garage (which I find a ridiculous excuse). Knowing I have no other option, I left my car there. I got a call from Canadian Tire half an hour later stating that they quoted me on wrong battery and now my price from $230 goes to approx. $365. Oh and they are still charging for $120 diagnosis fees. End of the day, I ended up paying $507 for a battery change. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND SOMEONE USING CANADIAN TIRE AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES.

I am not usually one to write a review but I am completely fed up with Malcolm Jenkins (the Prince Albert store owner) setting, AND CHANGING, his store hours as he feels fit. (App/website says closed at 7:00 on holidays, they closed at 6:00. App/website say winter hours are the same as summer, closed at 9:00, However, he changes to 7:00 or 8:00 on weekdays depending on how busy the store is that day). It is an absolute JOKE. I live 1/2 hour out of town so I check the website and app to make sure I have time to make it in, AND THAT THEY WILL BE OPEN only to find a locked door. I don't know why it took me 25-30 times before I finally put an end to it but I have finally given up and will be taking my business elsewhere. I realize I could still bother the customer service reps and pick up a phone to ask them what time they close, but, I would rather not wait on hold for 5-10 mins just to ask a 5 second question. I will just take my business to somewhere where they follow the franchise rules.

I have nothing against shopping at Canadian Tire. The dislike I have for the place is geared towards the auto center. They sold me a tire that was faulty to begin with. Then they tried blaming my rim by saying it was bent and therefore told me that I need to replace the rim. Then after still losing air in my tire, they magically discovered that the tire was cracked from the beginning! I will never bring my car back there ever again!

Went in to store with coupon that listed a stormtrooper toaster/star wars waffle maker the showed the price at $14,88 no where did it say each for the price. Also nowhere did it say either or. So from what I could see you should get both for that price. Was told by the manager Lyle Banting that the the price was for one or the other. Asked him to show where it said that and only answer could get was that is just what it is. Working in the auto industry as a sales manager I understand the need for very clear advertising as unclear advertising the customer is always right and have lost thousands because of unclear advertising. I will be contacting the better business bureau as this is not the way to do business. Make your advertising clear. When something is left to different interpretations in retail the customer should be taken as right as this is all about customer service. Was very unimpressed with the customer service was.

This is probably one of my most common stores I shop at. The staff is always friendly, and the people at the automotive desk usually know what they are talking about. However it's a pain in the ass to find help finding something, or getting something out of their locked cabinets.

Having the circumstances of driving an old and worn-out car has its challenges. The service, care, concern and adaptability of the Automotive group constantly gave me the most excellent service, customer care, understanding and flexibility in keeping cost down one could imagine. June 24, 2018 we had a flat in Killaloe and were told we could drive for five hours on the donut, I disagreed. When we got to Bancroft the service area was closed but my sister found someone to help us. Kevin was absolutely wonderful, my sister bought a new tire and he put it on for us so that we could continue to Peterborough and Stratford. Thank you Canadian Tire Bancroft and especially Kevin!

Went in today to get some herbicide. The Garden center associate was fantastic. Although she didn't have a strong knowledge on which product was better than others or their specific uses, she took the time to help me read labels to find exactly what I was looking for. I was at the end of an isle with a cart. There was an employee with a cart blocking my way. I waited patiently until she asked if she could help. I told her nicely that id like to go down the next isle. If looks could kill ida been lying on the floor! My only alternative would have been to turn the cart around and wheel it back down that isle and around. She had to move her cart 4 feet! Im 61 years old and spent $415 in this store! In the future ill go to minden which is the same distance.

Went to Canadian Tire in Bancroft on the weekend to buy a generator. When I called about it, they told me that they didn't sell dual fuel generators and they were being discontinued and wouldn't be getting any in. To my surprise I seen that they had one in stock while online. I went to purchase it. They gave me the run around saying that because of covid I would have to go to the shipping department and load it there. Just pay for it first they told me. I did. I went to get it and they loaded it on my truck. I had other purchases but they were just rushing me to pay for the generator before I could get anything. I went back to the store today which is 2 days later. I explained to the manager Norma-Jean that I didn't realize it wasn't an electric start generator, she told me that I should have asked more questions, (which I am not sure I would have gotten an honest answer) and that it was an expensive lesson. She had no customer service etiquette what so ever. She was rude and this isn't the first time. It will be the last time I make an expensive purchase there. I will shop in the city from now on.

Bancroft Canadian Tire has a huge assortment of everything you'll need while living in a cottage Country. They are stocking shelves regularly. I also like holiday teamed shelves. Even though Bancroft is small, happened to me few times that one person from staff was rude, what's funny that was the same person all those times and I am local. Other than that still 5 stars. I've been to few other Canadian Tire stores and this one is the best so far.

The lines and arrows for covid makes things complicated and confusing. Blocking off isles doesn't make any sense. It causes people to run into eachother, the opposite of what it's supposed to do. Super friendly staff that are knowledgeable make up for it but the floorplan needs to change. Take note to how no frills did things. It works.

I usually really enjoyed Canadian Tire but today was a really bad experience. Going to customer service to get something from the garden center because the garden center was open and the girl working at customer service is telling another co-worker that she did something wrong totally right from beginning to finish and I just don't think how anybody should be speaking to a co-worker and especially when you're in customer service you really Oughta Know Better. Needless to say there are absolutely no help to me as I had to go out to the garden center and retrieve the product code even though I had scanned the package which was a lot quicker for me then actually waiting for staff to help me.

I had to buy tires online because they were onsale on Canadian Tires website and in the Flyer, But not in the store. That apparently was the first indication of a problem. I called the store to see if I could buy them at the store but was told I could not, because they were not on sale anymore and they didn't have any anyways, I told them their website said they had 8 in the store, then he said "oh I guess we do have some". When I went to the store to get the tires installed, they " the Service Manager" told me that they couldnt install the tires until I got an email confirmation that the tires were ready for pickup, even though I was not picking them up. At around 11:15 am I left my car there at Canadian tire to have the tires installed and the Service Manager told me that there were a couple of vehicles in front of me and that my car should be in in 2 hours or so. I live outside the city and they dont have shuttle service anymore so I went across the street to McDonalds to wait. Around 2 pm I went back to check on my car and it wasnt in yet, the guy told me there was still one car in front of me, incredible??????? said my car would be next. At 3:30 I called and the Service Manger said my car was in the shop "she thought" and that they would get it done by 5pm for sure. At 4:01pm I went back to the shop just as the Service manager told me my car was done. Then they couldnt find the keys, found the 45 minutes later, but that wasnt the worst part they coudnt figure out how to bill me because the tires were bought online and paid for already?????? It was after 5:15pm when they finally got the bill figured out, and the service dept closes at 5 pm Almost 6 hour wait. When I confronted the Service Manager about being lied to all she could say was that she never told me the stuff that she did and that she told me they were backed up, if she hadnt lied to me and told me the truth I could have come back later or even the next day. But only after saying I wanted an apology, did I get a fake apology that she never lied to me and that it wasnt her fault. Quit lying to your customers, POOR SERVICE. No response from MR Jenkins, except that he is a sheep being lead by the mask wearing fear mongers, wont see me in his store again.

Just left the store looking to purchase a drill. There was no one in the department to help me. After waiting for 15 minutes I decided to leave and when I was attempting to exit the store and tried to exit through a lane which was closed yelled at me in front a line of customers that I wasn't allowed to exit that way. After being publicly humilated I was then forced to try to squeeze through a line of people to exit all the while receiving a dirty look from the cashier. Unfortunately this is not the first time that I received this kind of "service"at Canadian Tire. I would encourage residence of P.A. to shop at Rona or Amazon from now on.

Doing major renovations and the guys in the paint department are awesome! Tim usually helps me, but on Saturday a young fellow named Sidney was there. He was honest and extremely helpful and kind. I brought my vehicle in to get my headlights adjusted. They were not properly aligned when I get my vehicle back. I wrote a email stating my situation to head office and I had my situation looked into. I brought my vehicle back to Canadian tire prince Albert, and explained my issues. My vehicle was worked on for over two hours. I was expecting to pay the difference but it was at no charge! I was treated with nothing but respect the whole time and my headlight situation was fixed. I love Canadian for prices, friendly staff and great deals! I will always have Canadian tire be my go to. The gentleman working the service counter was very friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Driving home from Algonquin I suddenly had problems with my brakes, so I stopped in at this location late on a busy Friday afternoon - within 5 minutes they had a mechanic looking for my problem and he found an almost invisible hairline crack in an air hose coupling. This he quickly replaced, and my brakes were as good as new. - they were helpful, and polite, and what is more - they did not charge me anything as the work had been done so quickly!

Do not be fooled by the mastercraft warranty. Prince Albert Canadian tire does not honor the warranty on it. I called ahead, explained i had purchased a mastercraft product on Feb 19, 2021, it stopped working after the second use and i attempted to get warranty on it. They said no problem bring it in. I drove an hour, brought it in. Refused to honour the warranty. I had the information from the purchase on my Canadian tire MasterCard. Customer service was no help and said I needed to go back to the store I purchased it from and refused to help me with the warranty. I left the pc of junk sitting there on the till because it’s of no use to use. Spend your $$ elsewhere for tools because they don’t honour their own store warranty here. Also, their own website says it’s 90 days for product exchange, and the customer service person told me it’s only 30 days. Yes, I will be contacting corporate. **update: corporate office was as useless as the girl at customer service was. So again, buyer be ware. What they say on their website is not what they honour in store. While looking through our purchases we’ve spent $15,000 at the store in the last 6 months with Reno’s. We won’t be spending another dime here and we will be cancelling our Canadian tire MasterCard. Not worth the headache. Home Depot at least honours their warranty!!!!! I think the Google reviews of this store speak for themselves.

I was at Canadian Tire today, I was bragging up how much better the service has been in Prince Albert over Saskatoon stores. I found out I needed some help from the staff members at Canadian Tire. Al in Parts was the gentleman I talked to first but we realized we would have to talk to management Lyle was in charge at this time. Between Al,Lyle and finally Michelle. We live in a rural area so a big retail store is a bit of a fun excursion for my 6 year old. I will never support this location again. Had such a bad experience with this store when the snowstorm hit yesterday. Phoned the store before we went there and the customer service from automotive was already being rude through the phone. We then physically went to the store and had the same lady on the phone assisted us.
