This is a great spot for food, souvenirs, mini golf and stretching your legs! Been coming to the Red Barn for my whole life when we we go camping, go to Margaree or come back home to CB for a visit. Big enough driveway to pull in a 32 foot RV and comfortably park it.

Very cool gift shop with both the usual touristy gifts and souvenirs along with the wares of local artist and craftspeople. Great selection of t-shirts, hats, local music, books and all kinds of great things. You can even research the origins of your family name. The restaurant has awesome home cooked food and some of the best service around! One of our favourite stops when in the area and we have never been disappointed.

I stopped here on a dreary morning. The clouds drifted over the mountains and each time their bellies touched ground rain would start falling. Around the bend we saw a red barn and decided to go in for breakfast. The ladies that worked here are the BEST. So warm and sunny with stories about the area. Go in and buy something or have something to eat.

Smaller menu in the restaurant. Reservations not required but recommended by staff so you will get a table. Used to have lots of tables but thanks to COVID, now less. Good home cooked food with friendly staff. Once your stuffed, check out the souvenir shop. Excellent staff willing to help you pick out something.

Food is pretty on par with cafeteria quality food. Fries and onion rings were from the freezer and meatloaf was pretty bad. My son said the burger was dry and had no taste. I would not recommend eating here unless you are okay with fast food quality for table service prices.

Staff here were great! Lots of decently priced items in here. The building has two levels and lots of Cape Breton/Nova Scotia memorabilia. The hours of operation were a bonus because from our experience in Cape Breton, not many tourist focused shops were open past 5pm.

A waste of a drive and money. I had the grilled haddock and the fish was very off. It didn't really even taste like fish. The veggies that came with it were over-cooked and bland. At least the potato salad was OK., because that's all I ate. My husband's lasagna was just ok.

Just off Hwy 252,heading east near Baddeck, this cozy restaurant has tasty home-style cooking. It also has an amazing gift shop featuring local arts and crafts, knick-knacks, souvenir clothes items and a fine selection of books either by Cape Breton authors or about Cape Breton and Atlantic Canada.

Party of 3 had to ask the wait staff yo take our order twice and when food came out it was cold we did let them know there was an apology......offered a 20% discount for next visit......that's good but not from here and the discount no good to us as don't open till 11:30 am so to layer for breakfast. So 2 stars is plenty as to us the staff was not friendly enough to go back a second time to try for the prices they wanted.

It's a gift shop. I love the local feel to it. The talent of Cape Breton artists is on display throughout. The 2 ⭐????are due to the restaurant. Terrible, terrible place. Took 25 minutes to get a kids burger that was tougher than shoe leather. Overpriced, awful food. Go for the local flavor of gifts. Avoid the restaurant!

Very mediocre meal. Kids’ meals were $8 for small portions of deep fried Sysco frozen food. My kid’s burger was small, dry, and had some kind of weird spice combination that tasted like cloves or something. Mussels were over-cooked and rubbery, fishcakes were way too salty - as if they used straight-up salt fish without cooking or soaking out enough of the salt first. Last year I had the lobster roll and was super disappointed because it was made with some sort of salad dressing that overpowered the lobster. The waitstaff were fantastic. Fast and friendly service. Too bad about the food. We won’t be back unless there’s a major kitchen/menu overhaul.

Great deal on mugs. But regular prices on most mugs are high. Prices on small wooden lighthouses with no door or window painted on them were also too high. There was some new stock in store which is great..the previous stock was there way too many years with very little new stock added. Perhaps lower prices would result in more sales.

Was making reservations for supper with the family and the place was packed. They gave us a free round of mini golf to pass the time. About 45 mins later we were told that they were later because the people before us ordered dessert as well. When we got in to order, they apologized about the delay and took 30% off the order and a free round of golf the next time we are coming through . Great service, friendly staff and very accommodating. Food was great as well ????. Thank you to the great staff. Highly recommend.

Only about 1/2 the menu was available, rest were either out or unavailable due to the fryer not working. Great food... We were on the NL ferry for 16hr and were very hungry they were serving breakfast at 10:30 but served us an awesome clubhouse.... Great flashbacks of 2019....
