We arrived at the Campground late Wednesday afternoon after driving 6 hrs. We had a reservation that we booked over 2 wks prior . Upon check in the lady shares that there was rain this weekend so some places are soft therefore we will be moved from where we were orginally being placed. OK . As she proceeds to show us the map she shares where we go past the washrooms and showers....and says that due to the rain their showers are out of commison and she says "I hope you are self contained". I had to ask her what she meant because there was no way she way saying what I thought she was saying. She confirmed it..."shower in your own trailor". My husband immediately answered no . I had to step out or I would have been rude . So 4 days before heavy rain took out their showers. I get it they cannot help it but they do have control of taking care of bookings .We should have been called, made aware and given time then, 4 days prior, to get a booking elsewhere on Canada day week \ weekend instead of scrambling after a 6 hr drive of where we were going to stay the night little known the next 4 days that we have travelled and booked vacation off for. 1 star comes from the fact they gave us a full refund no questions asked . I do not recommend this place if they did not have the mind set or common curtiousy to call us 4 days before...even 2 days before. They had plenty of time to make us aware not upon arrival .

Enjoyed the view of the lake and the pool. The atmosphere was friendly and at the time in 2020 late July it was very private. Park owner allowed time to enjoy after official time to leave.

Nice location outside Baddeck, very good for exploring Cape Breton. Site was not very level (wheels jacked off the ground on one side). Although electric hookup was 50 amp, the voltage repeatedly dropped to 104 volts causing the EMS to disconnect. It was very warm so everyone was using their AC which contributed to the problem.

Gorgeous area. Cabin was clean and met our needs for a clean, inexpensive and dry place so we didn't have to pack all our camping gear on a quick road trip. Close to town, trip around Cabot trail, golf course, and hiking trails.
