Posting for my wife... I was approached immediately by a grumpy person, when I told her I was looking for runners for work, she rolled her eyes and huffed, ushering me towards the shoes, I asked a few questions, “is this all that’s available and are these all wide shoes“ with so little options, I asked for my size for a couple of shoes styles, only to have the shoes handed back to me and told that is your size, so I tried on a shoe of each style. Making the decision between two shoes, asked for the other shoe to purchase….. before she left for the back to get the other shoe, I stated I’ll just look at what’s on sale. She very loudly said there is nothing on sale, as I looked at the sales rack. Guess I’m leaving, as I waited for my only purchase at the sales counter… waiting was also exciting as another two sales associate approached me to see what I wanted …. Just waiting for grumpy I replied, must have gotten lost on the way to the bathroom. Yes. That’s right I am furious about the treatment at this store I’m losing my cool….. wait it gets better…… grumpy came back and asked for my email address, usually I give my phone number for membership at this store, but no a rude "I asked for your email", I said no, then after I gave her my phone number already, rolling her eyes and said phone number so rudely , I said no just ring it in, but wait there’s more ….. why am I being so rude is what the sales person "grumpy“ had to say…. At this point I just stayed silent….. I will NEVER shop at this store again…. very RUDE, Very entitled Personal….if your having a good day shop else where….. these people only make you cry and feel unworthy of being in "their" store to spend "your" hard earned money….. spend your money elsewhere!

I had to go in the first day everything opened after lock down, since weightloss I need new work pants and was unsure of sizing. The fitting room lady was great helped me find the size I needed and even went in the back to find me a second pair. For having to go out on a crazy day the staff was awesome. Yes there was a bit of a line outside because it just opened and the rules but eveyone was great and I have pants!!!

This place is a big girls dream. Clothes that fit AND look nice. Plus the staff are incredibly sweet and considerate. They're more than willing to help in any way they can. The atmosphere is welcoming with larger isles so people with mobility issues can move around easily without worrying about knocking things over. They have, however, seemingly moved the seats that were in the store by the clothing. But there's still a bench by the changing rooms if you need to take a seat. All in all, an amazing place.

I'm giving 5 stars because the customer service is excellent and the store has made a real effort to allow for social distancing. However, some of the customers have zero respect for these efforts. Today there was a woman in line ahead of me constantly stepping back into my space. While waiting she kept trying different berets in her hair, and she touched almost every set of earrings displayed. Most people were not wearing masks and were not following the floor arrows. I think I will start making my purchases online only.

Okay. Ive been trying to buy black shorts for a while now and tried Reitmans and Ricki's next door with no luck. Depending on the brand I might be a large or slightly bigger. So I went into this store to see what sizes they had. Someone came to see me at the front and I was given a once over. Awkward. I asked about their smallest size as they said XL. Okay. I probably won't fit an XL so I said thanks and turned to leave. Then they say: This is a plus sized store. Go somewhere else. I'm sorry but the way it was said made me feel so unwelcome. I can't recommend here.

Absolutely horrible experience. I spent almost 2 hours and $350 in this store and not once did I even get acknowledged by the staff. No greeting when I came in, no assistance finding anything, and no offer to get a fitting room started for me even though I was carrying around an armload of clothing. I ended up walking into a random open change room with probably about 15 items and still wasn't acknowledged or asked if I needed any help or if I was finding things okay (which I wasn't and could of really used a hand). Eventually I gave up, grabbed the items I had and headed to the counter where one of the staff members was standing around talking. I then proceeded to stand there waiting for several more minutes without any kind of acknowledgement, not even a "one moment" or anything while this staff member finished her conversation. I originally decided to visit this store because I was looking to buy a whole new wardrobe for back to school this year (something I haven't done in probably almost 10 years) and my mom told me how great this store was. However, after my experience today I will not be returning to this store nor will I ever recommend it to anyone I know. Rather, I will continue to order my clothing online from Torrid and Cleo (stores in Orchard Park Mall in Kelowna).

The selection of clothes could of been a bit better in store as I had a hard time finding items in my size but I was pleasantly surprised when they offered to order these items online in the proper size and have them delivered at my door. This made my life so easy and I appreciated it. The only thing that sucked is that I received one of my items and a piece of the belt was obviously missing. No it was not in the bag lol ... I wonder why they still shipped it to me even if it was obviously damaged and why I still paid the original price on a damaged item?! Now I have to bring it back. Mistakes happen so I won't fuss too much over it. I had an overall good experience and I will be back.

My fiance went in here to buy me some me some Christmas gift's while I was shopping in walmart. With 4 employees in the store and 2 other guests (mother and daughter) she had 0 help , surpise surpise, she got the wrong size. I feel awful, i know she could have understood the sizes (xl ,xxl, xxxl) if she had some help. She spent a couple hundred dollars with no attention from any employee. I feel terrible because I know the feeling of alienation she is going through being a (beautiful) plus sized women my whole life. It's not fun having a designated store that caters to plus size ladies that i HAVE to shop at , let alone being alienated because....why ? I can't imagine.

I went with my Mother to Pennington’s this evening. I have been buying clothes there for years. As one of the store clerks was helping me looking for leggings, the other employee leaned over and opened her purse for my clerk to look in and then opened her bag and moved things around. She asked was that good and my clerk said yes, then she left for the day. I was taken aback. I asked the remaining store clerk “were you just looking to see what she had or were you checking to see if she stole anything?”! She said that it was policy that all employees had to have their bags searched prior to leaving to make sure that they aren’t stealing from the store. What!!??? I was so unhappy hearing this that I called to my mother and told her to stop shopping and we left the store. So...policy is to feel your employees are first thieves? Very disappointed.

As a plus sized female, shopping for clothing can be a negative experience and I tend to gravitate to Penningtons because their clothing is well made and comfortable. I have been to the 8th Street location and it was terrible. The service there is horrible and I would always leave empty handed and unhappy because I would refuse to spend money in a store where no one will acknowledge that you are breathing. My good friend informed me about this location and promised me that I would feel good about my purchase. She was right. I walked in and was greeted by a wonderful woman named, Taylor. She was helpful, kind and made my shopping experience extremely fun. I ended up spending quite a lot of money but she informed me of some great in-store promotions and which did help me save some moula. This was the first time I have ever purchased an entire wardrobe at once and I felt great about it. If you are looking the best customer service in Saskatoon, come and see Taylor and Jessie... Those girls will make your day. Thank you for the great experience and I look forward to seeing you all again soon!

The cashier had a customer who had brought items to pay and decided to continue shopping while the other customer was waiting at the checkout to pay. The other cash registers were closed. She took her time to put the purchases in the bag to pass the time, the time that this lady was finishing her purchases. There were other employees who could have opened a second cash register, but it returned to the floor as if there were more people at the cash register. About 20 minutes to be skipped, I left, leaving my things there. Rotten service with barely 2 or 3 customers inside. I will never go back there, be sure. (Original) J'ai laissé mes articles là car le service est épouvantable. La caissière avait une cliente qui avait apporté des articles pour payer et à décidé de continuer ses achats le temps que l'autre client attendait à la caisse pour payer . Les autres caisses étaient fermées . Elle prenait son temps pour mettre les achats dans le sac pour passer le temps, le temps que cette dame finissait ses achats. Il y avait d'autres employés qui auraient pu ouvrir une deuxième caisse , mais elle est retournée sur le plancher comme s'il y avait plus de gens à la caisse . A près 20 minutes à être ignorée, je suis reparti en laissant mes choses là. Service pourri avec à peine 2 ou 3 clients à l'intérieur. Je ne retournerai jamais là, soyez- en certain.

This is my favorite Penningtons in Edmonton. I go here first always. The ladies are ALWAYS helpful and know the store and merchandise. I've read some of the bad reviews on here and feel the need to educate some of the people who made them. There is a difference between bad customer service and following store policy which has NOTHING to do with the staff. 1. Just because you are told you can't return something not bought in your name is NOT poor customer service...it's policy. 2.No you can't return an item worn. or no tags unless defective....again NOT poor customer service....policy. 3. Bought something 6months ago and want to return it...too late your loss, its on your receipt the time frame for returns. POLICY NOT POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE 4. When you get told something that is POLICY and it's not what you want to hear.....does NOT EQUAL POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Poor customer service is not being greeted, not helped, rudely spoken too etc. BTW I have yet to see or experience any of these things at this store from any of this staff. Be kind to them... they put up with a lot and it costs you nothing.

Wanted to purchase a sweater but was told their system was down. I was asked if they wanted to hold the item for me and I said yes, but it would be a couple of days before I could return. I was then told they wouldn't do that for me. I guess they don't need the sales, even though their sister store had to shutter it's doors? Poor service.

I felt like I was the customer in a "what not to do in customer service" video when I inquired about a specific product in the store. Basically I was pointed to a corner in the store where the items were and was informed by her loud voice that the choices were limited because of an ongoing sale. No greeting, no would I need help, not around for questions I would have had like, when would more of this stock expected or are there other of your stores in the area that may have what I was looking for .. A 'I'm with someone and can come by after" would have worked, didn't even seem like she was with someone. It was a point to the corner and good luck kinda thing.

Terrible Customer service. My dad came in today to replace a package that was lost as a ship out. Shipper needs Penningtons to create a claim, however we were told today that Penningtons will not create a claim with the shipper and as far as they are concerned once a shipment has left the building they no longer worry about what happens to it. I ship daily with businesses like Canada Post and they will receive the funds back to them to replace the lost package yet they are unwilling to replace or offer a refund. I used to be a loyal customer here, however that will change. This is unacceptable. Do not order anything from this company. If you are going to buy something here buyer beware. Go in person.

Never found jeans to fit. I like Petite due to short legs.I like Jeggins in petite. Slim leg on me is to wide. Do not want to have it fit in waist and not leg. So please bring back Jeggins. I like the store. Big and airy. The staff on April 11/19 Thursday evening was excellent. She puts the S in SERVICE. Lovely and honest. The only problem was finding a pair of jeans. I ended up going next door to additional and purchasing the pairs of pants. Two pair's of Jeggins and one pair of peddle pushers. Spent over two hundred dollars. Money you could have had if you carried Jeggins. All in all I felt I did well .I got a few nice tee's and I love your new cotton sweaters. Your new store is closer to me. It was displayed nicely. Change rooms are terrific. Thanks to you and your staff member I had an amazing time. Jeggins needed for me in petite sizes. I have a 27 inch inseam. The last thing I want to do is come home and have to shorten my pants. Its out of keeping with my 24 size butt.l

I really like this penningtons location. The staff are friendly and super super helpful. The store is always clean and organized. And whenever I bring my disabled mom to this store with me, I always see them going out of their way to offer extra help since she has mobility issues. Sadly as an Additionelle customer I'm not satisfied with this locations set up. The ladies were great and very helpful, they always are. However I spent my lunch hour in the store trying on items which I couldn't buy because they can't access my Additionelle loyalty info as this location is set up as Penningtons. It's my birthday month so they couldn't access my birthday month discount. I will now have to go out of my way to another additionelle to redeem my birthday month discount. There was nothing at all wrong with the service I recieved, the ladies are always very nice and helpful.

I was in there yesterday looking for a swinsswi that I was comfortable in for an upcoming trip. Being plus size and pregnant on top of that made it so hard to find somthisom comfy and cute! I was all over the city looking all day and couldn't find anything that fit me nor did anyone offer me any help but thank god I went here as there was a british lady (I have no idea how I forgot her name) she spent probably about an hour with me showing me different styles running and grabbing me different sizes and then helping me find an accessory for it. She really went above and beyond to help me as I was a ball of stress and feeling defeated from the day. All other staff were amazing too. This is now going to be my go to store for any shopping. Thank you again to the staff for making me feel so much better about my self and helping me as much as you did.

The staff is great but the selection sucks. I went in for t-shirts and came out very disappointed. They got rid of their shirt tables, which were my go-to for spring, summer and fall. Even the Active Zone has changed for the worse. I shop here as a plus size woman and have bought many t-shirts and Active Zone items that fit comfortably. Now they've changed them to be more like Lululemon and other overpriced activewear brands that just don't fit most plus sized females. Half the store is Additionelle clothing that fits altogether differently. Guess this gives me more reason to shop Maurices!

My wife is a frequent shopper and I go with her a lot. The staff aren't very friendly or helpful. On our visit today, not one person greeted us, asked if we needed help or even when my wife was trying on clothes she wasn't acknowledged. This hasn't happened just once, but most times we go. My wife was upset as she was looking for something specific and had no assistance. Won't be returning anymore .
