Don't get your balloons here if you want quality service. I bought a balloon here on the morning of my house party and by the afternoon I had to redo the string because it kept snapping (repeated this 3 times before the party and now the balloon has no height to it). Then it magically deflated before the party even started. Such a waste of money...

Needed some balloons filled with helium. Needed to search for staff to help us. This seems like something they should do anyways. It definitely has lots of stock. If you are buying a lot check to make sure it was all scanned/entered correctly as there are sometimes errors.

Just had a really bad experience at this store. We went up to the counter to order some balloons and first it took a while to be greeted and after we were the employee just handed them to us un-inflated and was quite rude when we asked for them to be inflated. (Why would you buy deflated Mylar balloons?) We then paid for them and were told it would be a 15-20 min wait. This was surprising because there were three employees standing by the helium chatting and not inflating any balloons. We took a walk around the store and came back after about 10 minutes. To our shock, the employees were still standing there talking. They occasionally worked on the balloons, but mostly just talked and threw things on the floor for their coworker to clean up. We stood at the counter watching them for about 5 minutes and they completely ignored us. They were swearing and speaking poorly about managers. Finally we asked that they inflate our balloons as we were in a rush and they did, but did not cease their inappropriate conversation. I don’t want to share the names of the employees publicly but it was a really horrible experience. I am extremely unlikely to return to this location.

NOT IMPRESSED...while a bunch of people waited in line to pay...only one person was diligently on cash ... the 4 people that it took to blow up one purple balloon ignored us completely... with their backs to us.... until i spoke up and asked one of them to help us...still no response....so the $180.00 i was going to spend on b-day paraphernalia i just set down on the floor and left....as did 3 other people behind me....I am not sure how that store can still be open...Worst customer service Ever

I ordered some balloons online for my son's birthday (from the party city website). I went to this location to have them inflated. They told me they don't inflate for free unless it's actually bought from their store. Not even online orders. I've had children for 9 years and have always purchased balloons online and gotten them inflated for free when buying from the Party City website. This is the ONLY location I've ever had a problem with. They have horrible customer service skills as well. The man who told me this didn't even ask if I wanted to not inflate them he just proceeded to charge me for the inflation which I told him not to do. I had to be very loud and ask him to remove the charge and give me my balloons back. Yuck.

Although the store is great for selection, the interaction I had with the brunette employee today was very unpleasant. After waiting in line for 15 minutes I was taken over to the balloon counter and was told to pick out the balloons I wanted, as I did, the girl helping me went back on the other register to help other customers. I waited at the balloon station for probably 5 minutes waiting to be checked out when the brunette employee told me to wait in the original queue again. I had told her I had already waited in that line for 15 mins and was brought over to the balloon counter to pick out what I had wanted and was waiting to be checked out as the other customers before me had who were also buying balloons. She replied with "Yup back of the line." After asking if she really was expecting me to wait another 15 minutes in line, she replied with "Yup". What a waste of my time. I was in there for about 40 minutes just to place a balloon order. Will not be ordering from here in the future.

For my sons 4th birthday I pre ordered all my balloons. Everything was ready and their were no issues! Usually I would go to Northgate party city because it's close to my house. But I've had really bad past experiences at that store.the staff were rude and unhelpful and bad customer service. Even though Sherwood park is further away its most certainly worth the extra kms. I was very satisfied with the staff and customer service I received! If ever you need party supplies go to the party city in Sherwood park! They are all awesome there!

I just got off the phone with my daughter who went their for a fun trip with the twins and her infant son to get their Halloween costumes. My daughter and her family has been in this party city sooo many times and has always had a positive experiences. Today was not that way unfortunately, she finally found all the costumes and accessories for them and went to the till to ring the items through. As the items are going through and then when she got the total she politely said to the young girl behind the counter that perhaps something had been rung in twice as it was not that much. Well the young lady patronized her (keep in mind the girl was younger then my daughter) and said honey i don't think so... So after paying and getting back to the car, strapping the kids in she checked the receipt and sure enough she was over charged so (approx five minutes had passed) she unbuckled and packed the kids back in the store to show the error. Well she waited in line patiently then when told the (a different cashier) the situation it went from bad to worse.~~ Not only did it take three cashiers and LOOKING AT SECURITY FOOTAGE~! ( i CAN'T EVEN AS HOW DARE THEY!) She finally got her money back but she was treated like a criminal, kids were hungry, baby was in need of a diaper change and all the while my daughter was trying to be polite (whilst they made her feel like she was a criminal and that she was trying to pull some scam) Trying to quiet the kids and explain to the ladies what happened. I AM APPALLED AT THE LACK of customer service skills and first they overcharge (which I get happens right) but then to put you through all that? ? ?? How dare they!!! I hope that the main upper management sees this as this is how you lose customers!! DO BETTER

Party City Sherwood Park unfortunately proved to be a frustrating experience. Yesterday, we ordered three bouquets of balloons a day in advance - 4:00 pm was our confirmed order pick up time. We reached on time but had to wait for an entire hour before we were handed a jumbled up bunch of balloons that ought to have been clipped & packed as three separate balloon bouquets! By the time we reached home the entire bunch of balloons was a whole lot messier. We had to cut off ribbons and destroy the original design . It left us struggling with a tangled mess. Please improve your services.

What a joke. Went to party city in Sherwood park after buying part of a costume at the Mayfield common location. Drive 30 minutes to the Sherwood park location because their site says that they have 5 of the costume in stock. Get there and spend 15 minutes walking around looking for the costume before finally finding someone to help and being told by the employee "oh I don't know, our inventory is always wrong, we don't have it." Eventually I found the manager who checked to tell me "no we don't have the costume." When I asked if I could take back part of the costume the manager told me I could only return it for store credit. On their shelves was things like leather shoulder pads or roman chest piece with no pants or robes or anything else to go with it. So, if you wish to get half of a costume with nothing else to match it and show up to a store where the inventory online doesn't reflect what is in store then feel free to waste your time and drive on down to PartyCity Sherwood park!

I went in looking for party they had advertised online, which apparently are not available in store despite the website saying so. This was frustrating as it means you have to buy all items separately which costs a lot more but the staff helped me out and offered me a discount, it definitely was not their fault but they did everything to make it right. The two staff who helped me, Kari and Shian, were absolutely fabulous. Unfortunately it was only the two of them working and the store was very busy, I feel like this location should make sure theres more staff on hand because it was way more than 2 people should have to deal with. Would definitely return to this location, although I think this location should schedule more staff and the online store should update to match what's in the store.

When ever I go into the store, the staff are always going above and beyond to help out their customers. However, what I've noticed with the company is that there's a lot of ignorant customers that they're stuck dealing with. However they staff, they always are willing to help when it comes to costume selection, themed ideas, and banners. Their balloons tend to not last long especially the latex ones but every time I've gone they've told me to pick up latex orders the day of the event to prevent them from being deflated. I'm a frequent shopper at this location and I don't plan on going to any other location. Thank you Ally, Jen, and Kari for being awesome every time I come shopping :)

If I could give no stars, I would. Ordered in balloons days ahead for a 50th Birthday. They said they’d be ready for pick up on Sunday at 2pm but when my brother arrived to pick them up at 4pm, they were just starting to do the balloons. Mind you, I called earlier that day to confirm. Terrible customer service esp when we spent almost $200 in balloons and decorations here. I’ll take my business and my family’s elsewehere next time.

This store is great for everything you could possibly need for a party. Their balloons dont last very long unless you buy the foil ones. The foil ones can last up to 2 weeks. Rubber ones you're lucky to get 24 hrs out of. The reason im rating this store so poorly is the staff. Ive gone in to this store a number of times and made large purchases. In general, the staff are ok, normal minimum wage employees who do just barely their job and nothing more. One employee stands out the most for her rudeness and lack of professionalism. She has been there a couple of times that ive been a customer and every experience is the same. If you happen to be in the store near closing time, she is huffing around you making sure you know its 10 minutes to closing, shes slamming things around at the till, when you ask a question, instead of telling you where to find the item quickly, she tells you the store closes in 10 minutes. Shes a professional eye roller, sigher and should not be in customer service, let alone a manager ; Ally.

Their balloons have a 24 hour promise to last. Normally I find they last longer, but the $20 bouquet I just bought lasted 24 hours including the big one. I think it is too bad they can't extend the time for the balloons to last as you often need to purchase them the day before an event. Also, I got my 3rd choice of large balloons as the first 2 were sold out. I have had good service and enjoyed the selection in the store other visits.

not very impressed. In the past I have brought outside balloons in to be filled with helium, but today I was told due to covid they could not fill them, which I would understand... but what doesn't make sense is when the staff are not wearing masks, nor is it mandatory for masks to be worn in the store, but I can't get balloons filled. Seems silly to me! but thankfully my local dollar store filled them no problems (and was a lot cheaper then using party city, or buying a helium tank from them)

I purchased balloons here prior to an event and was advised I could bring them in to be filled before the event. I called the night prior to the event to see if I could drop them off, or to see what time to come in morning and they advised that since I didn’t have a reservation they wouldn’t be able to fill them whatsoever. I found the staff to be extremely unhelpful and lacking any sort of customer service regardless of buying all the supplies here and being advised prior they would fill them.

I was here yesterday morning to get some balloons filled up that i had purchased FROM the store and had no idea I had to call before and book to get balloons filled with helium, didnt think it would take that long or be a big deal. I had a baby shower that day and needed these balloons, there was 2 girls working there filling balloons and told me they cant get them done. They were really rude about it and they definitely need more training on customer service skills that they lack. Luckily the dollar store in fort Saskatchewan helped me out and was able to fill my balloons in 5 minutes and it was 1 girl working. Blows my mind that the 2 girls at party city couldn't even help me out or anything. I got ignored the first 5 minutes of standing there. Not very happy!

It seems no matter what party city I go to, the staff are miserable working there. They never smile, are barely available to help customers, and when they do, they make it seem like they are going out of their way. Today was no exception. Went in early to get my girl's halloween costume and the staff were at the front counter blowing up balloons (which im sure they probably needed to do) but offered no hellos, no may we help you, nothing. And when I finally tracked down a staff member to grab a costume for me she definitely seemed annoyed that I had the audacity to ask her to do her job and help me as a customer. Next year I'll be sure to do all my Halloween shopping at SPIRIT where the staff actually enjoy their jobs.
