We used Self Build for a large home addition. We really appreciated that they were extremely responsive to our needs, phone calls and texts. They conducted themselves with a high degree of integrity, and ensured that they didn't leave the project until we were 100% satisfied. We had some minor additional work that needed to be done, outside of the scope of the project (discovery issues), and we were grateful that they didn’t overcharge for this additional work. It was a pleasure working with Feargus and Steve (despite how stressful a large project can be), and we highly recommend this company.

I found this company name through Kijiji. After several meetings with the owner i gave him a contract for the brick work. The total amount was around $22000.00. Initially I was somewhat nervous because the company did have any long work history in Canada. To my surprise they done fabulous work. The owner Feargus is extremely courteous. very efficient and a man of his words. He gave me a quote that was highly competitive. The job was completed within the time frame. The workmanship was great. I would be glad to recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a reliable person able to do good job at a good price. I would give ten out of ten.

They went to a number of suppliers to find the closest match to my existing brick. The work was excellent and so was the clean up. I would highly recommend using Self Build Canada.

We had Stephen and his crew do a foundation for a rear addition, demo a garage, and do exterior waterproofing for the existing house. They managed to get the foundation done under a very tight timeline. We couldn't believe how hard these guys worked to get the job done. Even as the cold weather hit they kept the pace up and worked long days to make sure the job got done. Any issues that came up were dealt with very quickly and they kept on budget and didn't charge for some extras that came up along the way. I would not hesitate to recommend Stephen and Self Build Canada.

This entire crew delivered quickly, reliably and with a standard of care that exceeded our expectations. They connected with us throughout the project, confirming different stages of the construction to ensure it was meeting our requirements. The following work was completed on a factory loft renovation: -Demolition of concrete counters, and kitchen cabinetry, drywall and two bathrooms -Framing of several rooms, including structural steel beams and posts to support a floating mezzanine bedroom -Rough in and drains for 2 bathrooms -Removal of 3 layers of paint and restoration of interior brickwork to its original patina and industrial look -Concrete floor levelling and repairs -Disposal and cleanup. Feargus’ impeccable project management and building experience kept this project on track and it was completed ahead of schedule. Every member of this crew worked together, respected our neighbours and treated our home like it was their own. They really got into the project at every stage. This team took the place of a 20+ (now retired) crew of trades we’ve worked with on many projects. Naturally we were apprehensive about starting with an entirely new team. We were so happy with their work we’ve decided to contract this team immediately for another project we decided to start this spring. The cost of this job was on par with comparable quotes. However, the extra distance, quality standards and ability to understand this unique project sets Self Build Canada apart from their competitors. I would gladly recommend Self Build Canada and plan to rehire them for future projects!

I would recommend Self Build to anyone. They are a highly professional company who delivered on everything we agreed to. We had a lot of stone work to be done including retaining walls, drainage, and loads of flag stone. This was a very complicated project and Self Build got to work the next day and we’re there every day until the job was finished nearly three months later. This summer there were some extremely hot days but the boys worked through it. My wife and I are very pleased with the end result. Self Build is a very professional company that does what they say they are going to do and they stand behind their product. Five stars!!
