I have no hesitation in recommending Carick. We've used them for a number of projects including removal of an in-wall A/C unit and subsequent bricking up of the wall (which looks great, BTW) when we first moved into our house. We also hired Carick to replace our front walkway, which 18 years later, still is in great shape with no cracking or heaving. We also used Carick for a basement bathroom remodelling: no shortcuts in workmanship or materials , which will ensure the bathroom will look great and remain waterproofed for many, many years. We've appreciated the communication we have had with Joel at the beginning, during and after each project. He only uses the best workers and we've never had an issue with any of them; in fact we've appreciated the patience Joel and his crews have had with us as we tend to have numerous questions or sometimes aren't sure of the direction to take - and our questions and concerns are always satisfactorily addressed quickly. Finally, the cost of each project has always been in line with that of their competitors. The quality of work has always been excellent, the project timelines and parameters are always explained clearly, and any issues are addressed promptly. I highly recommend Carick Home Improvements.

A trusted friend recommended Carrick and specifically Joel when a bathroom renovation from another renovator had gone particularly bad. Joel showed up assessed the situation and brought in a very professional team to clean up the mess and make the bathroom a show case. So it was only natural when I decided to build a garage in 2021 that I reached out to Joel. I could not have picked a worse year for such a project, labour shortages, product shortages, soaring material costs however Joel and his tradesmen brought the project in on time and in budget. This was a full garage project, cement Pad poured, framing, Roofing, siding, doors, Windows and a storage platform. All under the watchful eyes of city inspectors. Did Joel; run into issues? Yes, did he overcome and move forward? Yes, brilliantly. Do all my neighbors have a bad case of Garage envy? You want to believe it! Thanks Joel and Carick. Brian

I hired Carick to renovate my early 1990s condo, which included laying laminate over the old parquet, gutting and rebuilding the kitchen, and freshening up the rest of the space. I couldn't be happier with the quality and build. The credit for the kitchen goes to Mario and his team at Atlas Kitchens, but Joel from Carick oversaw a good team onsite and coordinated all the pieces. He was also very helpful when there were last minute changes he had to accommodate. I will rehire Carick to do my bathrooms in the coming years.

Don't get sucked in by these guys. They promised completion in 20 weeks but Carick did only 2 weeks work in 18 weeks. No planning, no management, no oversight, no accountability. I gave up trying to make them honour their promises and am now working with a real professional contractor. Look into how they won their "awards" -- it's meaningless.

I am extremely happy with my renovation project completed by Carick Home improvements. Geno was very professional and was in constant contact from start to finish and was very happy with the trades they used to completed my project from Paul building my separate entrance , Vince and his team framing and drywall to Slava who did an amazing job on the tiling and finishes. It was a big job main floor rebuild as well as converting the basement into a legal soundproof/firewall basement apartment. Carick took care of my plans, permit as well as the complete renovation. It was a large project for me to undertake and I am so glad I decided to go with Carick.

They had done a bathroom in my building and the guy I contacted, Geno, said it was done while the person was on a short vacation so I was expecting something similar for my basic 4-piece washroom. The company also had the Renomark seal, which was important to me. However, the guys showed up late on the first day and didn't show up while I was away for a few days. Then it dragged on for weeks. I had to keep complaining about things in order to get them to do work. I had communicated the renovation timeframe that the condo board approved to him, but I guess he didn't care. The quality of work wasn't great. There were some things they could have spent more time on or done some cleaning up of after they were done. There's still drywall compound on one of the light fixtures and they used the wrong type of paint on the ceiling, which is now peeling. What I communicated to him wasn't passed along to the workers or it was ignored. And what I thought was only going to take 3 weeks ended up taking closer to 7 1/2 weeks even though I had all the materials ordered and available for pick up or already at my home. And this was all pre-pandemic. I had to keep going to the management office to get extensions, which wasn't fun. Would never recommend or use again.

Carik renovated a bathroom for me in 2011. There was a minor problem with the caulking but it was corrected the day following my notification. In 2018, seven years later, water stopped flowing and I notified Carik requesting a fix. Since it was seven years since installation I fully expected to pay. Within two days a plumber appeared and got things back to normal. I was told that there was no charge. In 2014 I had a second bathroom totally renovated by Carik and it has performed perfectly since. In 2014 I had water in my basement and Carik sent a plumbing team around who dug up part of the basement floor and laid tile and waterproofing where necessary. I have had a dry basement since. I have found Carik's work to be of the highest quality and their after sales service to be excellent. In addition, all work was completed within the time span I was quoted. Thank you, Joel.

We selected Carick Home Improvements based on a recommendation of a friend that had a very positive experience. We were not disappointed. We hired Carick to create a self-contained basement apartment in our home. Despite the obstacles of the pandemic that occured as work started, Carick was able to find workarounds and get the job done. The trades and workers selected by Carick were first class and committed to complete an quality job. And Joel Scopelleti was also very accessible to answer questions and ready to assist when problem solving was necessary. We especially appreciated Joel's consideration of budget constraints when determining creative solutions. There was no pressure tactics or attempts to upsell. At the end of the day, we are very happy with the results and do not hesitate to recommend Carick Home Improvements. In fact, based on our recommendation, a close friend contracted Carick to undertake a kitchen expansion.
