Dave Pollock is one of the few contractors I trust. He came into our job after the last contractor tried to overcharge us and not give us a detailed estimate. He has remodeled not only our new office but I have also asked him to remodel my home. I'm sick and tired of contractors who don't deliver what they promise and are tough to deal with. I have referred Dave to 5 other jobs (my friends and collegues) and each time they were extremely happy with him. I would highly recommend him. Make sure to do your homework before you hire a contractor!

I had high hopes for Dave after meeting with him on June 23rd and going through our project with him. He contacted me on June 25th (Thursday) to let me know that he has submitted the project details (to his secretary, as I recall), and I may get the quote the next day, but June 29th (Monday) was more likely. So far, so good at this point, however... June 29th comes and goes - nothing. Then June 30th also comes and goes with no communication. At this point, I am understanding and patient given the upcoming holiday, and the fact that I know it's a very busy time of year. That said, I am still a little disappointed in the lack of communication. Now, July 2nd comes and goes, and there's still ZERO communication - not even a quick email to check in. Finally, on July 3rd (after 1 week of silence), I email Dave to let him know that I haven't received his quote yet. His exact response is "I almost have it completed I’ll have it to you by Monday or Tuesday Thanks for your patience" That was his entire message - NO apology for the delay or the lack of communication. As such, with regard to the delay and lack of communication, I say to Dave, "I have to be honest; this does not bode well for you". At this point, I was thinking to myself that it was highly unlikely I would hire Dave, but he then told me he didn't appreciate my response and he wasn't going to send a quote. With that, our business was finished before it started. Does Dave do good work? I'll never know. What I do know is he either couldn’t find the time to let me know he was running behind (a simple email would have sufficed), or he just couldn’t be bothered. *Follow up* After I posted this legitimate review of Dave and his BUSINESS practices, he is now "threatening" to post our correspondence in a negative PERSONAL review on my business.

Update - We hired Dave Pollock and Well Refined Renovations to build us a new 3,600 sq ft office in early 2018. I had an idea of what we needed in terms of look and function, and Dave and his team started by consulting with us to come up with a full construction plan that falls within our budget, while matching our identity, style and functional needs. The project turned out fantastic; I've attached some pictures of the finished product. When things got a bit behind schedule (city permits, etc.), Well Refined Renovations was quick and responsive to address the situation with the party responsible, while keeping me informed on what's happening. Dave P is a down-to-earth guy who's easy to work with and knows his craft. We've used his company in the past, and we'll be using them again in the future!

He also handled our last minute mind changes with patience, and even with all the supply chain issues managed to track down what was needed. He also brought in great tradesmen to do the work. I had Well Refined do a complete basement overhaul in consequence of flood damage and black mold, taking the opportunity to redo the bathroom and washing room, building a new guest bedroom, redoing all the insulation, new electricity, new heating system, etc. etc. In short, the job was a big one and involved networking with other work being done wrt a new drainage line, among other things. The job was made more complicated by the fact that I was a distant homeowner, living in another province. Nevertheless, Dave always kept me informed about what was going on, via emails and photos. At every stage, except one, I was presented with clearly laid out options. The only surprise came when, upon receiving the final bill, I was charged (without being forewarned) for the storage unit placed in the driveway into which furniture and belongings had been stored while the work was underway. All the work was completed to a high standard. As often happens, there were several small finishing details that had been missed. But once these were pointed out, the team quickly made the last alterations to our requirements. The bottom line is that Well Refined did a fine job, and I will unhesitatingly use them for some more extensive home renovation work in the future.

We recently had a major renovation done at our home. After shopping around for estimates, I found no one could beat Well Refined Renovations for price. So firstly I can save you a lot of time. Just go straight here first. We had a major bathroom/bedroom reno (I'm talking totally gutting our ensuite). We now have an unbelievable floor to ceiling walk-in shower, and an ultra modern bathroom including a very cool feature barn door in our master bedroom. It is very impressive and was almost 40% cheaper than other quotes. We also had an incredible stone fireplace installed in our living room. (A pic is on the site) We get nothing but compliments. So thanks again the great work done by Uew. I have nothing bad to say about the work done and friendly 'customer first" service we received from Dave and his gang of great trades people. Even with our frequent changes to colours and materials on the fly. Our job was done on time and perfect the first time. If you're considering any home renovation I would strongly suggest giving Dave a call first. Go ahead and shop around after and get othet quotes but I can assure you you won't find a better price. The work is top rate and Dave and Uwe will impress you. I will definitely be using Well Refined Renovations again.

Dave Pollock was a nightmare to deal with. He was dishonest in his quote. Late in starting the job the had hired him to do and we found out that he owes money all over the city and this is why he couldn’t get started on time. When we finally had enough and decided to get our lawyer involved, Dave told us his uncle was Commercial lawyer Harvey Pollock. He wrote a letter to us with spelling errors and wrong names etc. My lawyer contacted Harvey to seek understanding in the issue, and of course, Harvey has never heard of Dave or his company. We finally were able to get a real lawyer to release us from our contract with Well Redined renos. We have had our work completed now by a different contractor and absolutely love the work that was completed and have hired him to complete the rest of our home. Stay clear from Dave at Well redined. All of his reviews are fake and made from himself.

Does not listen well to clients vision and will change plans with no instruction or communication. Does not respond to criticism well and gets very snippy when client questions prices, quality of workmanship or scheduling. Would never recommend this company to my worst enemy. Went over budget without informing me to the final bill, went over schedule with no end point in site. Sent final bill with no walk though and job was not complete.

They got all the permits sorted out, engineer inspections/drawing required and closed everything with the city. While it may have taken longer than expected to complete the project, my wife and I are very satisfied with Dave's responsiveness to any questions we had along the way. Power Driven Electric, Friesen Floor, Ital Design and Euro Stucco did amazing work.I had to replace my veranda joists and put in piles, plus reinforce areas in the walls and Ewe was fantastic! PDE committed to fishing wire down from my attic to minimize damage to my 100 year old walls when I needed to replace all my knob and tube. Friesen did a phenomenal job with my floor and my counters from Ital Design look amazing! Everyone was friendly, professional, kept at it in 30+ weather and I would hire them again in a heartbeat!
