I was solicited for a position at norcope by Doug Gonder He offered me the position. Within his email he agreed to pay flight reimbursement to get here from Ontario a vehicle and accommodation in white horse. I let him know I was bringing my 13 year old son as I have full custody of my child. He took the offer off the table. I called him and explained having a child would not interfere with my work as I typically hire child care. He agreed to give me 1200 monthly accommodation allowance so I could find an apt or house rather then have my son at a hotel. We agreed. Though he would not pay for my flight or my sons in advance. I looked at my finances and realized I could afford to make the almost 6000km drive. When I arrived my clutch was acting up I had told him I needed the vehicle as promised. He then tells me he only has a company truck to be used for company purposes on company time. I had already dropped off my son in beaver creek until I could arrange a house here in white horse. He put me up in the days inn for 1 day upon my return and told me I was on my own from then out. I located a house 200 dollars over the allowance cost drove half way back from deep creek rd to get cell signal. And gave the information to Doug. As I awaited the e transfer he started telling me it was a bad deal (there is no other rentals avail for immediate move in at that price range) I told him I would consider a camp ground though would need the 1200 for the camp ground and camping gear. He then pushed a 1970s travel trailer on me and rented me a slip at pioneer rv on the Alaska highway. He towed the trailer over to where it sits without plates. On the rv lot he started to ask me why I didn’t have any money at 39 . I replied well bieng a single parent and my divorce was rough. I had just driven 6000 kms paid hotels and resteraunts along the way. He did reimburse me a portion of the fuel costs. I entered the rv and began to fight back the urge to vomit. I’m not sure if there was a gas leak.. there were no fire extinguishers available. I could not get the electricity to turn on to operate the gas sensor. I told Doug that the rv was unacceptable and to get his money back as I would sleep in my truck. I sent him the information for the landlord so I could go there. He replied by text that the job was no longer on the table and I should find work elsewhere. Essentially and quite literally stranding me and my son 6000 kms away from home. I am to pick up my son this weekend and pay for child care. Though now I have no job and no way home and no where to live. My truck is on its way out. My son and I have relocated for work many times in the past. I have been doing this line of work over 11 years. There are many disscrepincies in his current inspections. He has no one trained in PACP under NASSCO and is submitting written reports for each line under his brothers name to avoid any conflict of interest. Upon further investigation and conversations within the community this is not new behaviour. Norcope has been sued many times by both private and public sectors. Past employees have told me of him ripping off hours , making promises he does not keep. I have been in Whitehorse for less then a week I was to start tomorrow the day after Canada day. When he told me the job was no longer on the table I asked to Costs to return home. He then texted me telling me RCMP were called and I no longer can stay in the trailer. To be honest I slept in my truck outside the trailer as the stench was unbearable. I would not for any reason work for this company!!! My lawyers will take it from here and join the ranks of others suing this guy. 2 years later during a perimeter drain inspection I met a couple who went high school with this clown. Told me this was par for course. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HIM!
