Duane Erb Construction completed a renovation project for me on my 100 year old house during summer to fall of 2019. From the estimate to completion, they were professional, courteous, and communicated extremely well about every aspect of the project. The work that was done involved a complete kitchen renovation as well as a remodelling of the structure which included the removal of walls and changes/additions of exterior windows and doors. A deck was also built towards the end of the project. There were multiple trades involved including electrical, masonry, plumbing, flooring, and tiling. Darren Erb, the project manager, coordinated the work wonderfully, and there was a schedule provided so that I would know daily who and what was happening. This was extremely well coordinated. Any changes that were needed to the scope of work were discussed and agreed upon, with options clearly laid out for me to make a decision. Jamie the on-site project manager was incredible. He was skilled, hard-working, and delight to have in our home each day. Jamie's craftmanship and attention to detail took the project to a level that exceeded my expectations. Twila did a tremendous job with the painting, matching the new interior finishes perfectly to the existing ones. All of the staff from Duane Erb were polite, kind, and respectful. I highly recommend this company for anyone considering a renovation.

I still have two doors in my house that do not close properly after 2 yrs of requests for proper fit and repair, door handles stick, you have to pull doors to close the dead bolts for two out of the three. I can go on. The project management and communication seemed very obtuse and the measurements for the windows were incorrect also, making for difficult window casing installation and also required an alteration to the soffit to allow for some windows to actually open. I actually agreed to change the window supplier as a result of Duane Erb not being able to supply what was promised on time, likely this was also a mistake. The "on-site" trades were GREAT even though they were given the wrong materials to install more than once. The window casings in the basement were more than 6" short! I would not recommend this contractor unless you are basically a contractor too, they didn't even get the proper permits for our renovation, I had to pressure them to at least get an engineers approval of the structural changes; it was not offered to me. Ask lots of questions, and keep your paperwork straight if you think this contractor will be right for you. Nathan.

In early 2021, we had a large renovation to our home performed by Duane Erb Construction Inc. (DECI) in Waterloo, ON. They created a fine design and then undertook remodelling of two bathrooms, one powder room, and one large kitchen/breakfast room. The quality of their work, pricing, and communication were entirely to our satisfaction, and the project was completed on time, and on budget. They were tidy and thoughtful of our needs while their work was underway, and interactions were always congenial and professional. We recommend DECI without reservation.
