Showed up at the store to look at getting my gas fireplace (insert) serviced and was asked to leave my name and number to the lady behind the counter. She said her husband would call me and I never heard from him. I called the store 1 month later and left a message asking if they would follow up with me and they never did! VERY VERY POOR customer service, not even worthy of 1 star.

From the first moment I spoke to Mike, he did everything he said he was going to do. He arrived on time and when he said his crew was going to be here to work, they were here. Kathy helped us with the admin stuff and got us all sorted with our rebates. They installed our beautiful fireplace and we are super happy with everything they did for us. Would highly recommend!

I wish I could leave a positive review as Kathy was very amicable on the phone but I can’t. They left my mother who is a senior without the use of her Regency fireplace for over a year. They claimed to have lost the part and assured me that they would call my mother directly about this but to date have made no effort at all. My mother has also tried to call them several times but they won’t answer the phone. I really hope they do not treat all their clients like this as they will be out of business very very soon. My mom has since given up and is having another store do the repair for her. Thank you for nothing, Kathy…

We are so glad we got a quote from vernon stone . Not only was the price competitive the service was above and beyond. The installer ( I forgot his name ) was professional and courteous , install was a breeze and no mess left behind. As I am fairly handy we went with installing our own stone.. Mike was very helpful in explaining what steps to take and mistakes to avoid in installing wallboard and rock. Kathy was extremely helpful in securing our rebates from fortis and fireplace manufacturer. Overall a great experience recommend them highly.

The service I received at Vernon Stone was exceptional. Kathy was extremely friendly, genuinely kind and understood my needs when it came to replacing my old, broken wood burning stove with a new one. Knowing that I depend on a wood stove as my only heat source in the winter, Vernon Stone worked incredibly hard to complete the job in a short amount of time. The installation crew was friendly, efficient and worked diligently to get the job done with zero hassles. I had been calling this company for my decks (that they did originally) for the past 2 years to do some maintenance/repair and have been told the following excuses: Year 1 I was told these excuses multiple time: "We have your name on the list and someone will get back to you." "We have a crew up in your area and someone will drop by." Year 2 I was told this: "Oh sorry, we lost all your contact info due to a staff turnover but someone will call you back." "Yes, you will be called back." Not a single one of these promises were honored. By far, the worst company and customer service I have ever experienced in my life.

I am so happy with the quality of the work that Mike and his crew did on our home. The outside is amazing and is definitely the nicest looking house in the area now. Jayden was the man on site and this guy is an artist with stone he took his time and made things right any questions we had were answered. We had an electric stove installed also with rock work and yes that too looks awesome and we now have a comfy place to watch the game!! If you have any doubt about Mike or Kathy and the way they operate I will tell you this. I would have no problem recommending them to my family members and friends. Please save yourself time, money and frustration and take your business elsewhere!!! We put a deposit on a fireplace and had it ordered. We had scheduled the initial inspection for this afternoon. The owner Kathy called my husband just before noon and left a message that since he didn't pick up the phone they would be rescheduling our appointment. We called them back within 20 minutes and I spoke with Kathy directly saying that we had taken the afternoon off of work to be able to accommodate their inspection availability, and that it would be a significant inconvenience to now have to reschedule. She stated that she assumed that we weren't home because my husband missed the call. I let her know that this wasn't the case and that we are ready and waiting for the inspector to come anytime in the afternoon, and that her assumption wasn't correct. She told me that she didn't appreciate that I pointed out her error in assumption and that she was cancelling our order completely. ABSOLUTELY ridiculous customer service, ability to communicate effectively, or take responsibility for one's actions. Given this owners actions we are happy to take our business elsewhere and feel that if she treats people in this manner that we have really dodged a bullet. There are 2 other fireplace stores within one block of this one - save yourself time, money, and frustration and don't give your business to Kathy!

Vernon Stone has done a number of things for us as we built a new house in Lake Country. Sierra Stone decks, stonework around the house and pillars, additional stone around our fireplaces. The work is always top notch and professional, looks great, and expensive but worth it for the quality. He is very busy as he is a hands-on contractor and very much in demand. I would totally recommend Vernon Stone.

This is just a criminal place! promised to install a fireplace and payed everything up front and on the end they have only excuses for everything and tried to take money without to do any work! Always we try to talking with them we would take the fire place, is not possible, is it really the way we live in canada now, not my canada! Keep away from this place got ripped of 1000 dollars just for nothing!

Kathy enthusiastically sourced out a Canadian supplier for our hard-to-find fireplace grate, and piggy-backed delivery with an incoming order to save on shipping. A small sale for her, but a big deal to us! Kathy was always fun and informative on the phone and dealing with her in person was a real treat. We'll certainly be going back for our stone and fireplace needs!

I had Vernon Stone install Sierra Stone for me on two occasions that amounted to over 2,000 sq.ft. of finished area. Any issues or concerns that I had with the job were dealt with promptly and I am totally pleased with the work Vernon Stone did for me. I also purchased an entire outdoor kitchen, including Danver stainless steel cabinets, a Lynx barbeque and side burner, a Perlick fridge and commercial exhaust system. The only problem I had was with the fridge. When I brought the issue to their attention, they went above and beyond my expectations in having the matter resolved which resulted in a very expensive fridge being replaced at little cost to me. Bottom line is I am 100% satisfied in my dealings with Vernon Stone, Kathy and Mike.

Not a good choice. Work never done right. Claimed he fixed it for a reduced price when contractor who originally hired him asked him to help us out . Not fixed and he never got back to us with so much as a phone call. Tried to get a response for a year! Huge water damage and all the issues that come with that. Poor workmanship, and horrible customer care.

We had an excellent experience with Mike and Kathy. From the help we received in store, to the service and installation of our lovely new Regency fireplace. In addition, Mike saved us from a potential catastrophe with our old chimney, which was cracked and on the verge of collapsing (which we were not aware of!). Mike came up with a practical solution that saved us money and our roof. Worthy of a 5 star rating for sure!!

Vernon Stone Products this is the last place you want to order stone for your house quoted me a price and then screwed around for 6 weeks giving me one lame excuse after other, I think the husband screwed up with the price and then decided to just jerk me around.

I bought a Regency gas fireplace from Vernon Stone this fall. Regency had a promotion for free venting. The supplied venting didn't work for my installation. I didn't get any after sale support or help from Vernon Stone. I was willing to pay whatever the cost for the proper venting in order to get my stove working, but they couldn't figure out I just needed a couple pieces of ICC chimney. I had to do my own research in order to get my stove working and in the end I went to Sunfire Systems in Lumby, who were professional, knowledgable and very helpful from the moment I walked in the door. Sunfire knew what I wanted, had the venting in stock and had me dialed in and running in 30 minutes.
