They kept me informed and responded well to my sense of urgency. Our furnace quit working Saturday morning. We phoned Applewood’s emergency number and a Tech came and found a control module was not working. Monday we found out the part was $1000.00 and 3 weeks away as they did not handle this model. We asked about a new Lennox furnace to replace brand X . Had them replace the furnace in our house when the old one died. The filter unite they installed requires a 20x20x5 filter that can't be bought in stores or special ordered through a supplier , it can only be bought through them for a $100, i found the exact filter on Amazon for $138 for a 3 pack am I being scammed or just good business on there part , it requires this size filter because it's a high efficiency system and we cannot use the 1-in filters we could get, due to its undersized and doesn't allow maximum airflow that's required and would possibly void the warranty be aware people on what they install

Initially I made an appointment with Applewood for annual furnace servicing, but then our gas fireplace stopped working so I asked Applewood if they could check the fireplace also when they came to service the furnace. When the tech arrived he was unaware that he was to look at the fireplace also, but he worked with it for probably an hour, calling the office frequently to get advice. He was very professional, and did his best, but was totally unfamiliar with the fireplace, and in the end was unable to make any difference to it. As far as I can tell his work on the furnace was fine, but I feel I wasted an hour of his time and my money to have him look at the fireplace. I have now made an appointment for the fireplace with Air Tech, the company that installed the fireplace and will see how that goes. I would recommend Applewood for furnace servicing, but not for gas fireplaces. P.S. Air Tech is the place to go for gas fireplace servicing - tech knew exactly what he was doing, diagnosis was systematic and precise, had part in his truck, and fireplace repaired in one short visit.

Applewood Heating is by far #1 in the Vernon area. We were looking to have both our 40 year old furnace and our 8 year old hot water tank replaced (with tankless). We got three quotes (the other two shall remain nameless). We had never had Applewood do any work for us before so we thought we would give them a chance. Best decision we ever made. Applewood was the best price. One of the other two quotes was actually 40% higher than Applewood's quote so it pays to call Applewood. Scott from Applewood was incredibly professional and very technically knowledgeable. Scott listened to our objectives and came up with an install plan that was the right solution for us. He even helped us with our gas fireplace. The install teams were highly professional and a pleasure to have in our house. We needed a replacement of our furnace and A/C unit. All staff right from the repair person,estimator, installation crew and office were excellent and were receptive to my sometimes dumb questions. All information was precise given to us on what we needed on the models offered. Also helping me with the Fortis gas rebates. Little bit of a hiccup after the install of the furnace control panel but are making sure we're completely satisfied. Also was a great help setting up the 2 new wireless thermostats. Finished all of the install in 1 day and approximately 3 hours. Work areas cleaned and the guys very respectful of our carpeting areas.

Our air conditioning quit during the heat wave, and I called around to find a repair person. Applewood was the first to call me back, and although they were booking into August (it was middle of July) there was a cancellation and they were able to squeeze me in. Brent took care of our AC. It turned out to be a quick repair, and yet he took the time to check everything out, as well as the furnace. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He had good advice as to how to extend the life of both the furnace and the AC unit. I was more than a bit impressed and pleased. In the end, I was very happy with the work Glen and Pam did to resolve my issues and ensure that everything was working properly. Woke up to -16c weather and our furnace not working. I talked to Pam on the phone at 7:30am. She took our booking and had a repairman (Glen L.) at our door by 9am. It took Glen about 2 minutes to determine why the furnace wasn't working and start doing the repairs. Glen also took the time to do a quick maintenance check which resulted in him cleaning a part that is necessary for continued good operation to ensure I won't be calling them back in the near future. With their computer system Glen was able to review our file on his tablet prior to starting work so he was well aware of the furnace's history. Applewood did the furnace install 20 years ago, the air conditioning (a couple of years later), & hot water tank (4 years ago) and has maintained them all since installation. 10:00am, a mere 2.5 hours after my call, Glen had completed the repairs and was on his way to the next call. The best part (other than having a working furnace) was the bill was more than reasonable. I don't usually do reviews and I don't usually recommend businesses to anyone. I will make an exception to that rule for Applewood. If I need any work done in the future they'll be my company of choice and if someone asks I will be giving them a two thumbs up reference. Thanks Pam and Glen for the excellent work and thanks to Applewood for the more than fair price for the work done.

after a few disappointing interactions, i looked for an hvac contractor online and was struck by how many good reviews applewood had. i figured that was a good indicator and called them for an estimate for a rooftop heat/cool unit at my wife's place of business. they were prompt, accommodating to my wife's schedule and came in with a very acceptable price. the actual installation was done professionally, on time and surpassed my expectations completely. we had 5 different applewood personnel onsite at various times, all of whom were very good at their respective jobs, and all of whom gave it 110%. i found them to be courteous, helpful, quick-thinking and innovative. i would recommend applewood without hesitation. mark levey enderby, bc

They got the job done, but the customer service was severely lacking: 1. I don't know if this is common, but I had to pre-pay for the part and the shipping so they would even place the order instead of it simply putting in with the service bill (more on this later) - if I didn't pre-pay, for the part and shipping, they wouldn't order it. They also didn't offer any alternative options like waiting to put the part on their next order. 2. They never sent me a bill or receipt for any services or payments after the service was completed (more on this below). 3. They waited 4 months (today) to bother to tell me that they never charged me for the diagnostic service or work to replace the part and dropped this cost on me in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic when many - including myself - are not working. 4. After they charged my card for the outstanding balance, I waited half an hour for them to send the receipt before I called and request them to send the receipt AGAIN. 5 minutes later they finally send me the receipt. 5. When I called back to clarify the receipt, the person on the other end was not understanding, did not apologize for any delay in sending the receipt (at the time of service 4 months ago, or today), or for not charging me 4 months ago and the inconvenience of dealing with it now. *A Bonus Tip: never say "I might be wrong" when speaking over the phone with this company, as the person I dealt with bluntly responded with, "you ARE wrong." I mean, at least try to have customer service. *A Second Bonus Tip: correspond through email so you have a paper trail and can refer to previous conversations so you cannot be told "you are wrong" I'm giving 2 stars because despite what I would say was garbage customer service from all of the above points, the service people were awesome and fixed the problem first try, and they did call me before charging my card. *A Third Bonus Tip: Go with another company...I don't recommend dealing with this company not because they do poor quality work, but because it's simply not worth speaking to the customer service/office person you have to deal with over the phone.

Having your furnace deciding to take a holiday is bad enough but to have it take a holiday on a LONG WEEKEND is something else . The word PANIC comes to mind, however one phone call to APPLEWOOD in VERNON and 25 minutes later in walks Nick one of Applewoods technicians . I am not kidding . Anyhow the motor in the furnace had blown its last blast of hot air and because this was a long weekend it could not be replaced until the Tuesday after the hols, we were given two space heaters which we were more than happy with . Tuesday morning arrives and so did a new motor and a different technician . To find a more helpful and professional company I cant see that happening and to put a cherry on the cake our son Buckley picked up the tab . Again many many thanks Applewood . Do not go to this company. Under no circumstance would I ever recommend anyone use Applewood. They have left my house over 5 times to fix a gas leak in which they did not fix. They also installed venting in my basement that seymors said did not even vent properly. It took fortis shutting off my gas to get Applewood back in to attempt to rectify the issue. In which they came in worked for two hours and then told me in their exact words. "If gas is still leaking get another company". My property manager called another gas fitter and they fixed the two leaks within an hour. I have called the owner numerous times and after about two weeks of leaving messages I finally spoke to him. He defended his company and stated that Fortis was detecting false readings. He also said that his staff recorded my wife and myself. He says that his contractors recorded personal audio of my wife and myself having a personal conversation in another room. I have reported them to the authorities and have consulted PIPA on this issue.

We have used Applewood Heating for our furnace servicing for several years with Rob doing most if not all the servicing. So when we had an issue with our AC suddenly not providing the cooling we needed, it was natural for me to call Applewood Heating for a service call. Given the time of year when AC systems usually have problems, I was expecting to have to wait for a week before I could have anyone come to our rescue. When I phoned to book an appointment, I was given one only two days later. I received an email confirming the timing of the service call, then on the day of the appointment the serviceman called to see if he could arrive earlier than the booking (2hrs earlier) naturally we said yes. I wasn't sure which service technician would arrive but was happy to see a familiar face (Rob) show up. He diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes, had the needed replacement part with him, did the replacement in about another 10 minutes and was on his way shortly thereafter, and we had a working AC again and were happy to pay the much less than expected invoice amount.

On Dec 22 our thermostat screen was all jumbled again and it was 25 below with -30 predicted for the Christmas weekend. Again I phoned Pam. She said that although they were even busier that the day before, she would get a repairman to our place (north of Falkland) that same day. Brent arrived just after 11 am, put in a new thermostat, showed us carefully how to use it, and checked out other things. He was pleasant, conscientious, and competent. We have dealt with Applewood since they installed our heating system in 2008, and have always been so happy with their service. We have recommended them to several others, including to our Falkland Community Church, and everyone has always been extremely satisfied with their service. Pam, Al, each of the repair people, and anyone working there have always gone above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that everything turns out perfectly, no matter what the problem. They are wonderful people, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and conscientious. And, despite being overwhelmingly busy with phone calls desperate for immediate help, somehow Pam always manages to be cheerful and caring.

I called in the morning of December 20, 2021.....a cold monday!. Our furnace had failed during the night and we both had to work. Applewood's service manager was able to move things around and had technician Brent come for 1 PM the same day. Brent called me 15 minutes prior and I met him at the house. He is a very proffessional and easy to talk to individual. He quickly found the problem, had the part on hand and replaced it. We fired up the furnace and it was working again. He started to check over other failure points of the furnace and found another potential future issue and just advised on it. Do to the very low cost of that part, I had him replace it as well. Brent finished going hrough the rest of furnace explaining the whole time what he was doing and I got to learn about my furnace and preventative maintenance tips. As I write this, we are enjoying a very warm house again. I am confident the furnace is ready take on quite a few more winters. i highly recommend Brent and Applewood and cannot thank them enough! Installation of our new instant hot water was poor, cannot access the flushing connections, they cut a hole in our pantry to access something, then covered it with a vent that was to small - I had to go buy a bigger one. They made a mess of our ceiling when they accessed the attic, the outside vent is crooked, no one told us how to service the unit or that it had to be flushed every two years. Horrible company.

Over the years we have had a number of furnace repair people look into our concerns that our forced air furnace was not working properly with excessive use of electricity, poor on/of cycling and inability to maintain heat levels during cold periods. Glen arrive the next morning after we called and he identified a problem that apparently existed at the time of installation 16 years ago which mean the furnace was working at 50% capacity all this time. Glen was friendly, professional, competent, efficient and very knowledgeable. Such a nice surprise compared to other vendors that we have used in the past.

We have used Applewood for all servicing and maintenance of our gas appliances, as well as renovation upgrade installations. They have always been very professional and responsive to our requirements. Most recently Brent serviced our heat pump - initial temporary repair got us through the first few days of the current record-setting heat wave, and then installation of a replacement part yesterday and now we can confidently keep cool as the thermometer outside soars to 46 Celsius!
