Darrell was very prompt to come and climb on roof to give me an estimate and he took measurements while on roof . He was thorough, honest, polite and very personable . He underpromised- but over delivered with service and timeline. He worked hard along with Mike and his crew to ensure every aspect of the job ( Re/roofing house and garage) - which was 23-25 years old was done in a fast and efficient manner. Replaced all flashings on all 3 of my skylights and it all got done in 2 days :) So grateful and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional job done in a timely and efficient manner. Super clean up done and Mike took a magnet to the property and adjacent ones to ensure no nails had been left behind ! Thank you Darrell and ( Mike and crew). You guys are awesome !

Millwall roofing should be part of your roofing project candidates. My house is three storages above ground (really high) with incredible steep roofs and has weird protrusions. Thus, requiring a lot of manpower, technical skills and patience to deal with. Prior to signing with Millwall roofing, I have gotten quotes from five other contractors yet none of them I feel comfortable to go with. Some quoted at really high price with cheap material, some quoted at lower price but has quite a bit of leak complaints, some are not as transparent with their scope of work, and others received complains of owners having problems with the workers. Admittedly, Millwall was not the cheapest option, but for the price I got good quality mid-tier shingles with one of the top shingle manufactures (Malarkey), as well as workmanship that echoed with other google reviews. Despite we encountered several obstacles throughout the job, crew was open to communicate and addressed my concerns in the utmost professional matter. Darrell, the owner is a very honest, patient and reassuring person who will not leave the job or his client with no closure. Overall, if you are hesitant on which contractor to hire, I would recommend Millwall. One unrelated note, please leave Darrell’s Toyota Tacoma alone. It is an old truck but it is a good truck.

We recently had Millwall complete a re-shingling job for our house and garage. Not only did they charge a very reasonable fee, the service is what we were most blown away by. Simply put: they were just nice people. Kind, respectful and cleaned up after every day. We were new homeowners and we ran into many companies while we were collecting quotes that treated us like idiots. Darrel at Millwall treated us like people and never once did we feel we were taken advantage of. We can’t recommend this company enough. Fair price, excellent work and good people to be around.

After getting estimates from a number of highly reviewed roofing companies, I opted for Millwall Roofing simply because they offered the best competitive price for the roof as well as having the ability to deal with our leaky chimney and aging gutters. For a while it was between them and another company, but, as soon as we told Darrell that his initial estimate was a bit higher then his potential competition, he quickly matched the price and negotiated from there any additions (chimney, gutters, etc). The crew that came were friendly enough, and surprisingly quiet - they weren't blasting music or having loud conversations. They also cleaned up after themselves and were very polite. The entire roof with plywood installation (we didn't have any!) + tearing down our chimney to the roofline took 1.5 days. The gutters an additional 1/2 a day a few days later. The criticisms we had were: 1) Chimney bricks left a few pits on our lawn. - Darrell apologized and said in the future with others they would lay plywood down so the bricks don't do any damage. 2) There was leftover concrete/mess from the roofing in our gutters - they knew this was going to be replaced but it wasn't done until a few days later so on the first rainy (stormy) day afterwards, there was a back up and water pooled and poured off the edges. Darrell was surprised by this and said he'd make sure this wouldn't happen in the future. Other then that, it was a good experience. I don't feel that I paid excessively but I also don't feel that I got an incredible deal. Having said that I would recommend the company to my friends/family. It was all fair and I'm happy with the work/experience.

I went with Millwall because I felt confident with Darrell's knowledge, professionalism, and quick response time. Darrell explained the benefits of Malarkey shingles, the curb appeal of high-profile ridge caps, and the correct underlayment for a shiplap deck. The crew hooked up a loose downspout, cleaned the gutters, and took a magnet bar over the lawn to pick up nails. In closing, I'm satisfied with the professionalism of Darrell and his crew and my new roof looks superb.

I needed a new roof and obtained several estimates. Darrell Macdonald, of Millwall Roofing, was the first to respond to my request for a quote. When I met Darrell, it was clear that he was very knowledgeable and experienced in residential roofing. He seemed honest and reliable. Darrell made sensible recommendations and provided a fair quote. Although Millwall's was not the cheapest estimate I received, I decided to contract with the company for my roofing job, as I was impressed with Darrell and the online reviews of his company's work. The re-roofing work began more or less on schedule. The work crew was friendly, professional and hard-working. Hot weather slowed completion of the work by a few hours, but the roofers stayed late and did what they had to do to finish the job. The new roof looks great and should last for many years. Overall, I was very pleased with the work done, and enjoyed working with Darrell. One criticism, mentioned by other reviewers, is that the work crew did a poor job of final cleanup - I found a couple of dozen nails and lots of discarded roofing materials lying around my yard and driveway - so expect to have to do some cleanup yourself, after everyone goes home. I will say, though, that Darrell is very responsive to client concerns or complaints, addresses them promptly and appropriately, and genuinely wants his clients to be happy and satisfied. I had a very positive experience with Millwall Roofing and I would not hesitate to recommend this company to friends and family. I rate this business four and a half stars.

Darrell was great to deal with. From our first conversation to job completion was a good experience. Our roof was replaced ahead of schedule and on budget. There was a mix up of some more expensive ridge caps from the supplier, so Darrell pushed to get enough for our house at no extra cost. There were some delays scheduling our gutter replacement, but Darrell answered all of my questions in a timely fashion. Gutters were replaced in a day and the job is excellent. Overall I'm happy I decided to use Millwall Roofing and would recommend them to others.

Very unprofessional In May 2018 we got a quote from Millwall Roofing to re-shingle our roof. We of course got quotes from various roofers. When we contacted Millwall to say that we would like to go ahead with them, since their quote was the best and included chimney work, Darrell asked us what the other quotes were. We thought this was unusual, and just stated that his was the lowest. He then said he wanted to revisit the price. After stating that he should stick to his quote, he finally agreed to do so. Since we have a rental suite in our house, we decided to postpone the work until September, when we would leave it vacant so as not to disturb the tenants. We told Darrell this, and he said he had one job scheduled for just after Labour Day, and that he would do our roof next. When we contacted him in early September to firm up a date, he said that he was now not available until October. We reminded him that we had arranged this months in advance, and that we had left the rental suite empty (and lost one month’s rent), so that the job could be done. He refused to honour his commitment to do our roof as planned. In our view, the attempt to revise his original quote, plus inconveniencing us in relation to our rental suite when we had planned the work months in advance, are both very unprofessional.

I give Darrell a 5 stars review neither because he is the cheapest nor he is the best. But rather a unique experience I had from this roofing project. I contacted few contractors for quotation. Darrell was the first one responded and insist to come immediately. He is kind of old school that he is the only guy actually climbed up the roof and look at my roof. Then he wrote me a paper quotation. He even prefer a old fashion cheque rather than E transfer. But he gave me an impression that he strongly believe in traditional value. He care about his job, his reputation. More importantly he care about how his customer think about his work. The other contractor used the Google map to determine the area of my roof. One even download the picture of a different house. When I email him and he replied “Oops, wrong house.....but I am not changing the price”. The last guy came and eyeball the roof and gave me a quotation double the price of Darrell. So I gave the job to Darrell and picked a colour from his samples. Just like every other renovation project, there was some scheduling conflict and hiccup. But later he gave me a date and said “ We will honor it and won’t leave until your job is done” At scheduled, His crew show up right after crack of dawn and start banging away at 7:00am. They swing their hammer hard under the scorching sun and finished the job earlier than expected. Few days later, the gutter guys also came and replaced the gutter. Exactly 2 days later, a movie location scout knocked on our door and said to me “Your ROOF and your house fit the profile of our new project, may I rent your house for a movie shoot?” It is well known that BC movie industry pay generously. So I have my new roof all paid for. Everything happen for a reason. But I strongly believe if it wasn’t for Darrell commitment to his job, the whole story would ended differently. Keep it up Darrell. I asked a quote from Darrel from Millwall Roofing based on my research in Google Map and Homestars. It turned out to be a good choice. Darrel is reasonable and very easy to deal with; he provided a very fair price and good workmanship. The construction is neat and clean (very important with neighbours around you). Darrel delivered a higher grade of asphalt shingle material due to shortage, and because he was trying to complete the job before my wife's travel aboard. The upgrade was $2,500 in the quote but he only asked for $400 extra for the extra labour required for the thinker material, which I think is a fair deal. Millwall is quite busy and it took us some time to start the work. I would recommend Millwall to anyone who is considering re-roofing but start your inquiry early so you can have re-roofing done before the raining season.

After getting multiple quotes to replace our roof last summer, I selected Darrell at Millwall Roofing. Millwall wasnt the most expensive but wasnt the cheapest price either. I felt comfortable with his professionalism. His crew was quick and efficient. I had noticed some nails in the yard after they left and contacted Darrell. His team came by the next day to do a further sweep to clean up. 10 months later, I had an issue with a fallen gutter that may or may not have been affected by the roof repair. I called Darrell with respect to the warranty. Although, he mentioned it likely wasnt covered under the warranty, he nevertheless agreed to reimburse me for the repair costs. I explained what my friend required and where they lived and asked Darrell if could give them a call which he did immediately. He made arrangements to go there the next day. My mistake but I forgot to tell him it was a flat roof home which they do not handle. He then got hold of a contractor which does do this type of work to handle this project. I had a small leak in my roof and Darrell came out within 2 days of me calling him, on a long weekend! He found the problem quickly and repaired it along with several additional soon-to-be problems. He photographed everything and explained to me what was going wrong and how he would fix it, then showed me photos of the work he had done. On May 10, 2018 I phoned Millwall Roofing to repair some loose gutters. Darrell came later that day. I went up on the roof with him and he showed me what had to be done. He also suggested cleaning the gutter at one corner of the roof and some caulking and new screws on some of the vents. Everything he showed me clearly needed attention. He was not "high pressure" and didn't suggest anything that didn't need fixing. Within a couple of hours he finished the jobs and showed me exactly what he had done. I was very pleased with his work. He was very courteous and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend him. Fast forward to June 20, 2019. A piece of metal facia had detached from our siding at the roof and fell to the ground because a moving truck hit our internet cable. I phoned Millwall. Darrell came, at the time we agreed upon, to give an estimate. Since it was a small job, he did it right away. He was able to straighten the damaged facia and within 30 minutes had the job completed for a very reasonable price. I am 100% pleased with the work and the interaction with Darrell.

The original roofer made many promises that he would send someone by to take a look, but eventually stopped responding to me. My neighbour hired Millwall and I poached them for this small job. When Darrell, the owner, drove up to my house in his beat up pick up for our appointment after gotten lost in finding my place, I was pretty sure he will not be my first or second choice. By the next day, he had already done a temporary repair of the leak for us, and touched up a few other problems. He gave us a quote to have our roof replaced (which it needed after 20 years). He told us that the flat section of our roof was still ok, and did not need replacing, so he did not try to sell us things we didn't need. He was honest and gave a reasonable price. The work was done a few weeks later, over a 2 day period. The quality of the work was excellent. Highly recommended.

We contacted several companies in July for an assessment of our roof and quotes. Millwall was the only one to come out and go up on our roof before providing a quote. Darrell took pictures to illustrate the current state of our roof and walked us through our options. We decided to go ahead with replacing our cedar roof with asphalt shingles, as well as putting on new gutters to replace our damaged ones. We went with Millwall because they provided the most detailed feedback, and were a bit less expensive. We were originally given a date in late September, but then received a call that due to a cancellation our work could be moved up into early August, if we were interested. We went ahead with this, and the roof work was completed in 2 days. Our disruption was minimal, the crew cleaned up each day and the new roof looks great. I was very pleased with the excellent job that Darrell and his crew did in replacing the cedar shakes on my carport roof with asphalt shingles. I received quotes from 5 companies, all very well known in the Lower Mainland. Darrell’s company stood out as having the most reasonable price with materials as good as or better in quality than the other companies. He was also the best at getting back to me quickly with a detailed quote and specific date to do the job and when I had any questions. Darryl was one of the contractors we got assessments for fixing a leak in the chimney and the only one that went up to the roof to check the cause of the leak. The other two simply look up the chimney for our yard and asked us to do replace the flashing, replace the cover with an estimate of over 1200 dollars. Darryl fixed the leak by clogging the gaps he found and charged us 200 dollars. Our chimney leak is now fixed. We are so impressed by his honesty and knowledge that we got him to replace our gutters and his team did a good job with a very reasonable price.

Darrell and his team amazed me. When I called, he came quickly and gave me an EXACT estimate. He also was able to start within weeks and finished in a day and a half. He took care of us and all of our needs. We recently had our driveway done and Darrell made sure that the bin did not make one single scratch. First of all, I would like to thank Darrell and his team for doing such an awesome job on our new roof. Our family loves the new natural wood coloured roof on our home and garage. When our family was looking to get our roof done, we approached several top-rated roofing companies in order to get quotes. I was surprised at the fact that some companies did not even bother coming in for an inspection and relied on Google Earth to roll out estimates. However, when we contacted Millwall Roofing, Darrell was happy to come in during the weekend to inspect our old roof. In the end, we chose Millwall Roofing because we were very impressed with Darrell's level of service and friendliness during the inspection. When you talk to the guy, you can feel that he is very passionate and proud of the work he's doing. I don't know about you guys, but I would entrust work to Darrell any day over rude individuals giving out estimates from Google Earth. Overall, the job took two full days to complete. Our family was extremely satisfied with the quality of work done by Darrell and his team. We would definitely recommend them to our friends and families in the future.

First off, I’m a finicky guy that pays close attention to detail. I recently purchased a 30-year old home and the asphalt shingle roof had been recently replaced, however, my detached garage and workshop still had the old shakes (no plywood). I located 3 roofing contractors based upon positive on-line reviews to add plywood and replace with asphalt shingles to match the house. Millwall Roofing was the lowest by a significant margin. The other two roofing contractors did not even spend half the time formulating the estimate with me that Millwall Roofing did. By taking the time to understand what I wanted and discussing the details, Millwall Roofing made me feel comfortable and that I could trust them. I was initially a little hesitant because they were the lowest bid and sometimes in life you get what you pay for. I had some other type of work done previously where I went with the lowest bidder and I ended up regretting it later. This was not so with Millwall Roofing. Not only were they the lowest price, I can say the workmanship was superb even to my standards. There was some flashing detailing that I wanted just right, and I was presented with a few different options. By being able to discuss the details, I believe I was able to make an informed decision. I’m not sure the other roofing contractors would have entertained my attention to detail. A further note, Millwall Roofing had completed my job about a year ago, and I wanted to be sure that there were not leaks or issues prior to writing a review. As of this writing, there has been no issues whatsoever. Great job, Millwall Roofing! I was pleasantly surprised to win on two fronts: price and workmanship. We had a bad roof leak that started late on a Saturday night. After leaving many messages for the companies advertised as open 24/7 and performing emergency repairs, we were left with no responses on Sunday. Millwall Roofing was listed as closed on Sundays, but it had excellent online ratings- so left them a message as well. The call was returned within 15 min and Darrell was already at the house in less than 2 hours. We received very thorough inspection, explanation of all issues and emergency repair- all very promptly, professional and at a far less than expected (based on other companies) cost! The roof was sealed and stopped leaking, which prevented a far worse damage as heavy rain continued and the situation was getting very dire- so, here the timing and Darrell's skills were everything. Further pleasant surprise was that there was absolutely no pressure to commit to further repairs with Millwall Roofing and no salesman pitch- we were left with great timely service and well explained open-ended options on how to proceed further.
