We wanted and purchased a GAS stove, but had no hookup for one and thus required a gas-fitter to extend a connection line from our basement to our kitchen. Gene, of Castle, came to our home, ran the gas line (and made it look good, both topside in the kitchen as well as in the basement, and was 'in & out' not leaving any trace of him ever even being here, except that we're now 'cooking with gas' :) . If you know anything about dogs, you know that they know when someone is 'OK' - and Gene passed our 2-year old Belgian Shepherd's 'sniff' test and there were no issues with him being in our home. He also made doubly sure that all of the connections were gas-tight and that they passed his equipment's sniff test. Great job, and we would use Castle again if ever we have a need for their services. UPDATE: Just today we just had a very old, and long, section of cast iron drain pipe in our basement replaced with ABS by Jim and Zach. Seeing the new pipe is both more aesthetically pleasing, vs. the old and nasty looking cast iron, but is also reassuring that we have eliminated any potential issues of failure due to further deterioration of the old pipe. Doing so also makes our insurance company happier to - if that's possible. Castle is a 5-star contractor - no question!

During the first heat wave of the season I discovered that my air-conditioner was not putting out any cold air. So I called Castle heating and it would be well over a week before they could come out to check out the problem. The technician, when he did show up, was courteous, knowledgeable, efficient and pleasant to talk to. I was told my problem is fixable but expensive and I decided to look for a new unit instead. I asked for a quote and I was told that their sales rep would get in touch with me. In the meantime I called 4 other service dealers for quotes, made appointments and got quotes from all of them within 2 days of me contacting them. I couldn't wait for Castle Heating anymore so I signed with one of their competitors and got a new unit installed a week later. As for Castle Heating, I'm still waiting to hear back from them. Terrible customer service and I doubt I'll ever be calling them again considering there are others out there who care enough to respond to your needs within a reasonable period of time.

We experienced a major issue with out water system late evening last night. Our pressure tank sprung a leak. We have a young family and needed water. Lianne and Jim were extremely helpful speaking with us after hours and arranging for us to get supplies the next day on their days off. Lianne setup all the arrangements and Jim was extremely helpful ensuring we had the right parts and didn’t buy anything we didn’t really need. We cannot express how helpful they were . Just before Christmas our main drain backed up. Castle techs came the next day, 'scoped the pipe right out to where it connects to the city sewer, showed me the tree roots blocking everything up, then went about clearing it all out and restoring full flow. Then. earlier this week Jim and Zach replaced a very old, and long, section of cast iron drain pipe with new ABS. Seeing the new pipe is both more aesthetically pleasing, vs. the old and nasty looking cast iron, but is also reassuring in that we have eliminated any potential issues of failure due to deterioration of the old pipe. We purchased a water softener and purification system and electric water heater in December 2020 for our home. Calvin and helper installed everything in a single day. They did an amazing job: organized and built the entire system, replumbed and replaced water lines and rearranged our existing pump/pressure tank lines with the new fixtures so everything appears neat and tidy! I have changed my heating system from a 75 gallon HWT that supplies both in-floor heating and domestic water - a colossal error for anyone who understands plumbing and in 2001, I knew nothing about plumbing! I would turn down the temperature on the tank during the summer to save energy costs and take a cold shower. I priced a new boiler with several companies and watched the market over a number of years for the advances in technology before moving forward last year, in October of 2017. Castle provided the best pre-sale information and explanation of the equipment. This was followed up with their expert installation. I rent a Veissman boiler through another company at my rental property and was contented with how it was energy efficient in a 1912 home with cast iron rads. Castle sold me on the NTI boiler with a 40 gallon indirect HWT. The system set up looks like the cardiopulmonary circulation! A much better set-up than what another company installed at my rental property. There are circulating pumps and valves to isolate every segment should it need to be shut off for servicing or repair. Its a very intelligent set-up that demonstrates a thorough understanding of plumbing code and foresight into future problems. My in-floor heating works as it should but the difference now is that I have HOT water immediately all through the year. No more cold showers unless I really want one. I have realized energy efficiency over the past year with a boiler that keeps water at an even temperature instead of heating a 75 gallon tank several times a day. The operation is quiet and I'm not awakened by a loud blower during the night. The exhaust system is closed and there is no heat loss associated with a blower outlet that was open over the top of the tank; I could feel the wind drawing air out even when not in operation. The installation proceeded without incident and the crew cleaned up their mess. All post installation questions were answered efficiently, with courtesy and promptly. It's been a year since this installation and I am still contented. I have been a return customer for other plumbing needs at both my residence and rental property and have never been dissatisfied. At Castle, they set the standard.

Usually have excellent service. Today my mom called regarding sump pump not working. Worker didn't listen and insisted it was a frozen pipe, my mom and brother both explained that it was probably the pump. worker ended up cutting drywall to check pipe after my mom explained to him the water didn't drain that way. Long story short we ended up needing a new pump after all. Had he just listened wouldn't have to now fix the wall. Other than today have always had great service.

We were billed almost $300 for less than 20 minutes of work. It was after hours so understandably we were charged time and a half but we were informed after the fact that the company calculates travel time from downtown Sudbury to Coniston as 45 minutes per trip therefore we were billed for a total of 2 hours. Anyone who lives in Sudbury knows that it most certainly does not take 45 minutes to travel to Coniston from Edna St unless of course you're riding a bike ;)
