Had a $15,000 renovation completed by Homeworx Nov-Jan last year. Laminate floor was not laid properly throughout the home and the some laminate locks were cracked right from day 1 of install causing boards to sink considerably in many places.
We asked Homeworx to repair/replace those boards at that time in January. (Simple enough right?) At first we were told it was due to our floor being uneven, yet we were never told this during install. We then had the flooring provider come by to check the flooring itself for fault and they said it was installed improperly in a number of places including being screwed to the floor at the stair nose. (A big no no for laminate.) So finally Homeworx agreed to fix it. New laminate was even ordered, but weeks and months went by with no further action or communication.
Now here it is a whole year later. We sold our home this past summer & asked to have this repair completed for closing. Nothing was resolved and we took the hit on our house pricing because of it.
I had to reach out each and every time to check on the status of this replacement with no communication at all occurring from Homeworx otherwise. And in the end no repair was ever supplied. Each time blame was given to the flooring provider they use regularly. The flooring provider would site lack of clear communication from Homeworx and around and round we went.
Very unprofessional for a company that offers a 2 year warranty on their work. I guess if your only one of their smaller jobs, once they are paid, they can just avoid the customer for long enough that they don’t have to deal with it. Would never recommend.
