The staff are great here. Very helpful and polite! They can give you quotes on many of your projects on the spot or if timenis needed because it needs to be designed they are willing to share the design and show you how they ended up with the quote. Always eager to answer my questions as well!

My partner Matt and I recently purchased a garage package (rafters, plywood, fasteners, and tin siding) from J&H and we are not impressed with the service. They appear to be experts, but couldn’t order any of our tin until we gave them exact measurements so we built the building, provided exact measurements and were still shorted trim. When we went and asked for the extra piece of trim, we were told we had to pay for it because we should’ve read our quote. As people who do a fair bit of building, we assumed a company who builds RTMs could provide us with what we needed based on the measurements we provided them. They also shorted us Tyvek. And when we arrived to pick things up we had to load up our own trailer as no one seemed interested in helping out. I recommend driving the extra distance and getting your supplies from Warman Home Centre or Zak’s Home Hardware in Hague.

Not a good service was not happy with the construction they did for me. Accused me of losing materials when they left them outside in front of my house. If you can do not work with them.

This place is one of the closest things you'll get to shopping in a small town hardware store. There's even a small green space and pond right across the street for your significant other to entertain the children's while you shop.

Went there to buy some edging and they had it out on display where it is kept, so I took 3 peices up to the till where I was told they couldn't sell it to me because they were saving it for someone else. I understand this sort of thing happens, but then put it away so other people can't walk up and get what they need only to be told it can't be sold to you. That is poor customer service. Price was better then other places I found for this product.

We bought windows and installation through J&H. After installation we noticed that 10/11 windows were damaged on the inside casing. 9 Months later, after 3 inspections (including the manufacturers), we are still waiting for a resolution. After sale service and communication have been lacking. Edit: After the initial review, I was assisted with an expedited satisfactory resolution to the problems.

Best customer service experience I’ve had in a long time by far! I called to see if they could recommend someone to fix a built in window blind that had come off its track. That same day Garrett (from J&H) came out to have a look. He said he thought it just needed a replacement slider, a couple days later he was back, with the part and fixed it within 10 mins. He was courteous and so helpful, fixing it without me even having to call to have it serviced! We will recommend J&H to everyone we can and will be doing business with them in the future!

very disappointed in the professionalism of the company. they miss quotes my project and kept losing the materials that were supposed to be used on my house. I was not happy at all with the customer service, as the person I was working with SHELDON, never got back to me on any of the work i wanted done. I had to constantly contact them to find out any information and I am just happy that work is finally completed so that i never have to work with them again.

Well this is disappointing. This morning I came in to pay for a quotation and to get delivery figured out for a project. We have been waiting on this for 3 weeks, we finally received the quote and decided to proceed. We are unable to make payment over the phone and were told we needed to come into the city. So made my way there, I waited for over 15 minutes with workers (some busy, others on their phones/computers), no one said 'Hi' or 'we will be right with you'. I even walked the store to see if there was someone else to assist me. I don't have all day to spend at J&H... The minute i turn around to walk out the gentlemen behind me got helped immediately. I called as soon as i got to the vehicle. NOW, let me tell you. The lady I got on the phone she was not pleasant, and should probably take a course in customer service. Instead of listening to me and my experience, she wrote me off with the "I can see them and they're all with customers", "If you were in you would see they're all busy with customers" The rudest tone of voice, very condescending. I wish I grabbed her name. Regardless of me being ignored by workers, the experience I had with the lady on the phone is why I am writing this. Your customers are everything to a business. Should YOU be having a bad day you shouldn't take it out on your clientele. When someone call to let you know how their experience went it shouldn't be an argument, you shouldn't cut them off while their talking and you should be more apologetic. - You weren't there, you don't get to tell me how my experience was or wasn't. I called to let you know the service I received. "Im sorry for your time, what time works best for you to return so I can ensure someone will be available. I understand you're coming from out of town and cant just come in to town to pay for an order". - That is an appropriate answer.

The heart of J&H is its team members, and no matter who you talk to, the staff are always looking to ensure your needs are met. They have knowledgeable staff who can provide specific services and offer advice for your home renovation needs. J&H always provides competitive pricing compared to the other big players, yet they give you that personal touch that's always welcomed. Delivery service is prompt and undertaken with care to ensure that products are not damaged upon arrival. I have nothing but excellent experiences with J&H. I live on the south side of the city, but I am more than happy to drive to the north end to give them my business.

We have AllWeather Windows in our house and they use a rather unique clip to hold in the retaining bar. Two of these clips have broken over time and I tried looking all over the city for them at several big box suppliers that are reps for this brand of windows. After my second attempt at my second store I was about to give up in getting any, the sales staff at both stores didn't know what I was talking about and in fact were rather "next to useless". The manufacturer itself was no help either, they are locked up due to Covid and don't even answer their phones. I decided to try one last place before giving up at J&H Builders Warehouse. I was pleasantly surprised and wished I had gone here in the first place. The sales rep knew exactly what I was talking about, had them in stock and in fact gave me two for free to use for my repair. This is definitively what customer service is and kudos to the store and the staff for their service.

We decided to replace our long rickety fence last summer and to go to a fence specialist for this specific job. After a bad experience with one company in the city that specializes in fences (which never delivered a quote, didn't return calls, etc.), we contacted J&H about a fence quote. What a breath of fresh air. This was at the end of summer, and J&H was able to complete a quote asap, design a huge fence (about 200 feet horizontal build), and cue up one of their installers to do the work, all before the snow began to fly. It was a major project, and they delivered. Their team of staff are very friendly and professional, they took care of all details, and made the process easy.

Recently our family had the misfortune of experiencing a kitchen fire. The majority of our main floor was dramatically impacted. We chose to work with J and H Homes on the rebuild and I am so glad we did. Their team of professionals went above and beyond with all stages of the project including (planning, scheduling, construction mgmt etc). My family is now back in our home and daily we all experience several "pinch me moments" thanks to J and H Homes we have a home that we are so proud of and we have turned a very dark moment into a time of happiness!

As we celebrate our one year anniversary living in our lovely new home, that J&H built for us, I would like to reflect on our experience. From the initial meeting with the salesman, Jon, we knew we were in good hands as he was keen to provide us with friendly courteous service and ensured our questions were answered in a timely manner. Amy and Ashley, who assisted with the drawings, were always prompt with making adjustments and changes to the house plans, when it was requested of them. Their kind and friendly disposition came through when dealing with us. We were also fortunate to have the construction manager Clay on our team from the beginning of this project. His knowledge and expertise in the construction industry was very helpful. Once the preliminary steps of the build were completed, interior finishes chosen with the assistance of Brooklyn, the crew were ready to start. As this was the first house we have ever built, we felt very fortunate to have (who we consider) the most valuable member of the J&H team working with us for the remainder of our project...Claude. Words can’t say enough about the incredible value he brought to this project. He was always only a call or text away to answer any questions or concerns that came up. His attention to detail and construction experience was extremely useful to us when he was able to foresee an area of our house plan that needed to be addressed and changed. I really held back in writing this review because I was hoping for a better outcome but a year later our issues with J&H remain unresolved. During fall 2020 we had decided we wanted to install new windows in the basement of our 1970’s bi-level house. The salesman seemed helpful, I explained our situation and he was eager to assist us with our window replacements. Because of covid we did not have an employee from J&H come to our house, and were advised that if we provided appropriate measurements that they could manufacture the windows for us. We submitted what the salesperson asked for and we received a blue-prints of our windows. I understood very little of the blue-prints as I am a nurse and have 0 knowledge of window construction (my husband a welder so not much help either) but they looked like windows, the measurements were accurate, and I trusted J&H’s knowledge and expertise in this area to deliver what I had asked for. 6 weeks later our windows were completely unusable for our instal they had something called a ‘nail fin’ on them which is only for new build construction. After much complaining to managers and poor poor salesmanship on the part of the J&H employee we were advised we could ‘re sell the windows on kijiji’ or they would discount our new windows we had to reorder $300 dollars, not even the price of an entire window. Now a year later we have new windows (that did come damaged but at this point we were beyond over dealing with J&H) and a set of windows - that we paid full price for and they agreed to help us resell at very reduced price - just sitting in their warehouse somewhere. I WILL NEVER USE J&H again! Cost us thousands in a mistake with some care, guidance, and expertise on their part could have been completely avoided. We plan on building a house in the next year or so here and they lost out on a ton of business.
