I phoned on a Thursday and had a brand new roof by Tuesday. Jeff, Justin and the rest of the crew were excellent. They answered all the questions I had and we were grateful for their quick response and expertise. Our original shingles were poorly installed by the builder and even though they were only nine years old they were getting peeled off by the wind exposing bare wood. Now we have a properly installed roof with a weatherproof membrane underneath. Thank you Wilderness Roofing for giving us peace of mind! No we are ready for whatever Mother Nature throws at us. Jeff was in the area doing some other roofs and noticed mine needed done, he was nice enough to come over and quote the job and get to know who I was. Even though I know many people in the roofing industry and could have easily gotten other quotes I knew that he was giving me a great price as I had gotten pricing on the supplies earlier in the year in hopes to take on the job myself. Jeff was able to build a good rapport with me and within one week of approving the quote Jeff had his guys on my house and completed the job professionally and on time with no surprises. The roof looks really good and I am pleased with the outcome. Thanks to Wilderness and their hard working team for putting the customer first and being proactive. And thanks for the great price.. At the rate he gave me there was no reason for me to try and do it myself it just didn't make sense.

I had a horrible experience with this company. When Jeff comes to do a quote, he pressures you into giving a $2000 deposit on the spot. He tries to upsell you and he overcharges for any extra work you add on. The workers left all of the materials spread out in the yard and their tool belts on the roof for an entire long weekend. They did zero clean up after and I was picking up nails for months. I should have trusted my gut when I met Jeff.

All we can say is WOW, thanks for the awesome roofing job. We had hail damage and needed the roof and eaves replaced. The adjuster come over and gave us the price for replacement and we were told to go ahead if we could replace it for the price estimated. We had a couple of companies come over and they were quite a bit higher. Jeff from Wilderness came over and his quote came in at what the adjuster said so we decided to go ahead. We were skeptical because he wanted us to pay him directly and then we could wait for payment from SGI; we were concerned that he had our money and the roofing job would take forever. Our fears were short lived!! Other companies were so busy they couldn't come for about 6 week but Jeff and the guys from Wilderness were completely done in less than half the time. (We needed it done before Sept. because we have family coming in for a wedding.) We saw the Wilderness signs all over the neighborhood on people's lawns and now we know why. We highly recommend Jeff and the team from Wilderness; they did the job promptly, they kept us informed about the work to be done and when it was going to be completed, they did everything they said they would, and they kept the work space and yard very clean. Best of all the new roof has changed the look of the house completely. Thanks again Jeff for a great job.

I have a tiny and steep roof, a couple of contractors had declined the job of re-shingling it. That was when I got a flyer in the mail for Wilderness. The meeting for the estimate was quick and professional. The price was good and I called at what seemed to be the perfect time as the work started the following week and it was exactly on time. Materials were dropped off in a neat pile and my roof was completed in a day. The yard was left clean and everything was hauled away. I am happy with the work done and would recommend them to others.

This summer we checked the insulation in our attic and found it had settled and required a top up. We called Jeff at Wilderness Roofing who provided a quote that was very exceptionable and the work could be done within a couple of days. The crew arrived as scheduled and competed the job far above satisfaction. This is the second time we have used Wilderness Roofing and we have been satisfied both times with their work and professionalism.

These guys are "doing " a roof in my town, been on site 2 days and still not done, simple roof. Mess everywhere, if that's how you stack new shingles....think you need stronger/ smarter employees. I don't do roofing at all and know better than these "workers" glad I went with another company Yikes!!!!!!

We just had our eavestroughs and downspouts replaced. We have been very impressed from the first time we spoke to the company. Initially, I thought I would start getting some quotes to have the work done. I did some searches for companies and checked out reviews. I found the reviews for Wilderness Roofing and Eavestroughs and filled out the contact information and pressed submit. I literally received a call back in less than 2 minutes. I spoke to Jeff and he asked for additional information and said he would call me back in a few minutes. Jeff called me back as promised and provided me with a fair quote and said they could do the work on the following Monday, it was Friday when we spoke. We finalized details and on Monday morning 2 guys showed up and promptly introduced themselves to me, Daniel and George. They came to confirm the colour and they said they would return later in the morning once they had the materials. I had to leave before they came back and when I returned they had already started and had actually completed the removal of the old eavestroughs and had done their measurements and were just rolling the new ones off the machine. I was extremely impressed with their work ethic but also how much they enjoyed their work and the pride they had in doing a good job. When they were complete and cleaned up the scraps of materials, they rang the doorbell and told me they were done and thanked me. It’s good to know there are contractors out there who take pride in their work, are professional and personable. I highly recommend Jeff and his team.

If your gut tells you to hold off with using Jeff, listen to it. I regret using Wilderness roofing. Its been a headache since Jeff entered our porch and wouldn't leave until we agreed to use him. So, I hired Wilderness roofing to reshingle an 1100ft2 house with attached garage. The shingles were on the roof within a week. That's where they acquire 1 star. They shingled one side Friday and left the ridge cap and the remainder of the roof open untarped for the weekend. After 3 days they finished my roof. My yard was a mess. My deck and patio furniture were covered in shingle rocks and my wife and I picked up over 100 shingle nails off our property. Concerned with the yard mess, I climbed up on the roof to inspect and another mess. The quality I saw is what I would expect from an untrained, unsupervised group of 12 yr old boys. At least a dozen nails through the shingles were totally visible. Laps were 2-3" apart in many rows with seams crooked, large gaps, totally messed up shingles that should've been thrown out, nope there they were nailed to my roof. Vent seams and shingle seams were right in line with each other. So, I called them back. They came back and said all fixed. So I went on the roof. Truth is, they fixed maybe 1/10 of what was wrong. So I called them back, the deficiency manager Justin was coming this time. I told him to coordinate with me so I could be there and that he was not to come without my permission. He showed up anyway against my request and called me left a voicemail saying that I now had a perfect roof, it's awesome and all fixed, how proud of it he was. I left out that by this point Jeff had called twice wanting his money and I said not until I'm satisfied with the completed job. So after Justin left I hired Shane from Go2Guys to come and professionally inspect my roof. He sent me about a dozen deficiencies and some code infractions. I called Jeff back and this time Jeff and Justin came. Only Justin came on the roof, Jeff stood on my grass with his clip board. Justin told me everything was going to be perfect, no problem he'd come back monday and fix everything up himself. Justin left. Jeff begged for money. He asked for half in good faith. I sent him half that night and haven't seen a one of them since. Justin never did come back and fix the deficincies. If you want a headache, call Wilderness. If you don't, call Shane at Go2Guys. That's my ecperience.

Terrible service. Zero after hours response. Neighbours has these guys doing their roof. They didn’t ask to use my yard - I just had a bunch of landscaping, sprinklers and seeding done - yet half a dozen guys are using my lawn for setup and tear down and stomping all over the work I paid for. No response when I asked them to stay off my lawn. Blew debris onto my lawn when cleaning up. Went over with a magnet a found nails in my lawn. Glad I found them before my kids feet did. I’m so glad I didn’t hire these guys to do my roof. Please do yourself and your neighbours a favour and chose someone else!!!

Fast service and excellent work. Jeff quoted right away and charged exactly what he said he would. I had all the evestroughs on my home (with a cottage style roof- so all the way around) plus downspouts in 3.5 hours start to finish. Daniel and Royce were fast, professional and friendly. They never stopped working from the moment they arrived. The guys seemed to genuinely like their jobs and worked well together. They built seamless 5” evestroughs right on site, hauled away the old stuff, and cleaned up beautifully after. I would recommend. The evestroughs look fantastic!

Not a fan of surprises, especially when it comes to my roof. I had Jeff come to my house to give me a quote on fixing my roof. The main issue I had was frosting in the attic space. He did not climb inside the attic or even do a walk around from the ground. Gave us a quote of $9800, got his crew to work and halfway through, work stopped and he said I was going to need to pay another $7600 to make my roof "right". The long story short, I gave Wilderness $2000 to "bandaid" my roof back together then spent the next two weeks picking up hundreds of roofing nails from my property and the neighboring yards, one with small kids and one with dogs. In summary, I have a nice roof that was diminished with horrible sales tactics and the worst clean up in the history of roofing PLUS, the attic was still frosting. Turned out, all I had to do was seal the attic hatch!! I gave a second star because of the amazing service I got from one of Wilderness' subs for the insulation sprayed in the attic.

Wilderness understood our unique requirements (church with steep roof in need of immediate shingling replacement). Workers were fast and considerate of the facilities needs (for example adjusting their schedule due to a concert within the building), and receptive to pointers from facility maintenance personnel who were keenly familiar with the building. I live next door to a house these guys just shingled. I understand it's sometimes inevitable to get some shingle or nail spill over into the neighbors driveway (I did my own house last year) but at least be professional and clean it up. I picked up around 40 nails from my driveway and a bunch of old broken shingles. I'm not getting paid by you guys yet I'm doing your job. Cleaning up your mess is part of the job.

Jeff made a great impression when he came for the initial quote. However the crew he sent initially was unimpressive. Only working 2 hours the first day and 4 hours the second. And did not even show the third. This was where Jeff and Justin really started to shine. When I called them and told them what was going on they had a new crew out in literally 20 minutes. These guys did an amazing job doing everything that was left(over half the roof) in less than a day. They never made me feel like I was hastling them with the updates on the first crew. Any company can seem good if everything is going well. Not every company can recover from a bad situation. I would hire Wilderness roofing again or recommend them without question. 5 stars is not enough stars.

Wilderness Roofing has shingled and sided our house and our garage. They also replaced the soffits and facia that was improperly installed by someone else for the previous owners. They blew insulation into the attic and the difference in the utility bill because of the added insulation and properly installed soffits registered in the utility bill right away. Jeff is awesome to deal with. He responds to your call right away. He will work with you to come to a deal the same day and the work starts within days. His crews are professional, hard-working men who are a pleasure to be around. The shingling crew did a great job of both roofs. Daniel, Antonio and the MEX crew were awesome with their attention to detail and their professionalism. From time to time someone would sing a few bars. You just don’t see people who are that happy to be at work anymore. That says a LOT about the company. Our house and garage look awesome and my wife and I couldn’t be happier. We had our roof redone just over a year ago by someone else and had nothing but problems since. A few weeks back when the weather warmed up it started leaking inside my house in over 15 places. I called Jeff and he was out to inspect it in less than 24 hrs. He did a full roof and attic inspection and was able to tell us where the problem areas were. Do not hire Wilderness Roofing! Got quoted for my house to be shingled, Jeff promised it would be done in one day saying it was a very simple roof. Felt extremely pressured to make our decision on the quote in a few minutes. We asked that our old chimney be closed in, add 2 additional roof vents and also a days notice before coming so I could arrange my dogs not to be around. He wrote it all down and had us sign the quote. Day 1 : Got a call the following Monday to say they have started on the roof, did not receive a days notice. They agreed to stop and come back tomorrow. Day:2 I took the day off work the next day and no one shows up. I called Jeff at noon to complain and he swore they were still going to make it there. However they did not. Day:3 The next day they came and stripped the roof but did not put any new shingles on. The roof was not properly waterproofed and rain was expected over night. When I called Jeff he said someone would come out immediately and make sure it was water tight. No one showed up again. Day:4 my roof was finally shingled by day 4 however there was major issues. The chimney was not closed in, they didn’t clean up the ground leaving hundreds of nails to be pick up by hand, only 1 vent was added to the roof which was not cut in but smashed in through the plywood with perhaps a hammer. Talked to Jeff about these issues and it wasn’t for about a week until they returned. Day:5 the chimney was removed and the vent that was not installed properly was fixed. However they didn’t add the 4th vent. When called to talk to Jeff yet again he said they would be out the next day to address the issue. However another week goes by until someone shows up. Day:6 finally the 4th vent was added and the job was complete. With yet again a mess left behind by the crew. Our one day roof took Wilderness roofing 4 weeks to be completed over 6 different days and multiple multiple phone calls. What a joke.

The owner won’t provide a quote, asks for your insurance claim and says he’ll do the job for that price. He requires payment up front and then doesn’t do all the work. Ignores your calls after he’s received payment. Have to phone and email multiple times to get him to resolve issues or even provide a receipt! His receipt shows no taxes, yet the insurance claim had taxes. It’s been two and a half weeks and he has not provided a refund for the work not completed. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and he has 30 days to respond. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

DO NOT USE, we paid a deposit July 10 2020, then when the job was completed (amazing install team) I paid the remaining balance on the same day of install, Aug 13 2020, OR SO WE THOUGHT was the remaining balance, when the MasterCard statement arrived I noticed that the whole balance of just over $8000 was taken, so basically we need the deposit of $3500 back A LOT OF MONEY, I contacted Jeff and he filled me with reassurance that a cheque would be sent which we still haven’t recd 4 weeks later, (today is SEPT 30th) and now he is not replying to emails or phone calls.

Supposed to be lifetime shingles. 3 years after installation we had 3 shingles blow off the south side of our roof. Jeff told me at that time he couldn’t warranty the plough winds but offered to fix it for a fee of coarse. Had them repaired by another individual. 3 years after that shingle came off the north side of the roof. This time it was evident where the problem was - the shingle had only 4 nail holes in it - all right at the top of the shingle. Took pictures and sent them to Jeff - he reluctantly agreed It was not right. I called him 6 times last summer/fall to fix this shoddy workmanship. All 6 times he strung me along , playing stupid as to it not getting fixed. This companies warranty lasts until they have your money. Go back to B.C. and take your shoddy workmanship with you!

I will never recommend this company to anyone. The owner will come in and offer you a 'tonight only' kind of deal. Unfortunately, we fell for it. Then when it was time to pay the contracted price, he upped it by over $1,100 because of 'custom work' that we did not approve. After talking to other people about this company, I heard that he has done the "tonight only" deal more than once. The work his crew did was good, not 100%, but good. They did a good job cleaning up. Do not use this company.

*Saskatoon, Silverspring Area-April 2019* Had I read the reviews here, would not have considered Wilderness. That would have been unfortunate because our experience was entirely POSITIVE. Would have been the full 5 stars except for the price of extra plywood. We expected some rot but the price per sheet is HIGH, when we know what they are at Windsor ????‍♀️. The day I called, Jeff showed up(same day) exactly on time. Gave written quote and said shingles would be here soon and they’d start work.the next week. Jeff returned my call right away when I had a question. The day the shingles arrived, a young man came to the door and introduced himself and asked if we had any questions or concerns. Asked us to move our vehicles and asked about pets. They were quick and we barely noticed them. Jeff (the owner) called to ensure the shingles were here and said roof would be done next week. I think it was the next morning, might have been two days, doorbell rang at 8 am. A polite young fella ready to do the roof. ????????. Again asked if we had questions, went over how long it would take(a day more or less, part of 2 days), what to expect for noise etc. We warned him about our escape artist kitty. Watched them setting up(just being snoopy out the window ????), was surprised and impressed at how professional they were. Lining up all the harnesses, did some stretches to warm up, then they all got set up, helped each other and secured everything, working together. I could faintly hear them when I was in the ensuite and thought they must all like their jobs, there was no grumbling or cussing about their employer. Swearing doesn’t offend me, but many homes have littles. Can honestly say I didn’t hear any of the guys swear once. I wasn’t listening for it, just happened to notice. They let us know when they knocked off for the day and did not leave a mess. They arrived early(8am) the next day and we chatted a bit with one worker who was early. Very nice kid, appreciated that he was positive and enthusiastic about his job and employer. They finished in good time, let us know and cleaned up best they could. I honestly haven’t looked too closely but my husband said it all looks good. Was an insurance hail claim from 2 years ago but we took a payout(a bunch of things went off the rails with our claim. Gong show!) . The company that was supposed to do the work never showed up(no I won’t name them) and Wilderness made it simple. The other company still hasn’t shown up(or drove off seeing it done). I absolutely recommend Wilderness, my husband and I were both in and out while the work was done. The workers were all very courteous and hard working. Jeff came by a couple times to check. Worth noting-when you pay him with a cheque, it goes through your bank account almost as fast as an EMT. Same day. Hoping our experience with eavestrouging is as positive. They stuck to the quote except for the extra sheets of wood($159/sheet). I fully expected some rot. Original roof, I’ve owned since new in ‘97). Highly recommend. Contact me with questions. On Sunday my living room ceiling started to leak. I was in a panic. A friend recommended I call Wilderness. 2 hours later they added insulation to my attic and on monday prepped the roof and replaced the shingles. All done by tuesday afternoon. Amazing. Requested a quote for eavestroughs and 2 days later our house and garage were finished. Never hire this company. Period. Family member asked these so called pros to repair roof and reshingle. They said they could do the job so family member hired them. Turns out they dont know anything about construction practices and created a huge structural problem to the point that the trusses were about to collapse on the inside of the garage. We had to hire an actual professional to come and fix the initial problem and the problem created by wilderness's lack of knowledge. They could of admitted their lack of skill and gotten help but decided to proceed anyway. Lucky for them they didn't have to deal with me.
