Following this a part (breakdown) was damaged, after many attempts to reach them I had to wait a week to finally be told that they simply do not hold the part. So I had to try to contact them several times again and then they sent a technician to the scene who simply removed the damaged part. Anyway, one bit and one less option on my air conditioning later (not counting the many calls and the hassle), I just wouldn't have called their service initially to have known. Not recommended. Suite à celui-ci une pièce (panne) a été endommagée, après de nombreuses tentatives pour les rejoindre j'ai dû attendre une semaine pour finalement me faire dire qu'ils ne tiennent tout simplement pas la pièce. J'ai donc dû tenter de les recontacter plusieurs fois de nouveau puis ils ont envoyé un technicien sur les lieux qui a simplement retirer la pièce endommagée. Bref, un morceau et une option en moins sur mon air climatisé plus tard (sans compter les nombreuses appels et le tracas), je n'aurais tout simplement pas fait appel à leur service initialement avoir su. Peu recommandé.

Called them to fix my AC and they said it was impossible to repair, advertised a new system instead and charged me $178 for basically a sales pitch. Eventually, I found a couple of free lancers that saw that a capacitor was fried, they replaced it and now it runs fine. Clarification: The job was to repair the old system, not to put it to shame. A leak and a burnt capacitor do not justify spending $9,000 on a new system and tearing down my walls. There wasn't any intent to repair it.

In the intense Montreal Heat and Humidity June 18 2020 my AC was not working. 34 degrees celcius in the Condo. Call for a technician to come and see what the problem was after I asked politely that I work at night and need to sleep in AC conditions . They quickly sent a technician the next day . Sadly my compressor failed after 10 years and now I needed a new unit. Saturday morning the 20th of June I went and see the rep at the store very nice and the unit was ordered. I had to wait till Monday to speak to the service and installation manager knowing that it was not going to be installed due to delays. Monday came spoke with the receptionist very nice and the service manager and was able to get an appointment the following week , i said not to bad. Withen the hour the service manager calls back saying that the unit that i ordered is not compatable with my piping and wiring and that he had another unit to suggest to me , I had no choice and to my surprise he said that they can install it in the afternoon. That Monday afternoon in the intense heat the installers came and finished withen 2 hours leaving my place in the same condition they found it. We usually hear of bad reviews and horror stories when it comes to customer service. But to my surprise and my neighbors my AC broke and withen a few days I had a new unit installed . Amazing service from everyone from Excel starting from the receptionist, representative , service manager and the installers. Great Job I highly recommend this Company . Bravo !

David, the sales rep, was very helpful and patient in answering all of my questions and concerns for both installations, but especially for the furnace as I was converting from oil to electric. Mathieu, Larry, Louis, Dave, and the rest of the installation and electrician team arrived on time, took care to protect my carpet and floors and worked diligently to complete the job in one day. Air exchanger had a tear in the duct began leaking moisture and it took many weeks for them to come look at it after which they charged $100 to say there was nothing wrong and made no plans to fix the broken duct despite our repeatedly calling them to ask what further action needed to be taken. We also have a warranty on the system that they refused to honor AC also broke from an electrical problem which they said could be fixed by a part replacement, but they just came once again after many weeks just to say the new part wouldn't fix the problem and charged us another $200. Please DO NOT use this company. Beware. They will tell you to replace your machine when you don't need to, they just want your money. After looking at my compressor for 2 minutes, the repair man named Mario Dupuis told me I need to buy a new wall air conditionner because my unit had no gas left in it. This 2 minute visit cost me 178$. I decided to get a second opinion from a different company. The repair man from the other company told me there WAS gas in my machine. He added a product that would fix any leaks if there were any & then added gas to my machine. It works fine now. I spent 450$ instead of 5000$ on a new machine, which would have required breaking the wall where my machine is located in order to replace it. This is because Excel, who installed it 8 years ago, cut corners and put all the wiring in the walls. I believe I was lied to in order to get me to buy a new machine with them. When I called to demand a reimbursement of the 178$, they said no because their repair man is correct. He told me I had NO OTHER OPTION. Meanwhile, I have a functional ac unit right now. It may only last a few more years, but it was still an option. On top of all this, I had left a message with the sales department to get a quote on a new machine before I decided to get a second opinion and weeks went by without anyone returning my call (They never did). If I could give 0 stars, I would. Save yourself the trouble and find another company. I have made an official complaint with the Office de Protection du Consommateur. I'm not sure if they only do this to young women who don't know anything about ac units, or if they do this to everyone. I suggest you do some research first to learn a bit about how these machines work and also that you ask lots of questions when a repair man comes to inspect your unit.
