My water heater started leaking so I called Sterling. Josh was there pronto on a Saturday morning to replace it! He was transparent about any incurred costs and also took the time to show me how to do maintenance on my new unit as well as on my furnace, air exchanger, and air conditioner. He even magically got my water softener to start working again! My water heater began to leak after 5 years. I called the original installer who said I had warranty but it would be $800+ dollars to replace and over $1000 if I wanted it done sooner than 3 weeks. I thought this was a bit obscene for a warranty repair so i went on the web and looked for other installers that could cover the warranty. I settled on Sterling after they quoted me a flat rate of $600 AND said they could come out that same day! I was working so opted for an appointment a few days later. Talk about quick service. The 2 men that showed up were quick and courteous. Highly recommend.

For appointments, you receive text with a visual tracker for when a technician is on the way – so they are very punctual. Payment is all contactless, anther bonus. I'll definitely continue to use them for all plumbing, heating, and cooling maintenance/repair.

The mechanical systems in the home are quite complicated and technical. We needed someone to inspect same in order to provide us with an assessment of its current state of operation. Eugene ( the Sterling staff person) was prompt, knowledgeable with the systems, and articulate with the “walk through”. We were, and are, very pleased with the experience we had with him. On another note, Sterling is very good about communicating appointment confirmation (the day before) and timely arrival times via an app where we could watch the service vehicle enroute to the home. I was/am sufficiently satisfied with the experience that I will definitely call them again and have already recommended them to someone else.

If they say you need a new furnace read this first. I had a problem with a Carrier furnace that Sterling installed. The tech told me that my secondary heat exchanger needed to be replaced and that the part would be about 1300. He suggested that I replace the furnace. The sales man said the same thing. I looked up the part on the internet and turns out that Carrier had a problem with the part and offered an extended warranty on parts and labour. I called Sterling back and told them that the part was under warranty. Then the tech told me that the labour would be $1300 and would take approximately 7 or 8 hours. I called Carrier directly and was told that they would cover labour if it was done by Sterling. I called Sterling back again and told them that the labour was covered as well through the warranty. Sterling looked up the furnace and finally agreed that it was covered under warranty. So, the long story is that i spent the better part of the day on the phone trying to not get ripped off. If I didn't look up the parts myself they would have charged me 2600 for parts and labour for work that is 100% covered under warranty. Also they quoted me 7 hours for labour. It took them four. They could have charged me for the work then submitted the warranty to Carrier and got paid from them too. I'm not sure who is running the show over there but they are either very ignorant about their industry or frauds.

Eugene Khrypushyn came out to cap our plumbing so we could remove a bunch of cabinets and investigate a leak. Through some quick observations, Eugene discovered the problem likely stemmed from improper sealing of the tap in our shower and helped us avoid costly and inconvenient repairs from cabinet removal and replacement. Eugene also gave great advice about how to replace our cheap/low quality toilets and clearing the drain in our sinks. Have always appreciated Sterling Plumbing & Hearing for it’s reliable service and never has that been more true than the frat help Eugene was the other day.

Decided to use their services after seeing great reviews here on google. I must admit that the repair work was done in a professional manner but after looking at the invoice i would like to warn you that their charges are very unreasonable, they charge double for labor. I was charged $222.00 for a small part that you could buy for under $40 at a retail store . On top of that i was charged $96 for what they call diagnosis charge (which is supposed to be waived when you let them do the repair) so $352.98 in total with taxes. I emailed them to explain the invoice to me but no reply, got a call next morning and the rep wasn't able to give a satisfactory explanation to the charges in the invoice. Told me that the manager would give me a call, two days later i am still waiting, no call from manager yet. Looks like all the people giving great reviews here just don't care about their hard earned money and doesn't even check if they have been charged fairly. VERY DISAPPOINTED! EDIT - Soon after posting this review i received a call from Jeff, we had a chat for almost 15 mins., He was very polite and patient during our conversation. He accepted that there was a wrong charge on the invoice and he offered me a refund. I am glad to know that they take care of their customers and take full responsibility of their actions. Mistakes happen but what matters the most are the actions you take to fix them. Will gladly recommend them to others. A happy customer.

The Sterling staff were very considerate in scheduling a time frame that accommodated my needs. Their communications were excellent. The needed repair was very timely even with the challenge of supplier ‘s poor tracking of part needed. Their service also identified a couple of other issues with equipment in our utility area that will be followed up with them in the fall. They apologized for the mistake, someone forgot to book a tech. for this job. But said they would have one here very quickly. He arrived within the hour. Was very courteous, quick and conscientious. He also answered some questions I had about the furnace.

Found out that my York furnace is now hard to find parts in Regina but that did not hinder Sterling and found the exact original blower motor. It failed last week and got a rescue motor installed and yesterday, another tech, Eugene, installed the replacement motor and in no time, my furnace is back into great working condition. Also he explained to me why my furnace was tripping and gave recommendations on what's best to keep my furnace in great working condition. Great job Sterling Service Team!

Since then we had a couple of services due to wear and tear and they were very good to work with. We had our furnace replaced by Sterling Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning this week. Sterling technician Grant Hawman and associate Matt made the experience a great one. From the time we requested a quote to the day of install when we received an email, complete with a photo informing us as to who the technician would be doing the install through completing the transaction on their tablet and the follow up email later that day, the Sterling team was very thorough. Grant and Matt's attention to detail in their work reflects their professionalism and they delivered a great install. The finishing work on the sheet metal and venting piping to make it look as esthetic as possible is appreciated and considerably nicer than the original install it replaced was. The work completed on the exterior (intake / exhaust / chimney sleeve) is top notch and looks better than most retro fit installs I have seen. when the install was completed Grant and Matt took the time to explain the system to us, what to expect as well as the differences between our old 1986 dinosaur and the new York unit. They also provided insight as to best practices including filter type and replacement timing, maintenance timing and things we can check during the winter (like checking for icicle build-up on the exhaust vent outside periodically) Grant and Matt used carpet runners in the entry area and down to the furnace area to keep things clean. Post install, the work space was spotless as well. Dallas the Opps Manager told us at time of quote that his team was the best. He was right. Our experience with Sterling was excellent and we believe it to be great value for our money spent. Highly recommended.

Grant the installer really listens to the client. I told him what I wanted and he came up with the proper solution that the client requests. Grant did not know how familiar I am with these systems but he still went above and beyond to do everything correctly. He came up with a better solution that I suggested. Dallas was my initial contact. He knew what was needed. He quoted an accurate and comprehensive price and they stuck to that quote. In summary, they also came back on the weekend to finish the job because they had to delay the work during the week day for some reason. They stick with you and make sure the job is complete as soon as possible.

Discovered that the shut-off valve on our water heater had been leaking and it destroyed the internals of the water heater. Sterling was able to show up only three hours after I called, ahead of schedule, and got it swapped out for a new rental in short order. They also were competitive with pricing and offered me an excellent deal to go with their service. I will call them first if we ever have an issue with our other HVAC stuff. The work and clean up seems fine. The final bill was somewhat of a shocker. I received an quote for my furnace install, dryer vent moved and humidifier install. The bill was 500 more than quoted because of a eco bee thermostat which I assumed was in the furnace install. I did say I wanted it but it was not covered off on the quote. I guess that was my fault, but I do believe that should of been in the quote.

Editing for my service for June 29, 2021 since Google will not allow me to leave a second review! We had water leaking out of the bottom of our furnace, turns out our condensate pump was plugged with wood chips (we are a newer build). We had booked a time between 10-12. Eugene showed up about half an hour early which was awesome! He took the time to educate me by showing me the areas that were affected and luckily it was a quick fix with minor cost to us. Eugene was very personable and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain what was going on and check to make sure that the issue had been resolved after completing the work. As always, amazing service! Thanks very much, Eugene! We woke up this morning (-47 with the wind) to find our home had dropped to 11 degrees. Called sterling right away and they were able to fit us into their already packed schedule. Jason came out, found that somehow ice had blown into our vent and froze over the pilot. Strange situation but was able to get it fixed quickly. What I love about Sterling is that the techs are professional AND educational. They explain what happens, how to prevent it and how to try fixing yourself in a pinch. Not only did Jason give us tips on how to possibly fix if this rare situation happens again but also helped us to troubleshoot some issues we were experiencing in our 2nd floor distributing heat. A+++ service!

I reviewed ratings online while selecting businesses to receive a quote from on getting our furnace replaced. Upon seeing the 250+ reviews and nearly 5 star rating, I knew I had to at least give them the opportunity. First impressions tell you a lot. I filled out the online form for an estimate. I was called that same morning and asked when I would like someone to come by. I asked what their availability was and was told, “we will work around your schedule.” I asked if someone could come at 3pm that same day. They said someone would be there at that time. After I got off the call, I received an email and text confirming my appointment. About 20 minutes before my appointment at 3pm, I received another email confirming my appointment and including a picture of the person (Dallas) that was coming to my house. Dallas arrived on time, was extremely professional and personable. He answered all of my questions completely and in detail. When he was leaving he advised that he would provide me with some options for furnaces based on what we had discussed and the availability of stock. He advised I would have the quote within an hour of our visit; to my surprise and delight, I did receive the quote within an hour with 3 options listed. I texted Dallas early the next week after I had received the rest quotes from other local companies. He called me back on my request in the text and after asking some additional questions I decided to book the install. After my call with Dallas I received an email confirming my appointment for Friday of the same week. On Thursday, I received another email confirming my appointment and a text which I replied to to confirm the appointment on Friday. The text I received back indicated that my appointment was confirmed for Friday between 8am and 12pm. At 740am on Friday I received an email indicating that my installer (Grant) was on his way. The email included a picture of Grant as well as a brief bio. Grant showed up on time with Dennen, his assistant. Both Grant and Dennen were very professional. They put down mats where they would be walking. They arrived at 8am and had everything mostly wrapped up by noon. To meet code, they had to replace the furnace outlet piping, but I asked Grant to also take a look at the inlet piping as it gets blocked up with snow every winter. He worked with Dennen to fix it and when they were done Grant showed me pictures on his tablet of the work that they had done. He provided me with all of the documentation for the new thermostat and made sure that all of my questions about the install were answered before they left at noon. Now I have a10 year parts and labor warranty and they take care of registering everything. This is what great service looks like!! I will be recommending Sterling to everyone I know. Amazing experience!!

Dallas the sales manager was outstanding and the Sterling Plumbing Team that installed our furnace performed a stunning job. We had a service technician from Sterling Plumbing by the name of Jason Bennett who followed up with us on our Nest thermostat issue we were having. Jason did an exemplary job in rectifying the issue and explained the problem to my wife Jennifer as I was away. In addition, Jason took the time to order another specialized template for us. Mitchell Dulle (Mitch) who was one of the original technicians that installed our furnace came back to install the specialized template we had ordered. Mitch and Drew also were over at our neighbor's place across the street last week installing a new furnace which I was overseeing. What an amazing job these two technicians provided, especially if you seen the area they had to work in, to install the piping. I had been without heat unknowingly til it was the end of September and cool. Turned the furnace on, nothing. I contacted another company and was expecting them on Friday at 11:00 am. At 10:57 they called and said they couldn’t make it. Friday noon of a long weekend I am scrambling. Contacted Sterling and even the ladies that answer phones and set up service were friendly and efficient. I was told they would be there between 3 and 5. I received an email with a picture of the person coming which is great in this day and age. I then received a text saying Eugene was on the way. I appreciate a company that is professional when they provide a service and as I dont write many reviews this company deserves one. Thursday morning my furnace wasn't working so I checked the breaker and furnace switch to make sure the power was on and it was. So I called Sterling's office explained the situation and they booked me in for first thing Friday at 800 a.m. At 8:00 am sharp the technician Eugine was at my door and within 30 minutes he diagnosed what was wrong and showed the part that wasn't working grabbed his iPad and searched to find the cost for the part that needed to be replaced. After I gave my okay he proceeded to order it and went to go and pick it up and was back in 30 minutes. After he replaced it the furnace worked like it always has and he gave me some friendly advice about maintenance in which I appreciated. The bill didn't shock me because I already new what the parts were gonna cost me and the labour rate was affordable. I will use this company again for all my needs in the future.

Technician was on time and friendly. He performed all services EXCEPT the blower motor/fan. On other inspections we've had on previous furnaces of this model and type, the blower motor fan was taken apart and the fins were cleaned. This was not done by Sterling. Sterling also did not bring a replacement furnace filter. We were not advised that we had to provide our own replacement filter, luckily we had one. Other companies we've used previously have always brought a replacement filter.
