My experience began back in July with CAF. I was looking to have the fence at the very rear of my yard finished, 96 ft worth and a gate replaced. Initially I requested a quote from them and only them based on the reviews here. So I used the online tool to request a quote and was contacted very quickly. An employee was out right away to meet and check out the job and take measurements. At that time, I was advised that I was most likely looking at the end of August for my fence as they had many projects on the go. That wasn't an issue for us as we were comfortable waiting for quality. I mailed my deposit the day we signed the contract and began to wait patiently. I received an email at the end of August to advise that my dates were pushed into September. Then in the first week of September they were moved once more. On September 11 I received an email to advise that they were very sorry and I was absolutely locked in for the week of the 21st, with a promise of no more date moves (they would live up to that promise). Monday the 21st my wife leaves a message with their office asking which day we could expect them, no response. Tuesday the 22nd, she does the same, with same results. Wednesday I send emails reminding that we entered into a contract and I had already paid my deposit. Nothing. Thursday, I send my last emails to multiple addresses and am ghosted still. Finally on Friday my wife calls the Calgary office and is in turn put in touch with new manager in Red Deer who she has call me. I get a big long list of bs about how the office was a real gong show and the owner had to fire a bunch of people, then we moved on to the price of wood going up 15 to 20%, again that is a market issue, not mine, maybe buy the wood back in July when I gave you the deposit. From there it was the quality of wood they were getting was garbage too. The manger then stated that I wasn't their only customer in this situation but that their was 7 to 10 others in the same boat waiting on wood projects. So he then starts floating the idea of refunding my deposit and naming other fencing companies that may be able to help. This is the last week of September and I need a fence before the snow flies as I tore down the temp fence to make a dog run while the permanent was being built. At first I wasn't willing to let them off the hook until my wife contacted RAM Fencing who said he would do it for us the very next week. Monday I got my deposit back, met with the contractor, by Tuesday I had posts and by Wednesday a fence. I wish RAM was registered for Google reviews so they could pull more work from this unprofessional outfit. We have since sent 2 other families to RAM for their needs. As for CAF, I know these are hectic times, my workload has increased exponentially, but to not communicate with your customer is the worst approach you could take. Just be forward, apologetic, and work together to find a solution. Hiding from a problem is something I teach my kids not to do. October 9/2020. The owner reached out to me last week and did apologize sincerely. We had a good chat and I know that he regrets this situation. I do wish this company the best, and hope they fix the issues they are working on. We all have to eat!

We had our vinyl fence completed by the crew at Central Alberta Fencing. The experience was great and we had no complaints. The job had to be completed in a couple of stages to allow us to complete our landscaping and not interfere with new construction on the neighboring property. We had a great experience with CAF! We contacted them earlier in the summer regarding taking out our old wood fence and installing white vinyl fencing. They were prompt with our estimate and stayed true to dates for install. It's been about a week since install and we are quite happy! They were very efficient with the take down and install. We had some issues with the gate as it ended up being the wrong size and they promptly rebuilt a new gate with the right dimensions within a couple days. We are very happy with the result and would definitely use again and recommend! Thanks CAF!

Great job on my fence on Atlee Close. It is the second time I've used them. They did my shared fence with my neighbour a few years ago and just completed (August 2020) my back fence. The installers were very helpful as my retaining wall created some problems for them. They communicated throughout the install to ensure I was happy with the progress and quality. I would hire them again without hesitation.

After moving to Red Deer 3 years ago and having to build a fence, we received quotes from various fence companies. Ray with Central Alberta Fencing gave us a favorable quote and we liked his product and presentation. We were interested in saving some money by doing a portion ourselves and he was open to giving us 2 price options, fully installed by CAF as well as a quote for CAF doing the posts and gates and homeowner doing rest of which we choose. The friendly crew with CAF installed the posts with a very smooth grade, gave us great instructions on installing their product and they came back to finish off the project by installing the gates. They continue to support us if needed. I highly recommend Central Alberta Fencing for their excellent service and product.

After my husband paid a deposit with this company in July, we waited for the expected date at the end of August. We got pushed back, finally leaving it with a promise for the third week in September. In preparation for their arrival, we removed our temporary fencing leaving us with no fence. The Monday came and we heard nothing so I called and left a message. Having heard nothing back I left a second message the following day. No reply. Wednesday my husband emailed again with no response. On Friday I was successful in reaching someone by going through the Calgary branch, not Red Deer. I was told they were getting several similar calls and asked them to contact my husband. That resulted in them saying they would just give our deposit back. Leaving us with 3 large dogs, months of waiting, and no fence. To say our experience was poor would be an understatement. I contacted RAM fencing late in the day Friday and had a beautiful fence by Wednesday.

Must be making too much money. These guys came out to take measurements of our proposed fence project to get us a quote. 3 weeks later, and we have yet to receive any numbers. I even talked to the guy on the phone once to clarify expectations. So I figure, they must be making too much money to want our business.

Requested a quote to get some decorative fence installed. The estimator called that morning to say he would be 20 minutes late. The estimate itself went well enough after he arrived, however it's been a month and a half and I still haven't received a quote. My followup email to them after three weeks had passed went unanswered. Edit: After leaving this review I was contacted by the owner of the company who blamed the previous issues on a single bad hire. He offered my a discounted fence, though couldn't offer the style I wanted. He indicated he would enquire with their supplied as to whether they could get the style I wanted. I never heard back from him. Dropping my review to 1 star.

Raymond McCarthy was very responsive to my request to do a measurement and provide a quote to replace a wooden fence with vinyl (between my neighbour's and my properties) when I contacted him in the summer. His estimate was lower than one other estimate I received. (Another company said it was too small a job to be worth their while). His crew came out in early October as promised and the fence was completed within two days, just before Thanksgiving. The invoices sent to both me and my neighbour were fair and accurate. The fencing crew was able to accommodate us by installing a white gate for our neighbour and an almond gate for us, as per our wishes. I would highly recommend CAF.
