I was very satisfied with the work done in the past by Laser Electric, by its former owner Rob Ferrier. Unfortunately, the company now appears to have no inkling of what it means to provide good service to its customers. I hired them to do the electrical wiring for a new bathroom addition that was constructed at my summer cottage. Rob did all the rough electrical work as well as the finished work for the hot water heaters. That job was done well, and it took him 5 hours to complete it. I was told that it would take about 1/2 day to complete the final wiring. I had an appointment for the afternoon. Instead of Rob coming when he had been scheduled, the new owner Damon sent 2 electricians (when only 1 was required) and they arrived in the morning when I was not at home. Since other contractors were working, they let themselves in and started the work. They installed 6 recessed ceiling lights, 2 outlets, and 1 wall switch. I also asked them to clearly mark the changes on the electrical panel, since it was not clear which breakers were linked to the new electrical fixtures. You can imagine my shock when I received a bill for 9 hours to do this work. Theoretically, 2 guys working together should complete the job in half the time, but that clearly didn't happen here. In addition, I noticed after they left that they had installed cream color outlets and wall switch -- in a bathroom with a color scheme of pure white and dark brown. The cream color looks horrible. I contacted Damon and he promised to send Rob out to switch it - which he never did. Damon's voice mailbox is usually full so I have difficulty reaching him to leave a message. I have also emailed him. I have received no response to my phone messages or emails. I believe that when you make a promise, you should follow through. Unfortunately, Laser Electric does not appear to have the same philosophy. One final frustration was with the invoicing - they did not invoice me until 2 months after the work was completed, which also made it more difficult to discuss the hours. The invoice date was too late for me to claim for business purposes, so I called and asked them to change the date to at least a couple of weeks sooner. Again, Damon promised me that he would have someone do that, and then he made me wait and wait. I kept calling and emailing to follow up, but heard nothing from them. I finally received the updated invoice one day after my filing deadline, when it was too late. I am now searching for a new electrician to work on additional areas of my house and to fix the ugly bathroom outlets installed at a very high cost by Laser Electric. I will not use them again - there have to be better electricians out there who are more responsive to their customers.
