We had work done at our business by Terry Olfert and workers. We found they were not punctual in scheduling the work efforts, and Terry did not return calls or contact us when requested. The work was okay although we had to have them back to re-do some things that were incorrect and were charged for that work. Hugely overcharged, and when we asked for an accounting of the work we were met with a very confrontational attitude from him, although his office staff were excellent to deal with. Very unprofessional and would NOT recommend this company.

Had RPR install a brand new HVAC system at my one property. Just one year later the coolant leaked out. After a $500 repair I was left with no explanation as to why a brand new system leaked in the first place. RPR installed a brand new furnace at another property and it has had pilot light issues since. Over multiple years, and hundreds of dollars, the pilot light still won't stay lit, and the owner Terry Olfert refuses to take the time to contact me directly and help me trouble shoot the problem. Their work looks professional but they are not able to diagnose, prevent, or trouble shoot problems like a professional.

So far, we've been really happy with RPR. Our unit stopped working during the heat wave and they responded as quickly as they could. We've ordered a new unit and are waiting for the install, but we're confident the work will be done well. Our experience with technicians, receptionist, and the owner have all been very positive. UPDATE: Our new furnace and air conditioner were installed and they are great! The installers were courteous, efficient, and did a great job with the install. Very happy with the product, quality, and service.

They were absolutely amazing! Called on a Friday and had an appointment the next Tuesday (Monday was a holiday). They showed up on time and got straight to work, they had one of the problems identified right away. Super friendly and gave us a honest opinion of what needed to be done. He took the time to explain to us what he was doing and why he was doing it. I’ll start out by giving RPR praise where due, in terms of what they did well: - The product (heat pump) is good quality - The installation crew was helpful and efficient - The service team has been responsive My issue with RPR was with the business owner and the conduct they had towards me. During a routine call to alert them that the electrician had finished and asked to send back the install crew, I was shocked by the telephone call I had with the owners. I had a direct, but neutral tone on the call, just asking if the message could be relayed so the job could be finished that day (which was 35 degrees+ and the job was supposed to have been finished the previous day). There was obviously some miscommunication between the wife and husband team that owns the business, because I was called back immediately by the husband Terry after this call I had with his wife, and was sworn at and yelled at by Terry - called a “B****” and was brought to tears by the conversation. I followed up about the exchange asking for a genuine apology regarding the horrible and undeserving treatment I received, and was met with a reply giving more excuses about health issues and context for the level of stress that RPR was under due to being busy with many clients. I did want to handle the matter privately, but wasn't satisfied with that reply given the serious nature of the incident. This is a first for me, I’ve never experienced that kind of treatment as a customer, and I hope to never again. I wasn’t expecting to be in tears over having AC installed at my house and paying a lot of money to do so.

RPR installed an HRV (heat recovery ventilation system) in our home. We are pleased with the service from beginning to end. It was refreshing to work with a contractor who listened to us and seriously considered our ideas. The work scheduling was as prompt as can be expected, given that the particular HRV we wanted had to be ordered in. We are impressed by their technician. He arrived promptly, was personable, and is clearly skilled. Of particular note was his care and attention to minimally disrupting our home for what might have been a difficult and messy retrofit. We were surprised that he could accomplish the installation in only about a day's work, much less than the time we had thought might be needed, especially considering that he installed an in-wall kitchen duct within that time. Looking at the wall, you can't tell that he did anything, and we didn't have to do any drywall or painting, as we thought we might have. We would not hesitate to recommend RPR.

During the current heat wave that we're experiencing here in the Okanagan, our air conditioning failed one evening. When I called RPR the next morning, to request a service call, knowing full well that I'd be put on a waiting list, after I had explained what the issue was, I was pleasantly surprised to be told that an AC technician would be available to drop around within 4 hours. The person who had answered the phone had a good knowledge of the equipment and reckoned that it was only a 10 minute job to fix it. Sure enough, when the techician dropped that morning, he had the unit working after a small part replacement (a small frog had shorted out two terminals on a capacitor - pretty wild, eh?) and our house was cooling off almost immediately. While he was at our home, he did a quick service check of the unit and the refrigerant - I was impressed with his knowledge and had high regard for his experience in the HVAC business. A very good experience and recommend RPR to anyone who asks me for a reference. Thanks

Update: I just got off the phone from RPR. I was frustrated in explaining the issues we have continually had with the unit they installed. The technician told me to phone someone else! I have called another company to come in and assess. Conclusion: RPR does not live up to their quotes and warranties. Last technician was most helpful - although we are still having cold showers. RPR has installed either the wrong Bosch hot water on demand unit or is incompetent at fixing them. They've been putting us off since 2007.

Great start on day 1 (Monday - March 22)) then day 2 the electricians came in and disconnected all our base boards leaving us with no heat? The install we were told would be finished by Friday. Friday came and went with no call to advise what was happening or why no technicians were coming to the house? We were left with no heat again until Monday. then the project was completed Tuesday (March 30). Our biggest concern was no communication from the company as to where our project was at and when it would be completed? A call would have lowered our dissatisfaction and brought us insight to what was happening! Saying nothing is the worst thing that RPR could have done. After everything was completed on Tuesday (March 30) (9 days later) we had heat and A/c but couldn't connect the system to our cell phone. After installing and removing the app several times and finally getting a technician to come to the house we learned we were using the wrong app? So perhaps that is something RPR can provide in their handouts to the customer to make the process more seamless? So simple and easy to communicate. Overall our experience was positive in terms of getting the job done but the lack of communication certainly has some room for improvement

We just had our older Electric dual hot water tanks replaced with a Gas Rinaii Tankless water heater. Terry was our first contact with RPR when he came to our home and looked at our existing scenario and presented the alternative of putting in a GAS tankless system. He was very friendly, easy going and confident as he explained in detail to my wife and I what work would be necessary in order to make the switch from electric to gas. After he left my wife and I were both 'comfortable' with making the big decision to make the switch from Electric to Gas water heating. We gave our approval to proceed and within 2 days the friendly and wonderfully humoured RPR installation team (Vic, Mark, Matt) arrived to do the installation. They each had their specific tasks and worked independently from each other, but at the same time worked perfectly together to do the installation in one day. This involved not only setting up the Rinaii unit, electrical rewiring and plumbing (Vic), but also having to do the new gas venting through the house out through the roof (Matt), and the gas fitting (Mark). These 3 guys worked comfortably together and made it seem like a 'non-event' to us. The bottom line to this review is that based on our experience with multiple team members from RPR Heating, we highly recommend this company. … Kim & Ken Oszinski

Our A/C was running, but no cold air. I call in the morning and they answered right away with a cheerful and professional voice. Booked me in that day, but warned me about a potential delay and also gave me a time slot the next day. Said they'd call me by a certain time if the couldn't come for the first time slot. They did not call and I got a text message when the tech was coming (right on time). Turns out all the coolant leaked out. Still a bit of a mystery how and when, but the putting the system under pressure and a vacuum both held up fine. Filled with coolant and it's running well.

The hot surface igniter failed on our 24 year old Bryant gas furnace. I called around to find a replacement and was led to RPR by a wholesaler in Kelowna. They were able to locate part in Vancouver and get it to me within a few days. I had hoped to find locally, however, we were able to heat our house with electric heaters while waiting for part to arrive. It was a little pricey at $160 (I found it on eBay for $45 from Toronto), however, worth the extra $ to get it quickly.

I called RPR Heating & Air during the June heatwave as my air conditioner had failed ! They were inundated with calls during this time however Terry personally answered my message and came out to diagnose my situation long after business hours. He arranged to have Trevor come out a couple of days later and fix the air-conditioning so that it was operational temporarily . Trevor was very prompt polite and professional. When the ordered equipment came in they sent me a message to let me know the exact date and time they would be there and they were there exactly at that time and that date. Mark and Tony came to do the installations and were polite professional and knowledgable employees. This company was a pleasure to work with. I would recommend RPR to anyone!!

I would highly recommend RPR Heating. We conferred to gas from electric in our home. They replaced our furnace, a Rannai tankless water system and some very extensive duct work. Overall we had a positive experience with rpr in having our new furnace installed- the technicians were on time, courteous and respected that we wanted covid protocols followed. A couple things have impacted our review- a carpet in our basement was significantly damaged during the installation and we were not informed that it happened and we will now need to replace/repair the carpet. There were also issues with the thermostat and starting our a/c- the offered solution was to install the lower model of thermostat vs fix the wiring issue. My husband fixed the wiring issue himself quite quickly and rpr returned to change the thermostat upon our request. Fixing the wiring issue was made to seem much more complicated by the technicians than it ended up being and we would have preferred that it be done initially.

Want to make $ 6510.00 in 30 seconds? Invest in customer service and return a phone call! We had a rep come out and talk to us about heat pumps, very interested and actually received the quote later the same day. Called Wednesday, Friday and Tuesday of the following week, left messages with receptionist for Rep to call us back each time. After another 13 days with no calls I sent an email saying we have gone with another company and review will not be favorable. Guess what? We got a call! The owner was absolutely more concerned about the review than the customer service. Better to know this before they had our money!

Previous services for cleaning of mini split heat pump was around 150-180 for 1 and 1/2 hour time with other companies. This time I called RPR as last place didn’t have ability to come... basic clean where I expected unit cover to come off. Instead only cleaned filters... said didn’t have time to take off cover and do blower wheel as well... so had to book second time. Now the staff were good to knock 15 mins of billing off that as this was not normal... but what isn’t talked about is the extra costs for cleaner solution and nitrogen ahead of time with first visit... extra 30 each... so my bill was 275.00 ... compared to previous clean that was under 200 with competitors. Also bits of black stuff from using pressure on blower was all over my dining table and chairs and buffet.. so I cleaned that myself. While staff were pleasant and came quickly the cost was high....

RPR was wonderful! Getting a company to travel to do work in a small town can be a challenge. Mitch answered our questions and had Shaun out to do measurements in just a few days.
