From the moment we contacted Stonehenge they have been right on top of it. Stonehenge was in constant contact updating expected start times for the job and any change was communicated early on. Dan and his crew were top notch! The kept the site safe and cleean throughout and when they left you wouldn't have known they were here, except that we no longer had brick issues :) We had a number of crumbling bricks due to water damage as well as a hole where an old gas fireplace chimney was. The new bricks match great and as the grout dried you could not tell where the previous issues were. The job came in under the extimated quote which was a nice surprise. While Dan was here I asked him to look at something I hadn't noticed previous to getting the original job quoted. I am sure glad he did because we found some big damage due to a slow leak at the roofline and a 3ft/8ft section of brick that was not going to stay up much longer. Dan was able to give me an estimate and schedule in the work to replace that section as well as the water damaged sheeting and insulation underneath. Thanks Dan and your team for the great work on our house!

I want to share my experience with Stonehenge Masonry and their capable, empathetic staff. Last fall during the stormiest rainfall of the year, and while we were having our main floors redone, my front room sprung a horrible leak, and water was coming through the walls. The driving rain was literally going to put my floor rennovation in peril. I first called a roofer, who arrived and inspected, only to tell me the problem was not the roof but the masonry around my window in the front room. Try to find a masonry company to come out in the pelting rain on short notice ...impossible!!!! I must have called 5 or 6 outfits. To no avail. Then I called Stonehenge Masonry and spoke with the office manager Norm Bloom. While he was doubtful he could get a crew out in the near term, he would see what he could do. Meanwhile, my front room was about to implode and the floors would be ruined. Within minutes I received a call from the crew manager, Dan Bloom, who listened to my tales of woe. He was very attentive, asked very detailed questions, and assessed my issues right there on the phone. He hung up with assurances that he would get back to me. (Famous last words, I thought). Then Norm called back moments later and announced that Dan was sending a crew over in the morning to assess the damage and do the repair work. In fact, they were taking 2 guys away from a bigger job to address my emergency. Morning comes, the rain dissipates, and my front room is on the brink of water damage if no one fixes the masonry TODAY. Behold the arrival of Jeff and his one man crew. In the freezing cold they set up their scaffolding and get to work. Within 4 or 5 hours, the entire brick work around my window is refurbished, and crisis averted. Jeff was very knowledgeable, explained how the damage occurred , what fixes he need to make and even gave me a quick lesson in Motar application. He was affable and professional with a clever sense of humor, plus he was a dead ringer for Ryan Gossling...so all round great guy to come help you when you are in a panic. End of story, these guys came out in the worst weather, completed a difficult job, and put my emergency as a priority. They were very kind to do that, and I have never before had such customer service as with this company. In the Spring they are coming to inspect the rest of my brickwork, in order to ensure that we are secure for the future. Thank you Stonehenge and Bravo!!!

These guys get 10 stars out of 5. Their work is above and beyond. I have employed Stonehenge twice for work at my place. The first time was to fix a chimney as well as mortar work on the front and side of my home. This time was mortar work and the back plus parging. The first time I hired Stonehenge, i couldn’t afford the pointing to be done all at one time. The company has been really accommodating, creating more than one estimate to ensure they did the most necessary work for a price I could afford. As well, the negotiation process is entirely open and well communicated, so that not only did I understand what work was priority, but I understood why it was priority. As a home owner and not a stone mason, I really appreciate the imparted knowledge. Dan (owner of business) completed the estimate and he sent a superb crew to complete the work. There was a slight delay in start time due to weather impacting other jobs which was communicated to me in good time. They came when they said, which is always a bonus. Matt (crew lead and master stone mason), Jeff and Dave are very pleasant young men who take pride in their job. I really liked their personalities, and they work to the highest standards. The colour matching of the pointing on my 1930’s house was bang on. Plus the clean up job was superb. Regarding the parging, they taped off a line so the top line of the parging is absolutely straight. The tape was removed and the parging beveled to the wall to ensure any water would run off properly. I compare that to parging across the street that seems to follow a random path along the top, lacking the bevel. Even I as a nonprofessional can tell that Stonehenge did the superlative job. I highly recommend this company for your brickwork or parging needs.

Stonehenge Masonry recently completed brick repointing on the front of our house. They did a wonderful job and came in under the estimate! We also had Dan Bloom assess a leak issue on our balcony. Dan was awesome! He is professional and very personable. He reviewed the issue in detail, recommended a fix (which was completed by the next week) AND found another issue with our dryer vent which was a fire hazard. We wouldn't hesitate to use Stonehenge Masonry again and highly recommend their services!

The chimney on our new house was starting to crumble and lean significantly (at risk of falling), which led us to contacting Stonehenge. They contacted us back promptly, and were very accommodating in doing a site visit quickly due to the emergency state of the chimney. We opted to have the chimney dismantled and capped just above the roofline. The capped chimney looks very nice, and we’re satisfied with the work that was done. My only complaint is that the only payment methods they accept are check (who has a check book in this day in age!?) and interact etransfer - which seemed very bizarre, and actually initially made me worried that the company wasn’t real / it was a scam. Because of limits on etransfers, I had to send them multiple transfers over the course of 6 days, which was very annoying. If you need to pay with credit card, you’ll need to find another company.

We recently had our chimney taken down and rebuilt, in addition to work on the side of the chimney bump out that had broken and missing bricks. Stonehenge right from start to finish were very impressive. The estimator knew what he was talking about, as our house is made from real brick, not just brick veneer like newer homes. Masonry experts are becoming rare, but the crew that performed our work were highly skilled masons. We were so impressed by their professionalism, skill and attitude and the clean up afterward, that we highly recommend Stonehenge. Finally, Kirshca was exceptional to deal with, any questions we had were answered swiftly and she always made sure the lines of communication were open regarding scheduling etc. As a service supervisor in the past that dealt with 100's of trades in the Ottawa area, I can tell you that this family owned company is one of the best I have ever dealt with.

These guys are the best. Second time we’ve hired Stonehenge. The first was for removal of about 700 bricks and running a steel beam for a small extension in 2018, and they did an incredible job. And the second job they just finished, which was repointing, repairing meaningful step cracks in the brickwork, and putting in a stone ‘skirt’ over top of a foundation repair (performed by another contractor) - and it looks awesome. Staff are professional, experts, honest, kind, hardworking and tidy. Would absolutely recommend Stonehenge and will be reaching out for future jobs.

In today's world, it is very difficult to find people in the building trade that are dependable and do excellent work. Dan was so helpful, he told me what was wrong, made very smart observations and was very knowledgeable. You can tell he loves his job and is very good at it. Being new to Ottawa I hired a "mason" from the community newspaper to do some brick work on a newly purchased house. The individual removed the bricks and after 5 weeks with a hole in my chimney and many promises, I reached out to Stonehenge Masonry for help. Communication was great from the start and their schedule flexibility accommodated the delays caused by permits and other uncontrollable aspects of my project. Dan took the time to swing by in person in order to set out the expectations for the project. I had 3 window openings re-pointed and roughed in for new casements which turned out great. In early March, I had a pretty large water leak in my main floor ceiling. Crumbling brick on my 2nd story allowed water to get into the 1st floor roof cavity. Did a quick search on Google and Stonehenge came well recommended. Gave them a call and set up an appointment. Due to the urgency of my problem, they sent out contractor (Jeff) right away to do a quick fix. Jeff arrived on time, set to work and did a great job. Came in well under the estimate too - yay. Success story - friendly service, on time, knowledgeable, cost conscious, no more leaks! These guys also came out in the off-season to get me fixed.
