For~ Ottawa Renovation & Construction Corp. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!!! We hired Ottawa Renovation & Construction Corp. to do a front entry, side garage entry and powder room renovation. We wanted everything done: New tile in 4 areas, trim, new closet door, painting, bathroom fixtures, etc...top to bottom, everything changed. At first we were concerned with booking someone to work in our home during the current Covid-19 lock down. However, we called Ottawa Renovation & Construction to come give us a quote. To begin with, our call was returned promptly and a meeting to discuss our project quickly followed. During our meeting, all Covid precautions were in place, and we immediately felt at ease booking Ottawa Renovation & Construction Corp. to move forward with our renovation. Fast forward, our front project is nearly complete. Everything looks amazing so far and the work has far surpassed my expectations. Our renovation has been handled with care by the guys, with attention to detail and professionalism. Aurelio is always ready to answer my questions and often offers suggestions about how to make things even more pristine. Our project timeline has stayed nicely paced and on budget. Things have run seamlessly and the entire renovation has been hassle free. Even added details such as leaving the work areas cleaned up & tidy each night. They really do consider every detail and go above & beyond. We’ve been so impressed, that we have actually already booked Ottawa Renovation & Construction Corp. to move forward with two more home projects. The first being some additions and work on our existing deck. The second is a complete kitchen renovation/family room refresh. I have a “very specific” design in mind and Aurelio has completely catered to this with our planning, even offering added suggestions about how we can get the most out of our renovation design, but still stay within our budget. If you are considering a renovation project, big or small, and are searching for a professional and meticulous construction team, I recommend with 100% certainty, Ottawa Renovation & Construction Corp. I recently had Ottawa Renovations and Construction complete a bathroom en-suite and main bathroom renovation. Due to Covid-19, the supplier whom I purchased the bathroom products were unable to deliver. Aurelio picked up two vanities, bathtub and toilet in his truck and delivered them to me. Any concerns raised during the renovations were dealt with promptly. Aurelio and his team did a great job and I would recommend this company. I am very pleased with the finished product. The bathrooms look amazing.

I shopped around for about 6 months before I decided to use Ottawa Renovation Construction Corp for our kitchen renovation and the flooring of my 2200 sq foot house. After meeting with Aurel and receiving his very detailed and fair quote, I was confident that he was my guy for this job. He was responsive and attentive through this entire process. Aurel and his install crew were equally wonderful and they worked so hard to make my home beautiful! Things I noticed: The crew was always on time...to the minute! They kept a tidy workspace and when they left at the end of the day everything was clean. I will definitely use Ottawa Renovation Construction Corp again for future projects. I hired this company to complete mudding, taping and sanding (ready for paint) in my basement. I started the job but was unable to continue due to an injury. It was not a large job. I was originally quoted $650. When the owner saw the job, he indicated that the job would cost $750, as there was more work there than anticipated. Fair enough, right? He indicated that the job would take about 4 days, with the lion's share of the work being performed on the first day, and the remaining sanding to be done over the three following days. The second day, the owner indicates that the job will now cost $1000, as he would have to return on the fourth day. This was confusing, as he indicated on the first day that the job would take 4 days. I accepted, just to get the job done, as we had company coming. On the fourth day, he returns to do the final finishing after the spaces had been primed. He indicated, again, that his work that day would cost an additional $200, as he claimed that this was not factored into his quote, even though it clearly was. Not only did I find these increasing costs unprofessional, but his attitude that he did such excellent work was misplaced. His final work was sloppy, even though he claimed to have been doing drywall work for 25 years. I refused to have him back in my home, and hired someone else - a real professional - to clean up his mess. When I refused to allow him back into the house to repair his mess, I was berated. I would not hire this company to cut my grass. The owner preferred payment in cash (likely to avoid claiming the job as revenue to CRA) but was originally going to charge me HST. He later 'waived' the HST when I complained about the cost, even though he clearly had no intention of reporting the income for tax purposes, and acted as if he was doing me a huge favour. Unprofessional in every way. Hire someone else. Anybody else. Update: I see that the business owner has responded to my complaint with a completely inaccurate defense. I will leave it to past and future customers to respond to the shoddy work that he performs. It is certain that he has pulled this constant disregard for his quote on many other customers, but they did not have the desire or courage to post a negative review. Given his complete lack of ownership of his unprofessional conduct and work, I will be reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau. Update #2: I went online to file a complaint with the BBB, but I see that another customer has beat me to it, and for the same reasons. This company has a pattern of aggressive billing practices and manipulation of the customer in order to squeeze as much money out of them as possible, in complete disregard for their original quote. This company cannot be trusted. Hire someone else.

Do not hire this contractor. He was hired in February 2021, started the projected, completed approximately half the work, and then he avoided answering me in 3 months. Since posting this review, he has contacted me to pay another $4000 to have the job completed (now he says $3500 on the reply...) This is after 3 months of not answering and leaving an incomplete job, with bad finishes. We have paid in full to date and he currently owes me thousands of dollars in refunds, despite him choosing not to complete the work. During the project that he continually asked for more money or he would stop working. And he forced us to put 5-star reviews up before he continues. We ablidged with no other option, and have since had thousands taken. We were forced ourselves to hire another worker, take time of work and complete the job; all the trim, cabinets, countertops, door frame, doors, flooring, and more were not complete. Additionally, see attached photos of their 'cleaning' taking after multiple days - or lack there of. They treated the home like a dumpster leaving every material all over the place, including cigarette butts all over the laneway.

This year we had Ottawa Home Renovations Inc come to our home to help us design and start the architectural planning for our long over due bathroom addition to the upper level of our home. Process with the city didn’t take as long as we thought. With such great people to work with during the whole project and great service from the owner through out the whole job. Overall it took about 2 weeks to get our city building permits and engineered architectural plans. All in all it took them about 60 days to build the complete structure. We have to say we are so pleased in their knowledge and effort on this project as they had to bring our plumbing up 3 levels from our basement. Re-routing our plumbing was the biggest task for our renovation which held us back about 2 years, prolonging the project to choose the right contractor to build this for our little family of 4 ????. Amazing work, job well done guys! Our family is enjoying the master ensuite bathroom every morning now, we’re all so happy! We will call you back for more of our future renovation plans.

Buyer beware!! *See all photos attached* Was hired in Feb/March 2021 to complete a basement renovation. Completed just over 50% of the work (at a very poor quality) and then did not show up past the half way point of the project, and has not gotten in touch with us since April. Almost 3 weeks into the project we had given 100% of the contract value due to the company saying if we didn’t give the next % payment they would stop coming and not buy the materials, even though we paid 50% upfront for materials 2 weeks before the project started. Since the company had all our money (huge trusting mistake on our behalf) we really didn’t have any say throughout the project and had to comply with all the requests as we wanted our basement to be completed. Before the renovation was anywhere close to being completed they told us if we didn’t put up positive reviews they wouldn’t continue with the work. In addition the company actually messaged us the reviews they wanted us to post. (please see photos attached.) – There is a reason there are only all 5 star reviews, and 1 star reviews posted for this company... This company when presenting you a contract will say that it is an all-inclusive rate, then once they have started and you have paid upfront all the money, they will constantly try to get more money from you, and when that doesn't work they will try to scare you and say you never paid taxes. Furthermore, this company uses an app called Joist, this app allows them to change the contents of your original contract ex: removing items, and then say it wasn't included. At this time the company has completely deleted our contract all together from Joist although the job has not been completed. Please see attached the work that was done in my home - poor drywalling/mudding, uneven tiling, uneven cuts, no daily clean ups {I had to clean up}, cigarettes' everywhere, ruined grass from contractors trucks, concrete mess, and damaged products. Also please see attached photos of the glass shower doors that were installed into my ceiling.. as it wasn’t measured correctly prior to installation, I then had to pay out of pocket/pick up new glass shower doors, and now have tiles that are damaged & filled with white caulking as the “fix” in my shower. Search Elsewhere! Please do not let this happen to you ????

Excellent work done on March 12, 2021! I had drywall with glue all over it from a previous wall of mirrors on it. Requested a quote from the company and heard back same day. Emails and a quote were given, and the work was booked in less than 2 weeks of the initial request! He followed the Covid protocols with a mask on and we kept 6 feet a part. He also did a bit of extra work by removing the drywall that was there since there was electrical in the wall instead of putting drywall over it. This lead to more time spent on the project, but a safe outcome since the electrical wire was twisted and turned in the wall - no electrical problems here!!! Overall a fantastic company, excellent job and a happy woman in her first home :)

They responded to me every single time I had a question within 15min and took the time to listen to me and respond quickly. They educated me and made me feel comfortable. The owner was onsite everyday which I appreciated and him being so meticulous lead us to a gorgeous completed project on budget and on time, I highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again. Used this company for a project. I was not happy with the overall quality of the work completed. I have spent over $6000 extra to have work completed by other contractors after Aurelio and Rick did their work. There is other work that can still be done to improve the overall product but those costs are excessive. The contractors who came to fix the errors that were made just shook their heads and said "you gotta watch out for contractors like this." All this to say when considering this business to do your project. 1) for a company that brings 20 years of experience to the table, why are there only 30ish reviews 2) the Brian Beaumler thing is a paid service. I contacted the company and they said they in no way actually endorse this company, they trust they will do good work and be a good contractor but there is no real link to the Beaumler company and it does not guarantee anything. 3) this company likes to make it appear they are large scale. There are only 2 employees, Aurelio and Rick. So operations manager and senior management means nothing when they are responding to reviews. They are the only 2 guys doing work. 4) they use random contractors to do plumbing, electrical etc. You have no idea what you're really getting in terms of quality. Real companies have dedicated contractors such as electricians and plumbers, not random guys who show up. 5) lastly the pictures on the website look good, but the devil is in the details. A close up of some of these projects will demonstrate deficiencies in workmanship. Lastly, do not provide a review until the job is actually complete. Aurelio will pressure you for a review in the middle of the project which isn't fair as you have no idea if you will be happy with the final product. Lesson learned the hard way on my end.

(EDIT 2021/02/23: I have read the business's response and would like to invite them to explain where I attempted to get free electrical work from them when they are the ones who offered to include it. Second of all, I find it comical they put my age in their response, as if that will discredit me further. Thirdly, they got my age way wrong.) I’ve noticed when there are poor reviews, Aurelio attempts to discredit the reviewer instead of addressing the concerns, as well as having Google remove the review where possible (and yes, I, like one of the reviewers below, also consider this manipulating the reviews so it looks like he has only 5-star ratings). The response to negative reviews consistently aims to paint the customer as having some kind of personal vendetta against his business (noticed this on BBB too). We should be able to share our experiences just as equally as the positive ones without fear of being personally attacked. I can only speculate that that may be why people leave reviews under pseudonyms. When I was having issues with Aurelio, I actually reached out to one of the people who left an email address before their review was removed, and their experience was legit and closely mirrored my own. In light of this, I’ve finally decided to leave my personal review. Here goes: PROS: responds quickly, price seems fair (but not relative to the quality, in my experience), kid that worked with him was very pleasant, mudding on the interior side of the wall where the garage entry door was cut/installed was done well CONS: the overall end result seemed sloppy and rushed (this is what I mean by the price doesn’t end up seeming fair relative to the quality). Photos are attached of subpar elements of paint job (original paint colors are visible around edges, some kind of grey-ish primer they got on the ceiling and crown moulding, paint on trim/rail, leftover tape, etc), messy mudding job around the closet, and unfinished drywall repair. Was not forthcoming with me; when I was getting a quote, he said he would include a light switch (“valued at $350-550”, his words), which I thought to be an incentive to go with him. Seemed like a good deal to roll the light switch into the overall cost! But after the switch went in, he told me “if anyone asks, say you did it yourself”. Wasn't expecting this... thought it was a professional job rolled into the quote, not a DIY under-the-table thing. He didn’t go through the ECA and didn't rectify the situation when I began expressing discomfort. I had to pay an additional $500 to get an independent electrician to correct and pass the electrical work with a certificate of inspection, so I didn’t save any value of “$350-550”. Also, the building permit he ‘opened on my behalf’ for the garage entry door could not be closed the way the job was left -- I had to spend an additional $500+ after he left in order for it to be ready for final inspection. I only realized this after I called the city to see if any inspections had been completed (after the light switch fiasco, I wondered what else was not done properly unbeknownst to me). If ‘opening it on my behalf’ meant he was exonerated from completing it properly/having it inspected or something, I wish that had've been clearly communicated to me (I never saw the application for the permit). First time homebuyer here; I assumed when I hire a contractor to do something that they would complete the project from start-to-finish or at least let me know upfront "X cost is to get you partway there but wouldn't fulfill inspection requirements, Y cost is for total completion". I am in no way an expert in construction... hence why I defer to/hire the 'professionals' (herein lies my disappointment). This may have been an unfortunate misunderstanding on my part and I will certainly do my due diligence with every contractor henceforth, but I would have appreciated some transparency. Owner puts you in awkward position by requesting you leave reviews before the job is even complete.

Aurelio came through in a pinch for us this weekend. We needed to have someone help us with removing some drywall and checking behind the wall due to mice activity so that our kitchen cabinet installation would continue. Aurelio was professional, walked me through what he would do for us and checked to ensure that all gaps were closed off so mice access would be blocked off. He completed the work in just a few hours and cleaned up after himself. We appreciated his help and his excellent service. I would recommend him.

My living room ceiling had a horrible leak from my master bedroom bathroom. I found a plumber first, got that issue resolved, then I called a few companies to fix the ceiling mess. I received different quotes. This company had comparable quotes but also explained in details what to expect, more than the others. They were responsive to my rush needs, as I was nervous my ceiling would fall. Very thorough, kept the area clean, I'am very pleased with the service provided and my ceiling looks as if nothing happened. I will be recommending to my family and friends. Thank you!

The fact that there are only 5 star and 1 star reviews should be enough to tell you something is wrong here. Look at the one star reviews and take them seriously. Very egotistical guy that manipulates his google reviews as well as dismisses anything negative or critical against him. Very unprofessional in his work and demeaner as well.

Warning to anyone hiring Ottawa Renovation & Construction. They will take your money without any regret. They will outright lie during the job and about their credentials and the worst part, is they do not care about homeowners. Auriello, who owns and operates Ottawa Home Renovation & Construction is a one man show despite them referring as senior management. They've uploaded reviews on their own profile and will claim false review on any negative feedback. The fact that this company has so many bad reviews shows that they are proven time and again to not be reliable, cheat and steal. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere unless you want a headache, loss of money, or loss of quality.

As I a woman I was hesitant about hiring a contractor to finish my basement. After 3 quotes I decided to go with Aurelio from Ottawa Renovations and Construction Corp end result is beautiful and exactly what I wanted. I will say he did finish 4 days after estimated finish date but he did warn me at first meeting it was just a estimated finishing date. Still being cautious I paid almost $500 to have another company do a full inspection of work before I issued last payment. They spent 3 hours in my basement and came back with it was a amazing and only fault they could find is the said shower door hinge could be a little tighter and they did it for me. As a cautious consumer I would definitely recommend this company after my enjoyable experience!

I paid very good money for bathroom renovations.. and got less than satisfactory results. Don't be fooled by this company's website... their accreditation with the Better Business Bureau and Baeumler Approved has been revoked for unethical practices. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere! Sincerely, M. UPDATE: Company's response below is unbelievable and speaks volume about the owner's character! This is not a false review... I have my own contract and my own nightmare with this company. I am an honest person, simply trying to alert potential customers.
