I spent a lot of time researching where I could buy what I needed to redo our staircase to match the tropical Walnut hardwood floors I installed. I was expecting Walnut stairs, railings and moldings would be crazy expensive so I decided to do the work myself to save some money. When I found Scotia Stairs, I contacted them with my intentions and they were extremely helpful. First thing was to suggest using Birch instead of Walnut, Birch is something like three times cheaper than Walnut. Larry assured me they could stain the Birch to match our Walnut floor very closely. I ordered the materials and waited. When everything arrived, I was super happy with the quality of the treads, railings and moldings which were all matched to our floors very nicely. During the whole process of building the new staircase, I had a lot of questions and everyone I talked to at Scotia Stairs was very helpful and patient. With their great ideas, suggestions and high quality products, I completed the work and our stairs look like a million bucks. Highly recommended. Good, honest, professional people at Scotia Stairs. Thank you for making our stair dreams a reality.

The install went great, they cleaned up before leaving, and the price was fantastic. We'll be having him in to look at ripping out the lousy construction grade stairs and carpet in our home.

When I was searching for a new finish for my previously carpetted stairs, i came across this company. The product seemed reasonably priced compared to lesser quality offerings that i could find locally. My questions were answered professionally, and they were able to provide the treads to exactly match the finish of the hardwood floor that we had just installed. The treads arrived well packaged, and on time. My Scottish carpenter who installed them was well pleased with the quality of product compared to what he usually sees. May seem odd to ship stair treads from so far away, but absolutely worth the effort.

Of all the different sub contractors that were involved with the house build Scotia Stairs was the easiest to deal with and came through on time with a beautiful finished product. Larry (Owner) was great. Any problems that came up he immediately found a solution where everyone was happy. The quote I was given was exactly what I paid. No hidden costs or fees. Not to mention the very competitive pricing which I was happy to pay for given the quality of work and service provided. These guys work hard and genuinely want to please there customers, from Larry (owner) down to the installer. After the stairs were installed the installer would send me pictures of excitement on how good they looked. That kind of service seems to be hard to find these days. I have had more positive comments on the stairs than anything else in the house. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone looking for a company that does great work with no surprises.
