Months ago, Nusite made my mother's basement leak categorically worse. This claim has been independently inspected, verified and reported on by forensic engineers. My mother, who lives alone, needs to keep a basement tenant to supplement her modest income. After Nusite was hired to get the jump on one small leak in the corner of the basement (she's extremely conscientious as a landlord), more and more water began entering the premises each time it heavily rained. It was even the same colour as the red sand that they used to infill their trench! To avoid mold growth, she has had to remove a portion of the damaged dry wall from her tenant's apartment, exposing the now damp foundation walls, as well as keep a dehumidifier running 24/7. What a terrible thing for her tenant and his two young children to live with during the holiday...! My personal inconvenience has been relatively minor, limited to organizing and communicating with the engineering firm that our family has had to pay on top of Nusite's original fee. (We had to hire them to get independent proof that Nusite's offer to fix the problem for a fee was against the spirit of the original contract.) I'm now heading over to Christmas dinner early so I can shovel melting snow off the tarps covering Nusite's inept weeping tile excavation. Nusite's owners, Ryan and David S. (My final restraint keeps me from naming them) have seemingly passed all responsibility onto the employee/sub-contractor who completed the original work: They won't return our calls or emails. This employee seems not to have the resources or will or skill to correct the job. Nusite itself has taken ZERO meaningful action to protect my mother's home and their brand's name. I've hesitated for months to post this, thinking "They have to do something! Surely, this week they'll take responsibility?" But no. Nothing. So today I'm respectfully posting this. It's a family focused time, one that should emphasize generosity, kindness, and goodwill. We are lucky to have a home at all, I know this. Truly. But so too are David and Ryan S. lucky to have many thousands of my mother's dollars. Let's hope goodwill is put into action now. I've got an extra shovel if they've got the day off...

At bloor and south kings way at 11:35am Nov 13th, 2019; , a nusite contractor pickup truck drove onto on coming traffic almost hitting my car..almost causing an accident. The guy driving the truck drove away without even turning back. Very unprofessional and reckless.

Hired Nusite to waterproof my house after years of leaks. Brad who came to give the quote was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave me options. The work was done fast. The crew was in and out in a day and a half over a weekend. All the workers were friendly. I would have given a 5 star review, but a couple of things caused a 4. First there was a dependency from what Brad said was to be done to what the foreman thought was to be done. That caused a little stress right off the top, but with calls to the owners that was settled and the quote was honored. I think better communication between office and foreman would have made sure this didn't happen. The other thing was the mess that was left. My neighbors house and walk way was left muddy and I had to call the guys back to clean it. That should have been cleaned when the job was finished not a few days later. Not sure why they didn't put boards up to make sure the neighbors house wasn't affected. Also, the crew left coffee cups and empty cigarette packs all over that we had to clean. Also we have kids and we don't smoke. The crew should not be smoking on peoples property. All this said the work was done well and so far no leaks.

He made daily visits to my home to keep tabs on his staff. He didn’t just secure the sale and bail. My home required benching and waterproofing. The initial inspection and estimate were very easy, and the price was fair. The salesman Milton is straightforward, friendly and reassuring. Totally professional. But what really surprised me was the crew of guys who did the work. They went above-and-beyond dealing kindly with a crazed neighbour and working in awkward, hard-to-reach areas -- all the while taking care not to damage the garden too much. They cleaned up everything beautifully (far more thorough sweeping than I ever do), and were an absolute pleasure. It was brutally hot, but they were always cheerful and friendly, and they did the job in 3 days instead of the 5 days that were initially anticipated. I was honestly dreading having everything all dug up and messy, but they made it easy and left it all tidy and clean. I highly recommend these guys :)

Before moving into my older home purchase I decided to protect my investment by externally waterproofing the premises. I’ve found that the previous owners tried to fix a leaking basement with injections and Gemil was quick to point out the benefits of waterproofing. The quote was efficient and fair compared to another leading waterproofing company so I went with Nusite. I was promised the job would be completed within a week but due to weather (understandably) and perhaps the company’s decision to start some other jobs while I was on vacation which wasn’t suppose to happen if it was completed within the time promised, the job was not finished till a month later! Then we ran into issues where part of the site could not be completed as it looped beneath a concrete slab (it was originally thought that the wall extended out to that point - an oversight on their part as they had access to the interior and exterior)and excavating that section would be additional cost. I was credited the part that was not done. Sigh. Lastly, they could not locate the connection to the city drain despite waterproofing the premises (quite disappointed with this). All efforts with cameras couldn’t solve this mystery. Anyhow, at the end of the job when I asked for a sump pump to be installed the office manager told me to go find someone else. I must have just had a mediocre experience despite spending over $21k on this job. I just hope that the quality stands up and that I don’t have to exercise my warranty...

All I can say is that these guys are the best under-pinners / water-proofers in Toronto. Here is why: Our journey with Nusite began with Jeff. Well spoken and clean cut guy, met us at our home and took the time to really explain everything that would happen. I had a lot of questions as our case was a very special one. He answered everything flawlessly, without being pushy in the least. He really listened to our concerns and was very thorough. Our home is a semi-detached and we did not want ANY issues with our neighbour. Our home was built in the 1930’s (Old Semi) and part of the soil structure might have been unstable. We needed experts that would do an amazing job, with absolutely no chance for a risky structural problem for either my neighbour or our property. Jeff explained everything in perfect detail and made sure that I understood. He and the team at Nusite helped me with obtaining all the information my neighbours lawyer wanted in order to give us permission to proceed. Jeff and his team (David etc…) really went out of their way, and we are very grateful. Without the neighbours consent, the City of Toronto would not grant us the permits to begin. This process was a lot of back and forth, and during this time, Jeff & David were very professional and responsive. Really went above and beyond for me and my family, as well as my neighbours. We are very greatful for their patience during those months of back and forth. Really an unusual circumstance for them I’m sure. Nusite was not the cheapest quote I received, but as the good old saying goes: “You get what you pay for”. That couldn’t be more true in this case. You see, what I came to understand later is that Nusite doesn’t outsource any of their work to the cheapest bidder. All of their staff are in house employees, and represent the company. This is very important, especially for a big job like an underpin. You don’t want the labour outsourced to anther company as there could be liability issues down the line, and there is no guarantee of a quality job. With Nusite, that was not a concern. Then the job began… We met with Jacob and his team. All I can say is these guys are some of the most respectful, clean, precise contractors I have ever met. Every day, they would come in, roll a carpet down to protect our floors and would do a job that is so clean, you can eat off it. Even the city inspectors were in awe! They protected my grass outside. Were mindful of my neighbors on the other side too. They did the underpin in very small tranches, to ensure foundational stability and really took care of our property better than if it was their own. They used laser levels to ensure that each cement pour was even. They ensured that my wife could continue to do laundry and reconnected the washer and dryer downstairs countless times. They installed a new beam through the home and replaced my old wooden one. They were thoughtful, respectful and I will never forget the job they did. Jacob (and your team), than you so much. I can tell that you really love what you do. I really shows in your workmanship. I now have a house that is on stronger footing than ever before, a basement that my kids can play in safely. Nusite went above and beyond, and I’m certain they will do the same for you. Do yourself a favour, and hire them. You won’t regret it.

Nusite came out to my brand new build to help with the high water table we found upon digging the hole. David and his team were great from start to finish. They worked with my builder ensuring no lost time on the job site coordinating the job. They did an exterior waterproofing job, new weeping tiles and based on David's advice, we did an interior waterproofing as well. The options for sump pumps, backup systems and interior waterproofing were more money than the competitors but it seemed well spent and justified. It went against some other contractor opinions but based on the presentation and speaking with our contractor, we believed what he said was in our best interest. Our basement is now finished and bone dry. If you are renovating your house or building a new one I would use these guys. If I move, I will be calling David back to do my next property.

had my leak fixed on the outside of the house, i was told to remove all trees which i did, once the digging started all my plants were under the tarp, killed all the plant $200.00 to replace them, thye also took a piece of the stone retainign wall down and did a horrible job with the morter, looks terrible, i will have to tear it down again and have it re-done, very sloppy job , all the stones were put back into my flower bed had to clean it all up myself , beware if you hire very sloppy and messy job,

We recently hired Nusite to underpin and waterproof our basement and were extremely happy with the work done. The job started with an initial consultation with David Steinberg, who visited our house at the outset of the job to get a sense of the scale and complexity of the underpin. David was friendly, generous with his time and very knowledgable and we had a detailed quote from him within a matter of days. After getting our permits (and working with Nusite's preferred engineer, Wesley Peter, who was also a pleasure to deal with) we were set to begin. We were worried about construction dust in our house so David specifically advised that we should wait for his best crew - a father and son team run by two gentlemen named Jakub and Marc, as they were his cleanest and best workers. I'm glad we waited for them, as Jakub and Marc (and the rest of their crew) were the best contractors I have ever worked with. They were extremely considerate of our space and meticulously clean. The basement workspace was always immaculate and they regularly swiffered and vacuumed our first floor to minimize the dust. The work itself was great and done quickly with the job taking ~ 8 weeks all in. Communication was also very good - Jakub checked in with us on pretty much a daily basis to keep me informed about the job, and was always available to answer questions at any time. All in all it was a great experience, and I would happily recommend Nusite to anyone looking for any type of structural or waterproofing work in the basement. EDIT: we have since used Nusite for some additional work - they dug and installed a window well for us also did some structural framing (the owner Geoff also builds custom homes). Once again the work was top notch and they were super responsive.

We were in the process of completing a renovation at our house in Toronto and had to select a contractor to lower the basement floor, install a bench footing and complete interior waterproofing with a sump pump. Nusite was one of 3 contractors interviewed. During the selection process it was clear that David had a thorough understanding of what was required to complete the job and provided clear recommendations on the process to follow. Pricing was comparable with the other two contractors but we felt that Nusite had a leg up in terms of industry knowledge so we proceeded with Nusite. We worked with Milton F. from Nusite who was great - responsive and informative. We had deterioration of the foundation of our home, and water seepage in the basement. Nusite did a terrific job repairing and waterproofing the foundation. From the initial coordination of a structural engineer assessment to identify the approach that the repair need to take, through to the dig and repair, the work was done in a timely and in a professional manner. We are pleased with the outcome as we have had a number of rainstorms with a nice and dry basement! The work was exceptional although the the coordination in the back office could be improved. However, they were responsive to our feedback, which was great.

I don't write reviews much, but I actually work in design/remodelling and I can say that David at NuSite has helped me on multiple projects over multiple years. I've asked the most basic tedious questions, to very technical details, and he's always been more than generous with his time. He both knows what he's doing, and he understands what he's doing – trust me, there's a difference! I've also recently noticed there are so many companies (and plumbers?) advertising underpinning, but I assure you not many people do this work correctly, and even fewer have a history of doing it for a decade or more. Dave and his staff are amazing. My townhouse had a very weird and challenging drain issue that was giving me all sorts of headaches. The solution wasn't easy, wasn't obvious, and wasn't simple. We had the work done end of APRIL 2018 AND ON THE FIRST rain we had more water than we ever had before. We contacted David and Eric to no avail they never made any attempt to call us back since now we have an indoor swimming pool .My advise to anyone reading this don't use nusite

I am so happy we chose Nusite to waterproof our basement. We had water seepage and a mold smell coming from our basement. Gemil assessed our situation and gave his honest recommendation. It has been 2.5 years since the work has been done and our basement no longer leaks or smells. They are so professional and reliable. We had a sump pump installed and something happened with the pipe internally that was causing a leak. I contacted Gemil outside of regular hours and his customer service was excellent. He got someone to come almost immediately. Lloyd was able to fix the problem and no damage occurred. Nusite has a great warranty and gets the job done!

I would like to give my thanks to Milton, Jacob, Eric and all those at Nusite who helped deliver a long time wish into reality. I have a backsplit home, and about 40% the footprint of the house is a crawl space which is (3'10") tall. Naturally, I wanted this "dead" space made more functional. Basic overview of work: I wanted the finished product to be 8ft in height. Two crawlspace rooms to be merged. Load bearing wall between rooms to be knocked out and replaced with steel I-beam. Final room footprint is 20' X 20'. They would need to excavate about 4-5 feet down. Overpour method used for extending foundations walls. 3' X 2' Egress window required. Interior and exterior waterproofing is what I wanted as well. Sump pump with battery backup. After getting all the engineering plans approved, Nusite was able to deliver their "A" game. Milton was my point of contact and put Jacob's team on the job. I must admit that Jacobs crew (as promised) was super tidy. They used drop cloths everywhere, used poly sheets to contain all the construction dust. They even lined up the shovels and vacuumed the staircases they used; very good attention to detail. They were respectful to any concerns I had along the way. Answered all my questions professionally. The house remained functional all thru the project. Eric, thank you for putting together a company that can deliver what it says it can do; much appreciated. The pricing came in just under 100k after tax which was quoted. No unexpected delays once the project was started. I would recommend Nusite for any basement work.
