As a carpenter apprentice, Powell Contracting was a great company to work for. The company had a huge variety of jobs. I got to work with the journeymen who were not only experienced at what they do, but also patient when it comes to teaching apprentices. The employer did not treat apprentices as general labourers. The quality of work was superb. The employees took pride of their craftsmanship. Overall, Powell Contracting is a great choice for apprentices seeking to build on their careers. It also has friendly coworkers, stable hours and decent wage.

We just did a substantial renovation to a very challenging old home and couldn't be happier with the entire Powell Contracting team. Our renovation featured a number of unique challenges and a very tight budget. Ed was fantastic at helping us find creative and cost effective solutions and never tried to upsell us on anything not needed, unlike the other three contractors we spoke to. The job was completed on budget, despite a few hiccups that could not be avoided (asbestos). We know from previous renovations that there will always be hiccups, and what makes a great contractor is how they deal with them. Ed and his project team were always in communication with us, we trusted Ed's advice and the house is unrecognizable with its new facelift! We have not only gotten compliments from neighbours on the finished work, but several neighbours commented to us that the team was always polite, professional and seemed to be very hard working during the period that we not living in the house. Every member of the team we met were helpful, polite and highly skilled. One even stopped to read to my one year old daughter when she brought them a book. I couldn't recommend Powell more highly and would not hesitate them to use them again.

We renovated kitchen, living room, move laundry room, stairs, and office. From initial quote to final inspection Ed and his team were there throughout the process. Ed was proactive with his communication and was nice to also invite us to his home for some design inspiration. He was also easy to contact and would call back same day if he does not pick up Quality of the job was also above expectation and his crew was also polite to answer any questions.
