Al and his team just recently finished a brand new cedar fence for my yard, and I could not be happier! With most of my renovation project ideas, I end up working with a general contractor who's more experienced in bringing my vision to life. However when meeting with Al initially to go over my yard, I felt confident in knowing what needed to be done. He went to great lengths towards explaining how we could go about achieving my envisioned yard, and even had a brochure where I got to select all the options for my fence. What I initially thought to be a daunting replacement of "a fence" ended up becoming a project where I felt invested enough to say "I was apart of that." Al, truly some magnificent work. Thank you!!

Al and Team Capilano did an amazing job repairing a section of my fence that had rotted on the bottom and could no longer support the gate. I had tried to contact a number of contractors to get quotes before contacting Capilano Fence & Decking. Many of them (1) didn't pick my calls, (2) didn't return my inquiry emails, (3) didn't want to take the job because it was too small/big of a job, (4) would only take the job if I was getting the entire fence done, or (5) outside of their operating area. Capilano Fence & Decking is located quite far from where I am but was pleasantly surprised they didn't turn down the job. Al and Team Capilano were responsive (even after payment) and the details provided in their quote were superb. Just by pictures alone, they were able to figure out the issue and their quote gave me a good idea of how they will go about fixing the fence. At first, I was weary of the reviews cause it's crazy that they have all 5 star reviews but after this job, I totally understand. They deserve the 5 stars and I'm so glad I got them to do the work! The fence is way more stable than before and looks fabulous. Highly highly recommend Al and Team Capilano if you're looking to do fence repairs or any fence work.

We have been discussing updating our deck for 3 years and we always change our minds due to the cost, time frame and design issues. We also live in a strata so we need to adhere to the strata policies. This year due to being home and having time - we decided now was the time. We had various companies come out and quote on the job. Al came out and he was professional and friendly. We discussed ideas and came up with a plan that we were happy with. Al came back quickly with a costing. We set a date for the project to start, we paid our deposit and then we anxiously waited for first day of deck reno. Al kept the job site tidy each day. We got daily text updates and he was always available if we had questions. We loved seeing the daily changes. We could not be happier with the end result. We have used our deck every night since Al completed our deck reno.

Al and his team let me know up front that completing the project I had in the timeline I needed was going to be very tight. But they got it done. This project was all interior work repairing/replacing damaged drywall and flooring and all the finishing work after an external envelope project done by the strata. We started with holes in the wall and windows installed to a roughed in state and finished with everything looking like new down to matching the paint. I really liked how collaborative Al was in suggesting ideas and paths forward when we encountered something during the renovation. He also did a great job of making sure I was up to date on status. This meant no surprises which I really appreciated. The workmanship was solid and I'd happily call Al in again.

Al was very responsive, and his quotation was clearly laid out in writing. Follow up correspondence by email, text or phone was also clear and concise. Al listened to what I requested, but also provided his ideas and input. He was very efficient, and if he said he will be there on a certain morning he was, and he completed the job when he said he would. Overall he was very professional, polite and courteous. He and his crew also cleaned up thoroughly afterwards Most importantly, the quality of his work is excellent. Overall it was a pleasant experience from the beginning to the end, and we now have beautiful fence to the exact specifications I requested.

Carpenters that are rated 5 out of 5 on every dimension. A. Our project wasn't too big so for Al and his team to fit it in their schedules, it was impressive. We had to repair parts of our balcony and fence. What was even more impressive is that they worked hard during a hot sunny day on a long weekend. B. The craftsmanship was A+. Just perfection. C. We are picky with our tradesmen. I asked Al to fix a balcony that was already painted white without making any mess. He delivered! Thank you Al!

I love the fact that they reuse/recyle as much of the old wood as possible. So good for the environment! Al is very nice and polite and helped me find what I needed.

Capilano Fence & Decking team was responsive + informative on the issue /fix - more importantly no upsell. The team was super friendly and respective. No hassle. When I contacted Al about asking for donations of old fence boards, and I explained that I was going to refurbish the boards and use them to build a garden box for an elderly lady who loves to garden, he was extremely helpful and kind enough to meet with me and help me select some of the used fence boards from a site where he was building a new fence.
