We bought one of the new homes at Tectonica’s development ‘Park and Eighth’ and have been nothing but disappointed with the service and quality of build since. I normally wouldn’t write a review like this but I feel the need to warn others to not make the same mistake we did by going with this builder/developer.
The first big issue we encountered was a blatant violation of B.C. building code to save money. The builder failed to providing proper access to our rental suite. This resulted in us having to battle with them, involve B.C. building code, and hold them accountable. Throughout this process they tried to “meet us halfway” by agreeing to do half the work and have us complete the rest. The second big issue was a leak in our roof due to poor workmanship which took 2 weeks to fix. Had I not discovered this when I did it could have caused serious damage to our home. Mike (the builder) also agreed to have our appliances installed but later stated following delivery that I must have misunderstood him leaving me with all of the installation upon our move in. Since our move there has been a rattling sound on the roof that I have asked multiple times for them to address as it wakes us up at night quite frequently. There were also plenty of other deficiencies such as outlets that weren’t working upon move in, doors that wouldn’t open correctly etc. etc.
We thought buying a new home would be a great experience but dealing with Tectonica and their builder has been nothing but a struggle to say the least. Go with a reputable residential builder.
