My company was introduced to Bgallant Homes through a client in 2015 and after now many projects together (directly referred or indirectly ended up on the same project) Bgallant Homes is one of my top recommended contractors. We have worked together on all scope sizes of projects from small renovations to luxury custom homes. The design and construction industry has many challenges daily to provide services as we are continually working with different companies, different reps, new materials, innovations and industry updates. Byron , Ken & his team are extremely detailed orientated and educate themselves continually with the designs presented , preventing many onsite errors. They have always been on top of providing industry standard results and I have not seen anything less from them. Over the years, I've feel like I've seen it all with the different types of contractors. The biggest issue I see regularly (but not always) when I'm brought into a project with a contractor I'm unfamiliar with is the lack of involvement onsite, no attention to detail and no paperwork. Working along side Bgallant I've had the opposite experience. They provide formal paperwork, are very hands on and request detailing and organization from my company at it's highest level. Their rates are easily justifiable when I compare them to some of the other companies I've worked with. There is no flawless construction site due to the nature of our industry and I've never seen Bgallant leave a site in a manner that I would not recommend them or personally disagree with the quality. I constantly have feedback about how expensive renovating and building is and that is a fact from increasing shipping rates, currency exchange rates, recycling and disposal rates and the quality of work and materials, fixtures and finishes expected. I've yet to find low costs with good outcome and being in the industry we know why quotes, materials, fixtures, finishes etc. can be quoted less and look to be the same but can distinguish why they're not the same. Bgallant may select a higher bid or work with more expensive companies but it reflects directly on the quality.

This builder built a deck for us on a large home. The quality was fine, but we found their pricing to be misleading (considerable variation from quote to finished product, despite no issues or changes in plans). We would not recommend this builder to anyone.

Interesting to note I posted my initial review two years ago and it was only replied to a week ago. As for what individuals put on the internet, be it good or bad, I have as much control over that as you do Byron. The pictures don't lie, you and I both know how you chose to handle this entire situation. As I've recently been advised, there are lots of good contractors out there. To anyone reading this, you are welcome to contact me as others have. I will show you the renovation work done to my home so you can make an informed decision. UPDATE: After meeting with Byron to discuss what needed to be done to properly fix our kitchen. Byron's only focus was to do a quick fix on the wall behind our fridge. It then took Byron over two months to get an email back to me as he wouldn't return emails or my phone call. He still won't address the lighting placement mistakes and other unfinished work that his crew left behind. To top it off in his final email he wanted to charge us for fixing the mistakes by his crew. Byron has been nothing but unprofessional and disrespectful towards both my wife and I up to this point. It's safe to say that I do not recommend this company at all. (Gallant has also blacked out my screenshots of emails that tell the truth of their mistakes, you can see them on my "yelp" review) Lack of accountability and poor customer service. Most of the renovations done by B.Gallant to my home were satisfactory. Unfortunately any issues or problems that my wife and I found in their work were quickly dismissed by Ken their foreman in charge of the project . We had Steve one of the owners come by to look at the work and expected some resolutions to the above mentioned issues. This was well over six months ago, to date we still have never heard anything back from Steve. Byron, the main owner of B.Gallant was finally able to come by to check on the project. Byron was able to address and fix a few of the smaller issues but there is still the outstanding issue to do with our kitchen. Decisions and mistakes on our kitchen were made by the tradespeople and nothing was ever mentioned to my wife and I about it. This ended up costing us more money and we now have a kitchen that is not done as it was originally designed. Due to the total cost of properly fixing the kitchen, we were offered by Byron that they make some small changes to make do. My wife and I still found these suggested changes to be unsatisfactory. What is required to properly fix the issue is a new fridge as the original fridge we purchased wouldn't fit properly because of the above mentioned mistakes. A full overhaul of the installed cabinets, countertops, lighting and island as the lighting was installed in the wrong place causing the above mentioned items to be cut and installed in the wrong places. Until such time as B.Gallant can come to terms and fix our kitchen properly we will never be doing business with them again.

Im the biggest sceptic when it comes to builders . This was a complete turn around for me ,on time ,on budget and a pleasure to work with .And I got a rebate ! as they didn't quite come in on time .Seriously a rebate ! If thats not honesty and ethics I dont know what else could be Had three major projects completed by Gallant ,all with same results .Perfect. Attention to detail ,every time . Will now use Gallant ongoing in the future . I don't have to worry about a thing .Everything is looked after ,and they are great to deal with . A

We recently had Gallant Homes do what was to us a major repair to the foundation of our Nanaimo home. From the planning stages with Ken , through the construction, the entire team was very professional. They walked us through the city permitting, explaining the delays and pushing the project along.They were always polite and extremely neat, cleaning up completely every day. Every step was explained and re-explained as necessary until we were satisfied. We were welcomed to look over their shoulders and see the nature of the work, even when the concrete pump was pumping 5 cubic metres of concrete into the forms.. Warning to all! B gallant charges way to much and charges cost plus hourly and drags the job on forever. Byron is a shady person and has no problem lying to your face.If your looking for a good contractor he is not it! All his awards are a joke and so is his company! And I believe all his reviews are far from true and I know why his partner left!

We hired B.Gallant to do a renovation on our 1953 rancher. Ken, Steve and the whole crew, including all the trades were very professional, prompt, easy to work with and did an incredible job. The site was always cleaned after the day's work, the workers were all very respectful of us and our cat! as we "lived" in the house during renos. We certainly would not hesitate to recommend B.Gallant to others, because we would hire them again should the need arise.

My sister had her ensuite done beautifully by B.Gallant and so we decided to call them for ours. We were just planning to renovate our ensuite initially but decided to do our kitchen and powder room as well and into the laundry room. Ken, our project manager, showed up early everyday to let us know what was scheduled for that day. He and the tradespeople working on our house were professional, courteous and obviously very skilled. The renovations were completed in good time and we are so pleased with the the result. We would definitely call them again if we wanted anything else done. We highly recommend B. Gallant Homes!
