They were very dirty as well and did not take care of our home in that regard. Update: Thank you for the response from the owner. As you know from the hundreds of pics and videos I sent you of the botched work and complete incompetence, we were just too exhausted to have you guys come back again so we said everything was ok and hired someone else to complete certain aspects. It doesn't work and it's the first winter. He's been back three times to try and fix it. Groupe SP (SP Reno Urbaine) gutted then modernized my 19th century downtown duplex over the course of a few months. Initially, I called over a dozen reno companies for quotes, about half called me back for visits, and then only half actually showed up. Luckily, Groupe SP was one of the guys I called. They took me seriously right away, we met a few days later, and a few days after that Eric sent me a quote that was so detailed, I could see that he was really interested in my project. The rest of the workers (all permanent salaried employees) were equally professional and friendly. I liked that there was a clear hierarchy so I always knew who to talk to about any issues. I could check the clipboard daily to see what was done and what’s coming up. They delivered everything I could hope for in terms of efficiency, project planning and communication. Lastly, they will not abandon you after the project is done! I can still call up Daniel or Eric months later for follow ups, questions, advice or even minor jobs. I highly recommend them without any hesitation.

We met with Groupe SP Reno Urbaine halfway through a project that wasn't going well. We had fired our previous contractor and were looking for true professionals to take over and deliver two full bathrooms and a kitchen. From the evaluation, we knew right away that Groupe SP were professionals that had high quality standards and our best (and mutual) interest at heart. Groupe SP quickly put us in touch with an interior designer and started putting together a project team. We were given a very detailed estimate that left no room for interpretation. The project planning was thorough and impeccable and, most importantly, everything was meticulously executed according to the plan. Nothing was left to chance and any surprise or issue was dealt with promptly. We were kept informed throughout the project and consulted regularly. Planned checkpoints were well documented, as were invoices and receipts. Constant supervision on Groupe SP's part kept everything running smoothly. Our project was delivered on time and on budget. There was plenty of flexibility on the part of all parties involved to deal with changes and additions. We were always informed of the price of any change we requested or extra work that needed to be done. Thanks to Groupe SP, we are able to have family and friends over at Christmas 2014 with our newly renovated kitchen and bathrooms -- and with our minds at ease. We will definitely call upon Groupe SP next year when we plan on painting, changing mouldings and doors, redoing hardwood floors, stairs and built-in cabinets. Extremely satisfied with end result ! We chose SP Reno Urbaine because we were very tight on schedule. We had 1.5 months to finish two full bathrooms, 1 guest bathroom and tilings in the kitchen and entrance. We had a great experience with JF and Pierre. From day 1, JF explained to us each step within his planned schedule and I loved the board that he brought with him to hang in our kitchen. This helped me have a day to day followup of where we stood. Communication was key in this project and I was able to reach JF anytime during the day (And sometimes even at night) by SMS. Minor hiccups along the way which is normal in any renovation however the guys kept their professionalism and finished the works as desired. I'm looking forward to start my basement project with SP hopefully next summer. Thanks again !

No proactivity and worries of the often deficient finish; you have to do your own follow-ups to point out problems, otherwise they usually won't do anything, even when the problem is obvious. It was so disastrous that we had to find a certain supplier ourselves after SP tried 3 times to have a paint job done. We asked 5 times to fix a drawer that did not close properly and each time, we were told that the job was done even if the drawer obviously did not close! We let go of some finishing elements that still bother us today because we just wanted to finish the work. Astronomical costs; nothing justifies the exorbitant costs. We thought we would pay to have a turnkey and trouble-free service, but we had to get heavily involved in the project due to their incompetence in managing their deadlines and suppliers. Some suppliers called us directly. No follow-up from a design point of view once the project started, the designer was not aware of anything when we saw him again after 4 months. Again, nothing justifies the costs; they don't have a better team or better suppliers than elsewhere. For example, $ 150 + tx per built-in is not justifiable. No transparency and often absent communication between stakeholders; costs literally exploded within days of the start of the work. During and after the work, nobody seemed ever aware of the problems encountered on the site despite our regular calls to different hierarchical levels. As if no one is speaking to each other, yet they say they have regular team meetings. After months and dozens and dozens of problems, most stakeholders seemed to hear about our issues for the first time. Some of the follow-ups we were promised were never done. The lyrics were often only meant to make sure they were there for us, but very often there was no action to come with it. Bad advice; choice of materials sometimes not suited to "normal" and daily life (no concern for the level of maintenance required. Often aesthetics come before functionality). The renovations represent a very important investment, it is tragic to be wrong. You should not think that more expensive = better. The important thing is not to look professional; it is to be able to deliver, at reasonable and justified costs, and in compliance with its commitments. Un de leur sous-traitant ne s'est pas présenté à la date prévue au moins à 10 reprises et ils n'ont pas été en mesure d'en trouver un autre. Aucune proactivité et soucis de la finition souvent déficient; il faut faire ses propres suivis pour souligner les problèmes, sinon ils ne feront généralement rien, même quand le problème est évident. C'était à ce point désastreux que nous avons dû trouver nous-mêmes un certain fournisseur après que SP eu tenté à 3 reprises de faire faire un travail de peinture. Nous avons demandé à 5 reprises d'arranger un tiroir qui fermait mal et à chaque fois, on nous disait que le travail était fait même si le tiroir ne fermait visiblement pas! Nous avons lâché prise sur certains éléments de finition qui nous dérangent encore aujourd'hui parce que nous voulions seulement en finir avec les travaux. Coûts astronomiques; rien ne justifie les coûts exorbitants. Nous pensions payer pour avoir un service clé en main et sans problème, mais nous avons dû nous impliquer grandement dans le projet vu leur incompétence à gérer leurs délais et les fournisseurs. Certains fournisseurs nous appelaient directement. Aucun suivi d'un point de vue design une fois le chantier débuté, le designer n'était au courant de rien quand nous l'avons revu après 4 mois. Encore une fois, rien ne justifie les coûts; ils n'ont pas une meilleure équipe ou de meilleurs fournisseurs qu'ailleurs. À titre d'exemple, 150$+tx par encastré, ce n'est pas justifiable. Aucune transparence et communication souvent absente entre les intervenants; les coûts ont littéralement explosés à quelques jours du début des travaux. Pendant et après les travaux, personne ne semblait jamais au courant des problèmes rencontrés sur le chantier malgré nos appels réguliers à différents niveaux hiérarchiques. Comme si personne ne se parlait, pourtant ils disent avoir des réunions d'équipe régulières. Après des mois et des dizaines et dizaines de problèmes, la plupart des intervenants semblaient entendre parler pour la première fois de nos enjeux. Certains suivis qui nous avaient été promis n'ont jamais été faits. Les paroles visaient souvent seulement à nous assurer qu'ils étaient là pour nous, mais très souvent ils n'y avait pas d'action qui venaient avec. Mauvais conseils; choix de matériaux parfois non adaptés à la vie "normale" et quotidienne (aucun souci du niveau d'entretien requis. Souvent l'esthétisme passe avant la fonctionnalité). Les rénovations représentent un investissement très important, c'est dramatique de se tromper. Il ne faut pas croire que plus cher = meilleur. L'important n'est pas d'avoir l'air professionnel; c'est d'être capable de livrer, à des coûts raisonnables et justifié, et dans le respect de ses engagements.
