No one there. Tried to submit an online request, no response, tried EMAIL and no response, tried phoning and left voicemails, no response. No response means no job. I give up. Update Mar 3/2019: Mike at 310RENO reached out to me and apologized for the delay, apparently their key estimator was out on emergency leave and they are swamped. He arranged to come out for an estimate the next day! Looking forward to working with them.

At the end of the day, the work got done and it was a decent job. However, the way we got there was exhausting and stressful. There are way too many layers of bureaucracy at 310 Reno, and I had major communication issues with Mike. Mike and Charles both made me feel like I was a nuisance and difficult. Whenever they needed something from me, it felt like they expected an immediate answer. When I asked something from them, whether it be a confirmation or request, it would take up to 2 days to get a reply. Sometimes I had to ask twice before I got a response. I was under the impression that Mike would check in at least a few times during the job, but he only came to the house for a walkthrough and again on the first day of the job, then I never saw him again. Subsequently, I had various strangers come in and out of the job. It would have been nice to get a heads up when new trades came into my house and to know what new person to expect. Hamze was my main point of contact from then on, and he is a delight to work with. However, when it came to certain things on the job that needed adjusting, Mike tended to micromanage even though he was never onsite and had no context. If something was missed and it wasn’t in the contract, I was out of luck. It was my mistake to not have everything spelled out, but if I ask to have laminate installed, I would expect to have it installed throughout the basement, and not have a small storage area that they created as part of the job be excluded. I ended up agreeing to pay extra to do this work. This nickel and diming is well within their right, but it leaves a bad taste from a customer's point of view. Another example: before the start of the job (and after I signed the contract), I had requested via text and email to have the pot lights installed on a dimmer. Mike replied that it was not a problem, but towards the end of the job he completely forgot about it and was very reluctant to add it until I reminded him that I had his agreement in writing. Charles specifically suggested to finish the stairs using oak caps, and I agreed to this at an additional cost. However, near the end of the job, Mike asked us how we wanted it stained. We asked him to match the laminate we chose for the basement, which is very light. He explained to us that it’s very difficult to do, and he could only do a 75% colour match at best. Even though I was OK with this, he did not want to take responsibility for the results and asked to be let out of this part of his end of the contract. I agreed to this, but I didn’t get the same courtesy on my end for minor requests that add little incremental cost (at least not without a lot of hemming and hawing). At the beginning of the job I showed Mike and Charles pictures of how I wanted the wall behind my TV to be panelled with wood. Before signing the contract, they both said it shouldn’t be a problem, and that it would probably end up costing around $600 extra or so. We included it in the contract, with the actual cost to be determined later. When the job started though, Mike insisted that it wouldn’t look good unless we used a solid block of wood, which would cost in the $3000+ range. Even though I was OK with using multiple wooden planks (like in the pictures I showed them) at a cheaper cost, he insisted that it wouldn’t look good and did not want to do it that way. I ended up giving up on the whole idea and just plain drywalling it because what I envisioned wasn’t up to the standard of the company, and they didn’t want to put their name on it. I expressed all my issues to Mike on the phone over the course of the job, and I took responsibility for some communication issues regarding the start date on my end, but never once did I get an apology from Mike nor did he ever accept any blame. Mike is never wrong — nothing is his fault. For this reason, I cannot recommend them. I hired 310-Reno because of their numerous good reviews here (which they alluded to many times to me while I was voicing my concerns), but do not feel that they lived up to their reputation.

Our family survived a Covid-reno and 310-Reno made it possible! From the very beginning, one of the first things we noticed was that they listened, really listened to our needs and concerns. We really appreciated the attention to detail, and the fact that they added in a few things for our benefit. When the project began, things just seemed to run smoothly. Arie and his work crew were punctual, respectful and were very hard workers, making sure to get each stage done exceptionally well. We liked that they created a WhatsApp group for us, making communication accessible, comfortable and easy throughout the whole process. Overall, we are VERY happy with our finished product and we wouldn't hesitate to use them again!

I had been looking for some time for a reliable and professional company to upgrade my shower room: Mike came to assess the work only three hours after I phoned. His team at 310 RENO completed my shower room from floor tiles, wall tiles and new drywall in a highly professional manner. As a perfectionist I have been trying to find faults and have been unsuccessful: they did not take any short-cuts and all the work has been done to a very high standard and professional finish. Each time I take a shower it feels like I am in someone elses luxury apartment: the difference from the typical builder work before to what it is now could not be more stark. When it came time to pay, Mike refused to accept until after he personally came and inspected that everything was to my satisfaction 100%. This is a rare kind of craftsman, you will not regret finding his company.

My experience with Mike and his team was great from beginning to end. We engaged 310 Reno to completely renovate a basement bathroom in our rental property. It was a small project that needed to get done quickly. Mike called me back right away and was able to give me an estimate for the work very quickly, and we set up a time to get the work done.
