Horrible service from the office. I had them do a simple install. First day, they just didn't show up. When I called at end of day (after staying home all day waiting), owner didn't seem to care. no apology. Blamed it on an a broken down truck. The next day, they came on time, but made a mistake on install that led to water leaking through to my basement, causing some minor damage and inconvenience. I politely called about the mistake, and the owner, Dave, mocked me completely unprovoked. Again, he could care less and I never raised my voice and was courteous. Plumber returned the next day to repair the issue and charged only for the one visit. Still, the cost was not worth the disrespect and my wasted time. I am done with this business. This local tradesperson should have more respect for the people in the community that supports him and his family.

They were happy to come out and assess a problem with a leaky pipe in our basement and were actually very courteous while at our house. The problems came when we set up a time for them to come do the repair and no one showed up, no call either. Called them again, set up another time. No one showed up. Basically was told "someone will be by next week" for 6 months with no one ever showing up and no one ever calling to cancel. Very disappointing. Called another plumber in Barrie to actually get the problem fixed. I would much rather support a local business, but when they don't work with you, there isn't much you can do.

Had them in to do a plumbing repair. Job was scheduled quickly, workers arrived when promised and quickly completed the job. They were very friendly, easy to work with. They also offered some great advice to help prevent the same problem from happening in the future. I will be calling Carpenter's again for future work.

Bottom blew out of my hot water tank. When I went up to see I saw an early arrival at Herb Carpenters Shop. I drove up and he came down right away and stopped the leak. After installing a new tank they also came and told me how to fix overheating problem. We have always used them for our Double Check Valve annual inspections and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Called in for an emergency AC repair at our property with resident being 80 years old. First call was great, lady was very friendly and recommended another contractor. I called back to book them and the man that answered was extremely rude. Told me to tell the resident to crack a window. His attitude was remarkably rude. I won't be recommending this company to anyone.

Disorganized and no-shows. Twice I've had them come to look at issues. They take a look and then say they'll come back in a week. Then they don't show up at all. I haven't bothered to cancel because obviously they've forgotten or misplaced my info. Who knows and who cares why.

I waited two years for them to give me a quote on a plumbing job at my cottage. When they finally came by, they said I would have a quote within a week. That was three months ago and still haven't heard anything. I've since found a different plumber and the job is complete. I think Herb Carpenter has more work than they know what to do with. If you want my advice, go to one of the smaller guys who can give you great customer service at a decent price. These guys might be well known, but there a plenty of great plumbers in the Midland area. Beware of people with only one or two reviews that leave five stars for this company.

Using Herb Carpenter was a mistake.The job quoted was for around $5,000. switching over from an external pump house to an in basement location to provide water to both a cottage and a bunkie.The cottage was hooked up and a gas hot water tank was added ($1200 labour plus tax seems an excessive amount to install a hot water tank).....the Bunkie was NOT connected. We were totally floored when we received the bill for $3500 more than quoted. A pressure tank was added when the existing one was fine. Note that all labour is billed at $85 per hour and they send a large crew to do a small job. It took 2 men 4 hours to move a stackable washer and dryer 25 feet after the hose connections had already been prepared. When questioned about the failure to connect the Bunkie as well as the size of the bill....Dave Carpenter was arrogant, condescendingly rude and totally unhelpful. All our other local trades were excellent. Would we ever recommend him ...NO..

Never received a phone call back after speaking with the office a week ago. I was told I would get a phone call on Monday and as of Thursday - I've still yet to hear back. When I talked about getting a quote, for a new bath tub insert and a swap out and install of a new shower, I was told I would need a carpenter? Last time I checked this was a plumbing company. I've now contracted a reliable and responsible plumbing company from Barrie.
