The other 5 star reviewers don’t lie at all. This crew is awesome and worth the slightly higher than average quotes I received from other landscaping contractors that got back to me. They run a tight ship and got the work done early without seemingly sparing any expense or detail. They are hands down the best bang for the buck and I’m glad we didn’t just go with the cheapest option we had presented for this project. Highly encouraging that the most expensive doesn’t mean the best and that lower pricing doesn’t equate to less than the best. I requested an estimate for my landscaping project through Facebook, and immediately got a response from Richard at total yard works to set up an evaluation and estimate. He was at my house the same day to discuss my ideas and had a estimate and plan ready a few days later. It was a short 3 weeks or so later since I first talked to them and we’re already enjoying our new yard with the neighbors constantly commenting on the job. Richard and the team were enjoyable, professional and courteous and super easy to work with. Constantly checking in at milestones and making sure me and the wife were happy. I have a hard time believing this team could receive anything less than a 5 star review from anyone and wholeheartedly recommended to anyone looking for any type of yard or landscape work this year!

Don't hire this company. We agreed to monthly, post dated cheques for snow clearing this winter. We had three snow falls worthy of clearing in December. Every single one of them was a problem. The first snow fall, my son wanted to shovel and we shovelled together. Admittedly, that's not really Total Yard Works' fault. The second snow fall, they shovelled about half of the surfaces we agreed to when I first hired them. The third snow fall was the big storm on Christmas day. We had to be somewhere boxing day so I cleared the driveway myself, leaving the walk and the back for these guys to clear. They drove by our place, saw the drive was cleared, and kept on driving. Didn't even get out to check. Four ten days I phoned, texted, emailed, left voicemails (when voicemail wasn't full, which was most of the time). I have spoken with the owner of the company at least four times. I've gotten comments like, "Oh...someone was supposed to come, I feel bad." But somehow, my yard just got left. My last actual contact with the owner, he said that there was more snow coming that night so someone would be by the next day. Two days later, still nothing. My last email was 4 days ago, asking for at least an explanation. No response. The most frustrating part is this guy still cashed my December cheque, in the midst of my phoning and emailing. I don't know if he overbooked himself, expecting less snow this winter, but he shouldn't be allowed to get away with this behaviour. You can look up their BBB rating yourself, but I attached a screen shot, in case you are interested.

Had Richard put in some window wells for us in the fall. Come spring the window wells filled to the brim with water. Richard didn't run it to the weeping tile. This caused my basement to flood. My entire basement carpet is ruined. After several weeks Richard agreed to come back and do it properly, he dug a hole, filled it up and that was it. Guess what happened this spring? Window well filled full of water. Water in the basement. Again. Do not do business with him.

Great guys, did an awesome job on my deck. They're doing snow removal for me this winter, and we're doing a nice cedar fence in the spring to match the deck. They put sod down (to replace a terrible sod job from another Winnipeg company) and not only did they actually give me specific instructions how to care for it (the other guys just assumed I knew how much to water it, but I didn't), they helped me set up my sprinklers to make sure it would be evenly watered and all I had to do was go turn the tap on. The manager (I forgot his name) even cam by a week later to make sure everything was good. Top notch service, I will definitely use Total Yard Works again anytime I need landscaping work done. -Chris

Professional, courteous, skilled, hard working team that creates a well built, aesthetic fence. Willing to make changes throughout the build to accommodate customer requests. Clean up needs a little improvement, but they had less than ideal weather conditions to contend with. Overall, I am satisfied and would recommend Rich and his team. The owner promptly returns your texts the same day. 1yr+ and he gladly will do warranty work. He cares about customer satisfaction. Thank you Rich! A pleasure to deal with, me and the wife just bought a new house in the Osborne area this spring and it needed a LOT of work - we got Total Yard Works to do some spring cleanup, install some hardscaping to plant some new trees, do some sod installation, weed and do a lawn fertilizer and revitalization program and then a fall cleanup this week to make sure that everythng would be prepared to make our yard more susceptible to growth and beauty for next summer. We kept the card around and noticed on their facebook page they do regular residential snow removal packages that were priced at about half of what I figured it would be in Winterpeg. The thought of never having to dig out my car and clear snow from my driveway and house before leaving for work at 5am when its -30C outside is realllllly nice! I'll be passing around a stack of business cards I asked for to my elderly neighbors, grandparents and friends that don't have time to be shoveling every morning before work.

I used to have a gravel trailer trash dead zone behind my house with my car being ransacked every few months. I called total yard works up, they were here with in the next few days to have a look and give a very fair quote, since they also landscape i was able to finish my entire back yard with just them and the whole thing was done in about 2.5 work days. They even rushed to get it done before winter when they didn't have to. Also, my cat enjoys it, woo. Now I'm not embarrassed of my horrible back yard and it looks great. Plus i have a great sliding gate for my car now that locks! I can't get over the difference! Thanks guys!

The Total Yark Works team did an excellent job of replacing fences in my yard. From the initial contact when an estimate was provided very soon after I called, to accommodating my needs for when it could be done, to getting the job done very efficiently within a day, being mindful of my plants and leaving the site tidy I was very impressed. A slight disruption of a retaining wall was missed when exiting on job day but when I pointed it out to the office the situation was remedied immediately. The work met my expectations and the team members were friendly and professional. I would recommend this company to anyone interested in getting some fence work done.

Two days before the new owners get possession of the house and a huge tree branch breaks off. We are so busy that we don't have time for this. We called Total Yardworks on the weekend and asked if they could clean it up. At least we could tell the new owners someone was going to clean it up. They did a large fencing project for us and neighbours. These guys worked hard and were very accommodating with changes and suggestions throughout. Fence looks awesome and we have no concerns at all that this fence will remain standing with no “frost-lift” for years to come. The only concern I had was with clean up. They could be better. Having said that, however, I did not do a final inspection with Richard which would have allowed me to identify. I would definitely recommend this company. Good job.

All new sod in the back yard and some on the front yard, Yippeeeee !!! We have grass… Side walk way in the back yard replaced with new blocks, decorative rock put in along new walk way. The guys from Total Yard Works busted their butts off and did a Fantastic job… I believe the job took a day longer than they expected, but that did not mater to them, came back morning of the third day to clean up. Don't walk, run away from this company. Took my elderly grandparents money in the form of prepaid cheques for snow clearing but haven't done any of what they promised. Left them snowed in over the Christmas holidays so they weren't able to have the family over. Shady, total dishonest and deceptive company!!

Richard was amazing! Called him on a Saturday morning regarding an urgent request for lawn services and by the afternoon we had dirt ready to lay down sod. In three days it was all done - even with some rain in there. Also, reasonable quote to do the job in a short period of time! He was a life saver!

We had total yard works do our landscaping and fence project and I can not speak highly enough of them. The quality of the work was very good (not perfect they are human) but what impressed me the most was their quality as people. We never felt like we were a burden as other contractors have. They treated us with dignity, respect, and were open to ideas. What I loved most about them is that they genuinely seem to love their job and they really tried to please us. I wish I could remember all the names but Rich, Kyla and Colin are gems. Colin is really young but it feels like your working with a number one draft pick who has the potential to be a hall of famer (for those who love sports references). I would hire them again without hesitation.

Thanks to Richard, Scott, and the crew at Total Yard Works for replacing my rotting, leaning mess of a fence in under 7 hours. They came ahead of their scheduled date, took out several tree roots and a tree that was impeding the new fence line, and sent 6 eager young men out to do the job quickly. Nice guy, but charged hundreds of dollars for work a high-functioning moron could do. Used the cheapest soil possible (resulting in TONS of weeds), and basically just dumped the river rocks without taking time or care to ensure it actually looked good. I've since undone half the project he did for $800+ because it looked awful.

Richard came in, quoted the job, gave me a start date and timeline, and to my pleasant surprise had his crews here to start 2 days earlier than expected! The crews were fantastic! It turned out to become more work than they were expecting, and they truely listened to me as a client/customer. They rolled with the changes and additions with enthusiasm, and from clearing out and levelling the whole yard, to building 2 composite decks with gazebos, one with Regal railing including gate, 2 patios, a firewood leanto, a chain link dog run, a new fence, and a new wood gate on a different fence, along with landscaping, I was fully impressed. They were done in 12 days... TWELVE!!! The crews were great to have around, friendly and professional. I highly recommend Total Yard Works, and would hire them again for another project. We had a patio and walkway built this past spring. Although a miscommunication left our artificial turf ripped up, Richard, Kyla, Colin and team rectified the issue immediately. After this, it was smooth-sailing. Colin and the crew were here bright and early everyday until the job was completed. After the Total Yardwork's team finished our neighbor's fence they were able to install a rod iron fence to our side yard and re-level our patio bricks originally installed by another company 10 years ago. The yard is beautiful with straight fencing all around and the patio is well built up with proper grading. Rich even topped up our neighbor's grading with soil for free - said he had extra soil. Appreciated the fact that he took down our old fence and had it nicely stacked for removal by someone else. Very happy with the workmanship & the pricing was fair.
